I think we are trying that and the wine tasting too. I don't know if we'll like it, but were up to try anything! We are used to the norm or beer, wine, & margaritas. Sounds a bit boring so i guess we should broaden the horizon a bit. Especially when the kiddies will be busy at the club!

Alvaro said he'd be at any tating they had! LOL :goodvibes

Margaritas boring??? No way!
Wine? Love it!
Beer? Well, not so much a fan of some of the domestics, but get me in a microbrewery and I'll be happy with a pint!

We did martini tastings on our NCL trip and met some of the nicest folks. It really is just a fun time. You may like some (or all) of the martinis and not others. Jump on in!!!

Stay warm!
Michael

I knew if you heard the word "tasting" you'd message! :goodvibes

hope everyone is surviving the preholiday stress!!
Maybe we should start looking at previous 4-day navigators to find out when all these tastings might be offered....so we can make sure that we fit them all in! :rotfl2:

Actually, I would probably only do the martini tasting for the social aspects. Wine tasting would be much more up my alley.

if you are sad about skipping the snow, you can come here. There is not a line for ours! :rotfl2:

Today all of the schools are closed again. We had ice and are in the process of 3-6 more additional inches of snow. The college that DH works at is closed too so he is home too. Maybe we will make Christmas cookies today. :earsboy:
I would love to have the front yard covered in snow for the kids, but keep it off the streets!

Hope you survived having everyone home today! I would go absolutely mad--hmmm that would get me from dirty to mad in a hurry! pirate:

Karin, you'll have a great time, I'm sure. I, too, really like Taste Pilots. Please, please, PLEASE find the time some weekend to do The Vineyard Room. I think most people are put off by this restaurant as it is pricey (probably the only other restaurant at the part that's pricier is Club 33 but if you go there your entrance to the park is covered), however, we have had the most phenomenal service here. When it first opened and was managed by Mondavi it was very good and I was concerned when Disney took it over, but they have done nothing wrong, IMO. Mark, our ONLY waiter, Javier from the service bar, Teri, who was front of house, and Chad, the executive chef, have made us feel like family there. We have actually run into them at GC and have had drinks after park has closed.

I'd love to hear about CCI. Have you stayed here before? GC does get expensive so those trips are few and far between. We've stayed at The Anabella a few times and have had very restful nights.
I will frequent any place that is (or now used to be) managed by Mondavi! (I went to UC Davis, where he is a major benefactor.) This will be a must when I have babysitters around (my parents).

I'm really curious about CCI too. We've never stayed there, but I've heard it's the next best thing to staying onsite. I like the idea of their shuttle that runs every 1/2 hour. Our stay is coming up--I'll be sure to get a report to you ASAP! My mom has stayed at the Anabella and liked it, but it seems to be quite a walk unless you can cut through the GC and their entrance to DCA. The last time we stayed at GC, though, they checked room keys before we could use that entrance.

I agree, I wish we had some old 4 day navigators. I will try the martini tasting just because I don't think I have ever had them before let alone different kinds, but the wine tasting interests me. We love wine, but I do not know how to chose the good from the bad!!!!

Did you get your paper written?

No! I'm still here procrastinating! :rotfl2: In fact, I'm going to go look at recent navigators on another site right now, but I don't think they'll let me post the url. I have to get this letter written--it's 1/2 done, and once Connor gets in bed, I'll be able to finish it. Then I can look at it again tomorrow night and hand it over on Friday--whew. It's still hanging over me....

I'll look for the navigators right now.

I just looked at Barb's (inkognito on this board) website and found navigators from an 11/05 4-day cruise. Don't want to get in trouble for posting the url!!

Martini tasting seems to be everyday for extended periods of time and so could possibly be on a drop-in basis without reservations. It's $15 per person.

Wine tasting for this particular cruise was from 3-4pm on the last (sea) day. It's $12 pp and requires reservations, which I think can be made at least the day before.

Beer tasting was at 2pm on the sea day. It's $10 pp and offers beers "from around the world." Don't know about reservations.

Then on the last day there is a 2 for 1 Martini Hour from 6:30-7:30 pm.

Bottoms up! :drinking1

(Now it's officially time to finish the recommendation letter!)

Am I getting this right?

2pm - beer tasting
3pm-4pm - wine tasting
6:30pm-7:30pm - 2x1 martini hour

Busy Wednesday..... :rotfl:

I still have my navigators from my 4 day this past Sept if anyone would like me to look something up for them!

Karin,
Thanks for the information. Better bring some tylenol for Thursday morning!! I think we will try most "tastings" ........why not, we're not driving the ship! ;)

Amanda,
You could do these and then you wouldn't notice how cold the water is! :teeth:

Alvaro....I guess we can count on you being at all of the tastings too!

Hi! I am officially done with everything this week! Now it's time to pack for two weeks at my parents' house for Christmas and New Year's, and one night at Disneyland! ::MinnieMo Whew, but now since I can relax, I'll end up getting sick.

Our pirate costumes came yesterday and today! They are actually very nice. However, I'm not quite so sure about mine.... I just have to remember that I only paid $35 and I shouldn't expect a designer dress for that!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

P.S. Has anyone heard from Melissa recently?

Hi again! I just found the following info for a rocket launch that is scheduled to happen on the day our cruise ends. Unless it happens in the morning, we will miss it because we fly out of MCO at 1pm. But I thought the rest of you might have a looser schedule and can plan on watching it. Here's the website just in case you want to keep up to date on the schedule, as things always seem to change: http://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/launches/scheduleStatus.asp

Date: 1/26/2006
Time: Launch Time Not Set
Details: The Boeing Delta 2 rocket will launch the second modernized NAVSTAR Global Positioning System Block 2R military navigation satellite.
