Well, this isnt going to be as long or detailed as some of your trip reports, so we will just call this a trip summary with picture slideshow.
Disney vacay from Jan 31-Feb 7th.
On this trip- Me (24), DH (23), DD4, DD1 and my little sister whos 14. This was a happy trip for a sad reason. Dh is being deployed this summer for a year and we really wanted to do a nice family vacation before he left. So no one flame me for taking my sister from a week of highschool to do Disney.
I was the ultimate planner and DH was the ultimate big kid. He wanted to buy everything in sight for the kids, nothing is too over the top for his princesses.
DD4 is the biggest daddys girl. Shes also a huge pushover. If Daddy tells her she will like the Tower of Terror, she will bravely get in line. Twice. Everytime I asked her to sit next to me on a ride she refused and only wanted to sit next to Daddy.
DD1 is The Wall. She came with a set personality from Day 1 and she does not deviate from her internal plan. She will shriek like a howler monkey if things are going according to her plans. Very very stubborn that child is.
DSis is, well, a teenager. Enough said about that.
The biggest part of this trip is that it was surprise. DD4 did not know that we were going. At 6:30 am when we pulled into my parents driveway to pick up my sister, my parents and sister swarmed the car. I shoved the video camera in DD4s face and my Dad started taking a million pictures. My sister said, "Do you know where we are going today? We are going to Disney World. RIGHT NOW!" DD4 looked confused for a moment and then got really excited. She got to the point where she was so excited pulling into Pop Century that she was pointing at the backs of signs on the other side of the road and saying, "DADDY!! WOOK!! Wook Daddy!!" (Look) We tried to explain to her that those were nothing, just the backs of signs, but they were Disney to her and she was super excited about them.
Pop was really really cool. Way cooler than I thought it would be. We were in room 6301 in the 70s section. Pretty good location. First room off the elevator. It definatly was loud at night. To me it wasnt bad, listening to kids giggle never gets on my nerves but I can see where others would be get annoyed. My biggest complaint was the water pressure. I joked that the Camel from the Magic Carpets ride could spit on me and get me wetter than that shower. Showers took forever because it took a good 5 minutes of just standing under the water to feel wet enough to begin washing. LOVED the frozen coke machine. Man we lived off of frozen coke.
Wednesday afternoon- MK. Man this place was dead. Like walk right onto Pirates of the Caribbean and Splash Mountain dead. We wrode almost everything there that first night. We met Timon, Rafiki, King Louie, Brer Bear, Brer Fox, Snow White, Belle, and Cinderella. DD4 and DD1 fell asleep on the Haunted Mansion. Seriously who does that?? Note to Disney- Please refurb the Haunted Mansion. It needs it really REALLY bad. We had dinner at Cosmic Rays. No complaints there.
Thursday- Epcot. We were right in front of Character Connection at rope drop and walked in and met Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale, Goofy and Pluto. I wrode Living with the Land while DH, DD4 and DSis wrode Soarin'. I saw 2 other people on the ride the entire time. Oh and an FYI- DO NOT ride Soarin if you have to pee. I made this mistake. Learn from my mistake. Go before you ride. We wrode Test Track twice. DH wrode Mission Space while I took the girls on Spaceship Earth. We did the Cool Station. DH let the baby try Beverly. She was less than impressed. We did some other stuff I dont remember. We have lunch at Biergarten. I loved that place. DD4 and I picked pearls in Japan and had earrings made for her. We met Alladin and Jasmine and Aurora. No one else was around when Aurora came out so DD4 got alot of time with her. We wrode Maelstrom. We wrode the Nemo ride. We went to the Innovations place. It started pouring rain so we went back to the hotel and got soaked in the process. Yes I had ponchos but it wasnt a cold rain and the kids were having a blast, DD4 was jumping in puddles so I just let them have a ball. When we got back to Pop it had stopped raining. So we got in the pool for awhile.
Friday- Animal Kingdom. The talking Palm Tree was at the front. We headed straight (ok, I read the map wrong, we walked around in circles a bit) to Expedition Everest. Dh and I wrode while DSis stayed with the girls. We sat in the front row. Awesome ride. Then we switched. This was the first ride we used the Child Swap on. We headed to Dinoland and DSis and I wrode Primeveal Whirl. DD4 met TRex. Ok, now what the heck kind of character is that?? He totally looks out of place at Disney. Anways, we ate a late breakfast at Donalds Breakfastasaurus. Food there was great. I loved the breakfast pizza. DD1 cried hysterically over Goofy. DD4 met Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. We went to the Boneyard but it had been raining on and off and so most of the stuff was closed. So we went back to Dinoland and I took the girls on Tricera Tops spin while DH and DSis wrode Primeval Whirl. We gift shopped a bit. Then headed over to Kali River Rapids. It was a walk on, but the queue was SO LONG. Man I cant imagine standing in that line when its full. That was just crazy. I put my poncho on, tucked it under me, tucked my legs in, pulled it closed at the neck and STILL got soaking wet. DH and DD4 didnt wear ponchos and got less wet than me. Just great. DSis and I swapped out and I waited for DD1 while they all wrode again. It was still raining on and off and wasnt the warmest day ever so we decided to ride Kilamonjaro Safaris and skip over to MK. When we were leaving we met Stanley. Someone walked by and said, "Is that Doug?? I think thats Doug!" which made us all laugh. I think we wrode like 2 rides at MK that night. We basically walked around and just looked at stuff there. We met Stitch, Gepetto, and Pinocchio before calling it a night.
