1/26/2013-Fantasy-Eastern including Puerto Rico

FB pages are great to keep topics of importance in a single stream, love 'em. Leave the DIS more for getting to know each other outside of organizational things.

I think a facebook is great and like all good things it will need rules. My DD said she would set-up a 18 - 21 year olds a face book group if its needed just let me know if anybody would like one started and I will get her on it. thanks Kim for starting the kids a FB group

Our last cruise last January we had an adult Facebook group and a kids group. My family really enjoyed both groups and also the Disboards.

Nov 2010 Magic Western
Jan 2012 Magic Western

Okay I made a FB group so the kids can chat there. Here is the name of the group -Disney Cruise Jan 2013 Fantasy Group:yay:

I think it would be better if you include the actual date of the cruise so it doesn't get confused with other FB groups for sailings during the same month.

I looked up other kids groups and that is how they named it without the full date.... I thought being that it is a kids page it is a really good idea to not put the full date. Being that my Husband is a city employee we are always really careful on protecting the kids.... can never be too safe. :thumbsup2

Ok, hadn't thought of that. Just trying to come up with something that would make it unique to this date.

We just booked this as our first Disney cruise! :hyper: "We" is my husband, my 10 year old son and myself. I'm enjoying reading the discussion information and learning lots! Is everyone planning to do the Fish Extender thing on this cruise?

:welcome: sunseeker! We have not decided on FE yet. Hoping we will make up our mind soon.

Welcome to DIS and to this thread. You will find lots of info on the boards.

We won't be doing the FE exchange.

Ok, so for Facebook rules.... definitely think important info (FE stuff etc) related to the cruise we can post both on Dis Boards and facebook.

What other rules where you guys thinking of? :coffee:

Do we want to restrict the facebook group to disers on the cruise by cross-checking screen name? I saw one other group do this for added security since facebook includes more private info. Thoughts? :confused3

Hi! This will be our first Disney cruise - that would be me, my husband, and our slightly shy, pirate-obsessed son, who will be 4.5 at the time.

In the pre-kid years, my husband and I did a similar route on HAL.

I agree.... I set up the kids Facebook and I was not going to add anyone unless I knew who they were by talking to them on this thread. People can send a request but they do have to be approved before they can see or add posts.

So if your kid has Facebook and wants to be added to the group please let me know so that I approve them. :)

:welcome: Conorama! So glad you joined. Our DD will be 4 on the cruise (and is shy too).

Are there other important rules we need to include? I am happy to setup the group on Facebook, but I want to give everyone some time to comment/voice concerns (in case there are some). If there are none, I will go ahead and get us started. :goodvibes
