1/22/2006 Roll Call for Wonder Cruisers

We might try for The Blue Lagoon again. We missed it in September because we did not dock until late. I am wondering though, how the water is going to feel.
If you think you might do this through Disney, you should double check. I think they have discontinued the Blue Lagoon beach excursion. I'm sure that you can go there on your own though. :confused3 Just double check!!

FYI, this past January, "the cursed person" cruised again, and they missed both Castaway Cay AND Grand Cayman!!! Luckily, she's staying home this Jan~~we'll see her in NYC, but we didn't invite her to Florida!! :rotfl:
THANK GOODNESS!! Thank you, thank you for not inviting her! :rotfl2:

Yeah, I know...I felt guilty for about 30 seconds....:rotfl: She's a nice person and all, but you know, vacation is vacation....and I *need* my warm weather whenever I can get it!!!!!!!!!

The other thing to notice is this:

Jan '03 ick
Jan '04 great
Jan '05 ick
Jan '06 great???

Anyway, that's MY theory, and as far as I'm concerned, its as good as anyone else's long term forecast!!!!!!!! :sunny: Just don't ever travel in Jan of an odd year.......yeah, TRUUUUUST ME!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Hmmmm...hmmmmmmmmmm hmmmmmmm so whats everyone going to do in Nassau......??

Hi everyone! DIS does not like me! I don't get messages at all... :guilty:

Nevertheless, I'm back... once again!

Haven't checked my pirate name yet, but I was wondering if any of you have been to this site www.talklikeapirate.com It's lots of fun!

Nassau
We are not sure yet what we'll do in Nassau. We might go to Atlantis and visit their aquarium. We would also like to go to the Pirates Museum. And make a final stop at the HardRock Cafe on our way back to the ship to buy a t-shirt and a shot glass for my collection.

17 days and counting for our trip to Orlando... :earboy2:

I think we will plan with Kelli's theory and thinking. Not bringing along the bad luck person and travelling on an even year. I think it will be GREAT! :sunny:
So I guess next year we will have to stay home for my bday! :guilty:

I never usually get my messages from the dis board either. I just booked mark it and check it daily when I ready my email. :confused3

The weather is supposed to be better here today too. This morning it was only 18 degree and it is supposed to get up to 30 degrees. WOO HOO......not below zero anymore.

I forgot to mention that when we go to NY, we will be watching my BIL as he has qualified for the America's cup for the winter sport that you see in the olympics for the skeleton. That is where a single rider slides down head first on the track. It should be exciting. He was among the top 12 in the US. You have to be in the top 4 to be in the winter olymics but he competes with them at other events. We all bought US skeleton sweatshirts with his names and times on the back and are going to suprise him and all wear them when we go there!

Hope everyone has a good day.

We went down to the park on Sunday only and it was really for just a short visit. When we got to the parking lot (about 12:15) there was a sign up: Disneyland is very busy today. Plan your day accordingly.

Marc was on the lookout for a Pooh Christmas gift for one of his employees so we ventured in. Downtown Disney was somewhat busy, but The World of Disney store was mobbed. I usually just go with the flow (I think I've said that before, but I really do!) but I started to go into meltdown. Too many people.

We went into the main park and while they said they were busy, it really didn't appear so. We walked all the way to Pooh Corner and elbowed our way through a few crowds and Marc found what he needed. We then headed out and went over to DCA for lunch. Taste Pilots Grill was just a line of people but we stood in line (by now it was about 1:20ish). We finished lunch around 2 and as we left the crowd had just simply disappeared.

All in all, it didn't seem to warrant the "Be Prepared" motto, but there were quite a few folks there. I'm missing The Vineyard Room so I'm going to see if I can corral Marc into going next Saturday for dinner. I will survive!!!!

Now, all that being said, please remember that we don't have small children. I'm not sure I would want to handle the crowd with youngsters, but, again, we don't have any.

Michael

I didn't receive my cruise doc's yet but today I did get the packet & luggage tags for our precruise stay at the pop with magical express for 1/19-1/22. We will probably be getting the cruise doc's soon since I got these today.

My family and I will also be cruising in January and can't wait to go. pirate: It will be my husband, me  and our 17 year old daughter who is a major disney trivia player at home. I hope she will be able to play some trivia on the ship. We have never been on a cruise before and this will be our first. Hope to see you on board.

Welcome. Are you on the 1/22 wonder or the 1/21 Magic? JW because your post says 1/21 cruise. :goodvibes

Julie! You are the best at keeping us up on the board! Thanks for bumping all the time!

I didn't realize that our cruise docs might be coming so soon! I hope they don't come while I'm out of town--I'd hate to miss the minute they get here.

I'm so glad we have you as our captain! With dirty, iron, mad, and calico (bonney!) pirates, we need a captain! Way to go keeping your status!

Hey, let us know if any of those skeleton races will be televised! We now have Directv (with every sports channel that exists), so that along with TiVo should allow us to watch non-mainstream sports.

It's a VERY busy week for me. I'll check in when I can.

Michael, I LOVE this place! It's usually quick and the food is better and more varied than anything in Disneyland. I love the kids popcorn chicken! I actually don't mind spending DL prices here because I feel like I'm getting a better value. Though someday, I'm going to get to the Vineyard Room!

Thank you! All the info you gave will really help me. We are staying at the Candy Cane Inn (no GC for us this time--no rooms, and too expensive this time of year). My son doesn't do crowds very well, so I think that we will leisurely take our time, spend a few hours there after dark to see all the decorations, skip the parade and snow (boo hoo), and get up early the next morning to do the Reindeer Roundup and hopefully get to ride Soarin' before heading out of town. I will skip World of Disney, even though I love that store! Yes--we'll survive too, even if we just up and leave altogether.

if you are sad about skipping the snow, you can come here. There is not a line for ours! :rotfl2:

Today all of the schools are closed again. We had ice and are in the process of 3-6 more additional inches of snow. The college that DH works at is closed too so he is home too. Maybe we will make Christmas cookies today. :earsboy:

Karin, you'll have a great time, I'm sure. I, too, really like Taste Pilots. Please, please, PLEASE find the time some weekend to do The Vineyard Room. I think most people are put off by this restaurant as it is pricey (probably the only other restaurant at the part that's pricier is Club 33 but if you go there your entrance to the park is covered), however, we have had the most phenomenal service here. When it first opened and was managed by Mondavi it was very good and I was concerned when Disney took it over, but they have done nothing wrong, IMO. Mark, our ONLY waiter, Javier from the service bar, Teri, who was front of house, and Chad, the executive chef, have made us feel like family there. We have actually run into them at GC and have had drinks after park has closed.

I'd love to hear about CCI. Have you stayed here before? GC does get expensive so those trips are few and far between. We've stayed at The Anabella a few times and have had very restful nights.

Julie, all the weather you're having is the main reason I ran from the midwest. I never want to shovel another patch of snow. I remember going out every morning and cleaining everyone's driveway (well, it seemed like everyone's!). My folks just shake their heads these days when I question why they're still there!! They seem to like it!!!

Now, back to cruising..... who's gonna meet up with Marc and me at the martini tastings???? pirate:

Michael

I think we are trying that and the wine tasting too. I don't know if we'll like it, but were up to try anything! We are used to the norm or beer, wine, & margaritas. Sounds a bit boring so i guess we should broaden the horizon a bit. Especially when the kiddies will be busy at the club!

Alvaro said he'd be at any tating they had! LOL :goodvibes
