ok, so we arrive at the tail end of President's week, it's rated a "9" on the estimated crowd level (yuk). It's Friday, and we will probably get there around 11am or 12pm, so that leaves a fairly large amount of time to hit one of the parks.

Rule out MK? I figure by the time we roll in it would be packed, correct?

AK - while you can do this in a half a day, again I figure FP's for Safari would be for late that night, or gone, and besides, the best time to ride the Safari is early morning. skip this one

SO, that leaves us with either Epcot or MGM (DS).

Epcot is having evening EMH, closes at 7pm, but goes until 10pm with evening EMH, but becuase of that, it would probably be the most crowded.

That leaves MGM/DS, but I wonder how the FP's, and other things would be at Noon. The restort will stay open until 8:30, so we could possibly get quite a few things in, but I'm not sure how many.

Any suggestions?? What you would do???? (thx)

Maybe go shopping in Dowtown Disney, if you don't want to use a day on your hopper. Or maybe resort hopping.

I like to go the a park on the first day. Even if it is for a half day. Sometimes adding a day to your tickets is only an extra dollar or two. In July of last year crowds were between 8s and 9s and we could still get FP for Splash at 5:00 p.m.

I would pick a park and go and see a couple of attractions and then head for dinner or shopping. I just can't be in WDW and not go to a park on the first day.

We'll be getting there Fri. too but really late! Usually if we get there by 1 or 2, we still go into the parks. We just can't wait to get started!

We definitely want to hit a park, it's included in the park hopper ticket package that we bought.

It's just a matter of which one, since I've never been on a day rated a "9" before.

I think if it were me I would go to WS at Epcot, not really try to ride FW rides like TT and Soarin. Make an ADR at a nice restaurant, check out the entertainment schedule and see a show like Off Kilter or the Chinese Acrobats. See Illuminations. Then you will feel like you did a part of a park without the stress of trying to do MK or get on rides. It is so hard to do Epcot in one long day anyway, we end up hitting it numerous times for shorter periods.
