And I have to dig a little deeper to find one I'm actually in.

:lmao: Ok this is the only recent picture I can find where I'm not wearing sunglasses. How ridiculous.

Less than a week and a half till I can stuff my face with food all day long! :thumbsup2

Donnica, I would bring you in a heart beat, if I could pay for you.:confused3 But seeing as it's kind of hysterical that we are cruising, considering how bad the economy is and all, no can do!!!!!!!!

I know isn't this funny or not??? We're in a recession and going on a cruise....hmmmmm

Great video...we did the same thing once with our kids when they were young....have no idea where that video is!!! I started cracking up when I heard your husband refer to your GPS as Monica......I think that was what he called it....we call our Delores.

Anyone else have a name for their GPS????

MJ

We have Claire! She's Austrailian! My boys tell her to be quiet when she gets sassy! LOL! We got her a Christmas gift and everything!

I've been thinking though ... I think it would be hilarious to have a truly sassy one, one that insults you and yells at you if you go the wrong way ... there should be a setting for that!

You guys look like fun! I'll try to post a picture of someone other than our dog tonight!

We surprised them once a couple years ago. It was SO funny. It took us 2 days to drive to WDW and we told them the whole time we were going to a toy store. They totally bought into it (they were only 3 and 5 years old) and my son's reaction when we pulled under the Disney World sign was hysterical.

I have a video of it here: http://lauramichelle.smugmug.com/gallery/4032721_2g4v7#310288588_tYwxQ-A-LB[/QUOTE]

Oh my gosh, that was so adorable !!! Thanks for sharing. I love seeing videos like that. I just wish I could keep a secret like that. I get too excited though and I can't hold it in.

Us married guys might say we already have one of those (only kidding you wonderful ladies). Anyway, I am really getting nervous about next week. It seems that everytime I look at the day we are flying out (next Friday) our (NYC area) forecast says snow one day and something else other than snow another day. It is killing me. Next week is going to be very busy for me as I will be testifying in a trial and I need to know if I should fly out any sooner. Dang these weather people won't they make up their minds.

Well here is a pic of the family and I on our Jan '07 cruise. So make the kids two years older, DW wife two years prettier and me two years dumber (but 50 lbs lighter). I will try and get better shots (recent ones) later.

LOL! :rotfl: I never thought about that ... DH DEFINITELY has a insulting/swearing human GPS! OOPS! I guess I'm not that bad, but you bring up an excellent point!

Going to look for a family photo!

I hear ya about the weather.....had to drive my DD into NYC last night and was hoping the weather would be good for her this morning as she flew out of JFK to LAX to visit her friends out there. So glad that today was not icy.

I keep checking the weather for next week as well.....to iffy for me.....get it right weather people!!!

here is a pick of our family on another cruise.....shhh....not DCL. The last time we all sailed DCL together was so long ago. We fit in an extended family cruise back in 2005 on Carnival out of NYC and that was the last time we cruised with the kids...

They are jealous that they can't come next week...they are looking for some sunshine and warm weather!!

And me and the big cheese!!!

I'm still trying to decide what to do on St. Maarten. I had it all planned until I was on the cruisecritic board. We wanted to head over to Baie Rouge to go swimming but I was told we would have a hard time getting a taxi to take us and then to come back. The last thing I want is to get stuck at the beach!!

So back to the drawing board. What is everyone else doing? Any advice?
Oh and after researching everything, Orient Beach doesn't sound like my cup of tea. I prefer quiet, empty beaches. I just want a cab to come back.
Thanks!

:lmao: Well that may explain the husband's attachment to our GPS. She's a lot nicer than I am to him when he's driving!

Well we didn't want to go anywhere with nudity and none of the shore excursions sounded that great. So we decided we're gonna take the water taxi over from the ship to Great Bay Beach. From what I can tell on Google Earth the beach is really close to the ship so we could go back and forth throughout the day if we wanted to. And I've read on here that the water taxi passes are cheap and good for the entire day. While there we're planning to rent jet skis and stuff. I'm looking forward to it! We'll probably load up a cooler with some food from the ship to take with us.

Here's a little bit of info about it:

Thanks Laura. I've been looking at the web site a lot. I haven't figured out what to do yet. Oh, the decisions.....:lmao:

When we went to Orient last year the taxi driver asked us if we needed to be picked up. He offered to come back at a set time to get us. So I am not sure if you would have a problem getting a taxi back...but I would certainly make sure of it before I went out there.

As for nudity, from what I have read you may see it topless bathers on any beach on the island, whether on the Dutch or French side, with the French side being a bit more prevalent. Our daughter is only 6 and could care less so we're not so worried about it. And most of the people we were seeing walking around topless/nude weren't ones we wanted to take notice of anyway ;)

Our plan is to get a taxi to Orient first thing in the morning. Orient is pretty empty before lunch so we'll play on the beach in the morning, have lunch there, then head out after lunch when the crowds arrive. We're going to head to Phillipsburg after that and do some shopping, then head back to the ship for dinner.

We are going to do the Golden Eagle Catamaran excursion in St Maarten. It looks really fun. We love snorkeling and it seemed like this would be a good bet without the hustle and bustle of really trying to get a good spot at a beach. Plus we can swim and still be away from the hoopla of the bootyla...

Tim

PS Some very recent pics of the family.

Ok, I've taken a vote and we're totally going to be the best looking passengers that Disney's ever had! Just please don't ask who voted ok?

I agree! haha

So we've talked about the excursions in St. Maarten...what's everyone doing in St. Thomas?

We're doing the Doubloon Sail & Snorkel. I can't wait to try out my underwater digital camera!

We are doing the Coral World thing and taking the rest of the day by the ear. Probably just taking time to walk around and shop.

Yeah that is the sad part I don't need anyone to pay for me, we just can't afford to pay for TWO lol and you can't go as one because it's the same price as paying for two. Maybe they would let me sleep on a dack chair at a one person rate? lol I'll bring my own blanket!
