1/19/12 - DIS DREAMers cruise

Hi everyone! DH and I just booked this cruise to celebrate his 30th bday. It's going to be WAY too short for us, but we'll be back in WDW the following month, so it's all good. We're very excited and would definitely want to do the FE - we don't have our cabin number assigned yet, though.

I'll be happy to set up the fish extenders- let me know which families are interested and cabin #'s, ages, etc. Thanks!

Texaskate - I sent you a PM with our cabin # for the FE (at least I think I did - but I can't find it in my sent messages!). We are in. Thanks for offering to set it up!

Hi Everyone! Glad to see some people signing up for the FE's, hopefully we will get a few more:) We finally got our room assignments yesterday- so excited, we got 3 rooms right next to each other for the first time.
We will have:
6142- My son (6), my husband and myself
6140- My brother in laws
6138- My in-laws

Let me know when y'all get your rooms- I'll get it organized for everyone to print out:)

We are SO excited for our first Disney Cruise. I was working for the Disney Travel Company in Tampa when DCL first started so I have been looking forward to this opportunity for over 10 years! I will be on the Dream with my DH, 3 yr old DD, my parents, brother and his girlfriend. I don't have my room assignment yet, and won't til a week before (got a DEAL! but the vgt category is kinda a filler, I guess...). Unlike a lot of 1st time cruisers, I am a huge researcher so have been reading up on all the extra fun stuff that goes on onboard, esp all the insights from the DIS boards.

Are newbies invited to participate in the Fish Extender activities? If so, could someone offer a crash course so I can be prepped. My daughter would go crazy for this, and it's my kind of thing, too. Not much time to buy a FE, but I could come up with something, I'm sure. Do you exchange Disney gifts exclusively? We live in AK and there are lots of fun little Alaskan presents I could bring along for such an activity.

I can't wait!!! So glad to have found this board before our trip instead of after!!

Texaskate - count us in on the fish extenders! I'm in the room next to you! :thumbsup2 WOO-HOO! _Theo.

Everyone else - looking forward to it. While this is my first cruise, I will be traveling =in good hands= with Texaskate and the rest.

Theo-

So excited! You are going to love it. Excited for the Animal Kingdom, too:)

Add us to the list for the FE as well! We are all kids at heart :-)

Stateroom List:

8024 - Eric(27) Erica(28)
8026 - Lee(50+) Tommie(50+)

:-)

Welcome aboard! Everyone can do Fish Extenders. They are not exclusively Disney items. Some items we've received are: music CD's, candy, small items for room like post-its, pens, nightlights and room scents, small toys and games, magnets for the stateroom door, small dry erase boards, tote bags, can coolers, bandanas, pirate gear and decorations, etc. Some people give items related to where they are from (hot sauce from Louisiana, beads from Greece, maple candy from Canada). Some give a gift for each person in the room and others do one gift per room. It is really fun to see the wide assortment of what you receive! And it is also fun to deliver them and see everyone else's decorated doors and fish extenders. Some have custom made FE's, but I just use a Disney tote bag (or a Christmas stocking on our Christmas cruise). The kids really love coming back to see what has arrived!

Wonderful! When is the latest we can add our stateroom number to the list? We won't have it til the week before we sail. I guess we could use my mom's room if necessary, but would rather have our's on the list. I'll start collecting some AK special things now. :-)

Room 5046: my mom and dad (60+) and brother and his girlfriend (mid-20s) will be staying there.

We'll be in some stateroom somewhere! lol Hope we get our room assignment in time for the FE fun! We will be 2 adults (30s) and our daughter, who is 3 years old and in Disney Princess mode full speed.

:-) Thanks for adding us to the list!

Hi folks, it is been a while since I stopped by. I think I will be getting more organized after the holidays. I have made shipboard plans (dining) and think that shore excursions will be on the fly.

Enjoy Christmas Week and Happy Holidays...

We are taking our first family cruise on the Dream boarding Jan 19. CANNOT WAIT!!! :cool1:

Is it too late to sign up for the Fish Extender group?

I am travelling solo this trip. I always enjoy the FE experience.

Does anyone else plan private transportation to Orlando airport on debarkation? I will be happy to split a ride. My flight leaves at 11:30 AM so I will be early off the boat.

Happy Holidays!

Welcome! I'm sure it's not too late to sign up for the FE. Half of us don't even have our stateroom numbers yet!

Right now I have Disney transfers there and back, but like you, DH and I have an early flight. Ours is leaving at 10 am, so we'll be off the ship early, too. Our plan is to grab something quick from the buffet and then head right off the ship once it's cleared. Still debating whether or not we want to cancel our return transfer and book something private back to the airport.

Hi Y'all!

I haven't forgotten about y'all. With the crazy holidays, I have been traveling for 3 straight weeks. We get back to Dallas tomorrow- I will sit down and figure out the cabins involved in the fish extenders. I will make a list and post the cabins by floor. If you haven't sent me your room assignments, let me know as soon as you can! Hope everyone had a great holiday:)

It's not a secret at my house any longer either! Now I have to get my act together...

Hope you had a great holiday! We are in the vgt category so won't know our room assignment til the week before. :-( I posted before that my parents and bro/his girlfriend (who will also be participating) are in room 5046. There are 4 adults in 5046, 2 girls, 2 boys.

I am already shopping for AK specific FE gifts, and thank you for getting our stateroom number out to the group when we get it. I'll let you know on here just as soon as we hear. :-)

Thanks!

Hi, everyone. I booked a dolphin swim for half of our group. I was also able to get a cabana. :cool1:

How does this work? If someone from this group wants to share the cabana they pay a certain $ for it? My mom is undergoing chemo and though she is hanging tough, somewhere guaranteed out of the sun has a certain ring. We'll be fine no matter what, but this made me curious. :-) Thanks for schooling this newbie!

Note to self...check cabin number.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and will have a wonderful and safe New Year....Do we need a countdown to the cruise? I will start.

We Sail in 21 days...

I did count right- didn't i?
