1/17/09 Magic anyone???

Good news for you!! ALL rooms on DCL have bathtubs...they are pretty normal size too. My kids took baths almost every night, it calmed them down and they were quite stinky after being in the sun and sand all day! :lmao:

Your DS will not need to take that horrible shower! :rotfl: (BTW - both mine HATE showers too!) :goodvibes

Oh thank Goodness! I just want as little unpleasentness as possible ... if I made my older son (who's the drama kid), take a shower they'd think I was abusing him! :scared1: YAY! Do they have kids wash on the boat or should I add that to my shopping list for today??

I would add it to your shopping list IF your DS has sensitive skin or you don't like using straight soap. We acutally prefer using the shampoo they provide for body wash for the kids. The soap dries out a little bit. We always ask for extra shampoos and after the first request, we always get more than we bargained for (typical Disney service!)

CAN YOU BELIEVE WE ONLY HAVE 7 DAYS!!!!! :cool1: Anyone else having trouble sleeping!! :cloud9:

I'd offer to put you in with Jay and I, but I somehow think that no one would be too happy in that situation!

Ummmm Jenn... do you think anyone would think anyone could fit in your cabin with the two of you and your luggage??? I'm surprised they don't charge you 3rd and 4th person for it! LOL :rotfl:

Does anybody know how early you can get to the port and how early you can get on the ship??

We're supposed to be doing this as well. Hmm, that just reminded that I need to call back and place my credit card number with them. We have a 1 p.m. swim. I was told it was about an hour so that gives us 2.5 hours to change, buy souveniers and get back to the ship!:thumbsup2
What time is your swim scheduled for?

And everyones' families are beautiful!! I need to remember to get on-line at home and post our pictures.

We are the 10 AM swim.

My final trip to the store is done! Of course we're leaving Tuesday so we're not going to be around for the last few days of the boards ... we'll be visiting Mickey at WDW! We have everything we need and would be able to walk out the door within a few minutes! We're just cleaning up the house for the house-sitter and getting things ready! YAY!

Hey, if you guys plan a meet and greet could someone e-mail me the time and place incase they don't have free wireless internet at the Caribbean Beach Resort? My e-mail is georjisue22@yahoo.com

Thanks everyone!

PS~ No, I'm not sleeping either ... infact after watching youtube videos of the planes I'm dreaming of planes crashing ... oh well ... by Tuesday night I'll be at the happiest place on earth!

Port opens at 10:00 ish and you can board the ship as soon as they give the OK which is NORMALLY about 11:30-11:45. Of course that is subject to change if the ship is not ready yet but no earlier than than.

You can usually get to your room after 1:30 but you will get a sheet at check in that will tell you what time the rooms will be open that day. they usually have them roped off as they prop doors open and don't want people in the passenger hallways before the rooms are ready.

Make sure to get your boarding number as soon as you get off the escalator in the terminal. When it is time for boarding they will call numbers and each group then boards. It can get very bottlenecked near the entrance.

Once through the Mickey ears you need to show your KTTW card and swipe it through, then you will get your embarkation photo done, then you walk across the gangway and they announce your family name. Then, off to lunch, either upstairs at Topsiders on Deck 9 or Parrot Cay on Deck 3.

I am reliving it all again as I type!!!

Thanks, that was really helpful! We're going to try our best to get there at 10:00 so we can try for a Palo brunch and an earlier dinner time.

And it sounds like we'll be carrying around our giant cooler of alcohol for several hours lol. I guess we should try and put that cooler inside a rolling suitcase so we aren't lugging it around the port and ship all day.

That a bunch, we were hoping we could get there early enough to maybe get an upgrade to a different cabin. We're on deck 2 and I read that it's very noisy where we are located. I've heard that if we wait to upgrade at the port, we can get a much better rate. I can hardly contain myself, I'm so excited !!!!:dancer:

Don't be afraid of Deck 2....it is awesome!!! We have stayed there several times. We usually stay in 2546 and never heard noise (except the waves!!)...and it is true that the upgrade price is much better at the port than if you did before you arrived....BUT.....upgrades are pretty hard to get at the port and are not often available but it can't hurt to get there early and ask. Ask the CM as soon as you get off the escalator...they should be able to direct you where to go to see if upgrades are available...good luck!!!

Has anyone upgraded at port previously? We are also on deck 2 and were wondering if you can really get a good deal on an upgrade. Its not necessary for us to move, but I'm always about getting a bargain!:goodvibes

I have not personally, but some people report they have from time to time. Again, they are not always available....DCL really does try to sail as full as possible each week. If the regular bookings are soft they will then offer special discounts to Florida Residents, military discounts and they also offer discounted rates to employees of the whole Walt Disney World company which includes WDW, DL, Disney Stores, ABC, Disney Shopping, etc. so they often sail full...even in these economic times.

Best chance is to get there as soon as the port opens to ask. If no upgrades are available there will be a sign at the check in desk saying no upgrades today or something like that...but ask the CM when you get off the escalator.

I think there was a report from the other day that said they upgraded from a Cat 9 to a Cat 5 for about $800 for the total cabin, not per person. I think in about that range.

Anybody know who the cruise director is going to be? I heard it was going to be Christiaan but apparently he has taken some time off. It seems that his wife is giving birth very soon or just gave birth, don't know. I am happy for him and his family but sad for us. He is really fun and a very good guy. But, I am sure whomever we have will be fantastic.

The cruise director was supposed to be Christiaan, but his wife had a baby and he got off the ship on the 3rd. OUR director will be Brent.

The ship band is Soul Drive. They are a local Orlando band, who play at the Blue Martini and CityWalk and they are pretty awesome. The female vocalist has a great voice. Their website is souldrivelive.com

I knew we could count on you Jenn!!!! Thanks for the info and YAHOOOOO we got BRENT!! Not that I wouldn't have minded Christiaan but I HAVE TO GET A PICTURE WITH BRENT!!!!! :yay:

We are actually big fans of Rachel as a cruise director, but she's not on the Magic right now.
