Here it is ....

OK...consider my officially whooped! I'm going to have to post some pictures this weekend once I've rested up a bit...we had some nasty storms here in Atlanta last night. The gym where I work FLOODED! The owner, Bobby, is also one of our fellow cruisers on this cruise. A little after 6 I was finishing up some office work and getting ready to go actually take-not teach-a class when the rain started. The wind had started about 30 minutes prior. Then came the hail...never a good sign in Georgia during the summer! (fortunately no tornadoes this time!) I heard the telltale sound and turned around to see water coming into the office. Now, let me preface this with the fact that our architecht/builder was a complete MORON! But...that's a story for another day. Bobby has spent copious amounts of $$ fixing things that this guy screwed up. So, we've had leaks...we know when we get a good rain where the buckets had to go. Last night, she blew! We put the bucket under that spot (a new one for us...never in the office before) and looked at each other and said: "the gym!"...when we got back there, the water was literally pouring down the walls like a waterfall. We got whatever buckets and towels we could and tried to stay a little ahead of it for 2 solid hours. We had to pick up carpet and mats-the gym looked like a war zone. Meanwhile, the retention pond behind our building flash flooded causing water to back into the other side of the building, and causing the parking lot drains to not function. We were pushing cars out of the parking lot in knee deep water. When the rain finally stopped, we spent the next 2 hours shop vacing up the water from the gym...now ankle deep in some spots. Our "viewing room" for the gym also flooded...the water was coming through the ceiling tiles and the lights.
This morning was spent cancelling classes and drying off/putting mats back in place. Let's just hope we don't have to do THAT again!:scared:

That is a bummer, I hope all works out for you all. We had some flooding in our basement last year. Thankfully I just spent the day cleaning all the toys and junk off the floor and mopped it. So it was not much to clean up from the water. We found out the problem was our drain at the walk out was all stopped up, we rented a 70ft snake and found some nasty stuff in there. We moved in 3 years ago and had some shady neighbors who just moved out.

Brack, congrats on the pirate. I thought we were going to go back and forth on that one but you beat me to it. Thanks for posting those pictures of the gingerbread house, where was it located in the Atrium?

The Gingerbread House, if I remember correctly, is in the walkway on deck 3 going aft from Lumiere's toward the Promenade Lounge, right next to the stairwell that leads to Deck 4 and Shutters.

My friends and I played hooky from work yesterday and went into Chicago to see Jersey Boys. It was fantastic. I am humming and singing Four Season songs all day. What a great show. We are doing another Girl's Day Out October 15 to see Wicked. The funny thing is, we all work at the same place and no one has caught on, this was our 5th Girl's Day Out.:rotfl:

We promise not to tell :rolleyes1

Hi All, bumping us back to page one.

So what is the scoop on the FE, Shirts, meet, etc? I am excited to get started on this. I hope to hear from you all soon.

okay, I am back from the land of the recovering...:cool2:

1 major surgery
2 schools + lesson plans
1 homeschool plus lesson plans
:teacher:

I think I have everything under control now. I sent in my 2 sets of lesson plans to my 2 schools. I have about 3 months of lessons plans lined up and almost all entered for DD for upcoming school year...this year is going to be tough for her! The work has stepped up a notch and her load will get incrementally bigger. She is in a fine arts school one day a week plus another afternoon in drama rehearsal, leaving 4 days to get 5 days of academic work done. We are starting her off slow with just Geometry, Biology, Western Civ. 1 history, and a British lit course, after the first month or so we will add in a logic 1 course, then a government course, then a sociology course with an eye for her to take the sociology CLEP test and get a jump on college credits while she can. She's gonna NEED a cruise come January!! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

As far as the TAG game goes, I only have these numbers:
9 cabins
18 total participants
11 out of the 18 are children (children = 18 and under)

We have room for a lot more participants!

Since I have been out of the loop so long, I may have missed a request. Here are the names of families I have participating so far:
May
Hardy
Goulart
Patterson
Moore
clower5luvzdiz
shelvis

If you want to participate and don't see your name on the list - PM me with the pertinent info
cabin #(s)
name(s)
# in party
#of kids with ages at sailing
kids names
any celebrations
any allergies

Ok, now back to your regularly scheduled mayhem.:dance3:

Welcome back and glad to hear everything is back in order. I sent you a pm with my info. We wanna play and I've already started planning.

omg-so let me try to get this tag thing. Who will give everyone a magnet? If I am supposed to take my magnet and give it to the giftee that means there will only be ONE magnet or will everyone end up with a magnet?

I am not trying to be difficult but should we just pass out our gift at our convenience? that way we are not stressed to keep up being tagged? Just an idea.

:thumbsup2 This gets my vote. It's a vacation ..... no worries! No stress! :beach:

right - no magnet, no schedule. Like I said earlier, we'll just pass out the list of participants and you can play tag as you see fit and time permits. :thumbsup2 It'll be much easier on "vacation brains".

Count us in. I will PM you our info. Thanks.

We are heading off to Kansas City in the morning for the White Sox/Royal series.:wizard: Going to be hotter there than here. Oh well.
This will give me a chance to pick up a few Chicago things at the airport Sunday evening, when we return, to put away for the "fish" exchange.
