1/22/2006 Roll Call for Wonder Cruisers

Greetings!
I just wanted to bring up something that y'all might not be aware of (though I'm SURE everyone here has the same problem we do!). Be VERY careful of your spare time. Don't spend too much time on these boards. It's a BAD thing (in such a good way!).

In thinking of this upcoming cruise, Marc and I were sort of mulling over what we were going to do during now and January. We were fortunate to take a cruise with my folks to Alaska this past July on the Diamond Princess to celebrate their 50th anniversary and that spurred us on to a DCL cruise.

While Thanksgiving is a fun holiday (we both love to cook!) we weren't quite sure if we wanted to hang around Los Angeles for a long weekend this year. Imagine our surprise when SOMEHOW a cruise to the Mexican Riviera got booked!

I actually worked shoreside for Princess Cruises for 3 years and loved every minute of it. I've always loved the product (I know, there will always be someone who doesn't. This is not meant to be a cruise line v. cruise line post!!) but was never able to actually cruise with them while I worked there. One of the reasons we chose to do a Disney cruise was to experience the Disney magic and see how it translates to sea-going adventures! Now we get to compare Princess, Disney, and NCL.

We are getting so stoked about the DCL cruise. Bits and pieces of the pirate costumes show up at the door and we rip open the boxes to see what's arrived. It's almost as if our sugar levels have skyrocketed and we're like giddy kids at Christmas time! Can this REALLY be good???? (oh, I know the answer already!!!!!!!!)

For those of you with late seating, I'm offering to do the leg work to have our dining linked so we can sit either together or at tables close to each other. Anyone interested?

I also thought while I'm at it, I'd ask to be in Parrot Cay for the pirate night. Anyone have any other suggestions or thoughts?

If you are interested in linking dining ressie, please PM me with your ressie number, and I'll plan on calling Disney about the 1st of November.

Let's see... we have Kelli from the famous repo thread, and dzneprincess from the long thread name with "blabbermouth" in it (lol) and Alvaro of Panama fame... we almost don't need Mickey on this cruise!

Karin, thanks for the link. I had read it before a few years ago and totally forgotten about it. I enjoyed the re-read. Also would love to hear what you think about the Dolphin encounter in case my kids ever get to go on a 4-day. I'll be cruising the Magic with them (in less than two weeks!) but I'm leaving them behind for my Wonder cruise. Am I rotten, or what?

Oh, WOW! You're "one of those"?!? Thank you for the translation....I've been wondering what it meant....and please, tell us what language is it in? There's been discussion on that topic.....

Don't worry about Kelli... I already went through that in May. While walking down the hallway to meet her I kept worrying about WHEN is she gonna pull the knife!!! And when I got into the cabin I kept telling to myself ('please don't close that door... please don't close that door... crap! she closed it!!!) Then I saw Kelli's MIL... and wondered is she was the 'brains' behind that 'kidnapping' operation... hmmmm...

but they all turned out to be extremely nice psycho people!

(btw, I've been away 'cause disboards decided to stop sending me updates, so I did not know there was conversation going on here... I'm back!)

And fwiw, Etta IS the mastermind....SO funny you said that, because I have a pic that REALLY looks like she and Keith could be part of the "brotherhood"....I'll have to find it.....Keith doesn't like it, so its a great blackmail pic....

Good morning, everyone! Off to work now! Had my first customer that has relocated from New Orleans yesterday...great family!! Hopefully, things will get better for them, and they won't be too overwhelmed by our winter!!!

I just need to add: And isn't that ONE LONG HALLWAY to worry about that the entire length?!?!?!? No wonder it took you SO LONG to get there....... And here, I was wondering if they frisked you good before you came aboard.....ya never know about people from those "developing countries".....

How do I know that she did not brain wash you in that time? You could be a pod person made to do her bidding. It could be some kind of sick osycho plan to takeover the earth....

Yeah... "we... people from those developing countries" are not to be trusted!!! If you would have looked the other way when I was leaving your cabin, maybe I would have jumped into one of your bags and would have been able to be DCL's first stowaway, making it finally into the US!!!!

Who am I kidding... ... that "bar crawl" in Mexico would have been too much fun for me not to come out!!! ... and get shipped back to the "developing country"... back to square one!!! Hey Kelli, you think we're gonna have fun in January???

Nothing bad....just "What the heck language IS that?!?!?" I asked Alvaro to translate, and he said it wasn't any spanish that he knew.....it's just a great attention-getter...and that's what you want!

Seriously, I've not met an ax murderer on any of my Disney cruises....all my dinnermates have been great (except that one family, but they were just shy--at least that's my story!!)

You would have DEFinitely been welcome! And then I wouldn't have had those 2 "bad" days...... It was REALLY hard saying goodbye after a year's planning.....I sure felt my trip may as well have been over when you walked away!
