1/14/07 Wonder Anyone?

Grrrrrrrrrrrr.... Okay so I just got a call from the TA (AAA) letting me know that my request for AKL 1/12 is unavailable! I guess I should have called someone in person rather than rely on it through the internet!!! :furious:

Now I have to figure out what to do b/c using the AAA rate is a HUGE savings, almost $100 a night. According to them AND WDW, there are no hotels available for Friday night with the AAA rate and MOST hotels are booked solid regardless. Not to mention I already changed my dining ressie dates and times based upon us getting there on Friday!

So my options are to stay off-site both nights and just enjoy ADRS different places and Downtown Disney or stay off-site Fri night then AKL Sat night which is A LOT of packing and unpacking... UGHHHHHHHHHHH what do to! :confused3

So Shelly, I will have to get back to you now regarding breakfast...

I'll keep you updated...

Call Call Call everyday dont give up!!!!!!!
we just got rooms for 3 nights this week for our
trip this weekend!!!! thru dvc

Did i mention CALL 1 407 wdw stay
Call again call back every morning and every night!!!

Try Port Orleans instead or wilderness lodge!!!

Why are you staying at AKL ??? :confused3 not our fav

So here's what I'm thinking now...

I found a rate for $130 at the Hilton DTD. We won't arrive until late Fri night and we plan to spend Sat at DTD and supposidly this hotel is within walking distance. Anybody heard anything about it? I found a few threads and most people seemed to really enjoy their stay there.

Character breakfast at Chef Mickey's on Sat morning then off to BBB for Taylor's princess make-over. Rest and relax Sat afternoon and eat dinner somewhere around DTD or at our hotel that night.

Sun morning, breakfast at Kona Cafe with Shelly and her family then off to the port!

I'm sure I will change my mind about SOMETHING but so far, this is looking cheaper and better to me... we'll see!

Sounds Like a plan to me. I have seen the Hilton and heard that it is very nice. We too will be driving over on Friday for 2 nights. We are staying at the Contempory. We were luck to get our ressies for Le Cellier for Sat night. YEA!!!! We are only about 2 1/2 hours from the port, but we wanted to be alot closer. That is why we are going on to Disney for those extra 2 nights. Looking forward to seeing all of you. :)

My personalized pillowcases for the characters to sign came today... aren't they adorable!?! I am going to have them signed and see if the cabin steward will put them on the kids' beds the last night on the ship as a surprise!!

They're gorgeous! I am waiting on mine to come soon!

Those pillowcases are cute! I am sure your kids will be very surprised!

The month is moving along quickly. I am trying to figure what I have for whom and what I need to get!

Laura... glad you're back. I agree the time if FLYING! I'm still trying to figure out who is left and what else needs to be bought. We have been SO busy lately and I'm running out of time!

By the way... today is the last day for the GREAT sales on disneyshopping.com. I ordered some t-shirts today for like $5-8!!

I finally got my Christmas tree up today and a few decorations. I feel so behind and we have done nothing to the outside of the house so I guess at this point, we won't this year. I had to at least get the tree up since it's Tucker's 1st Christmas! I'm just hanging out at home tonight with the baby. Taylor went to my parents for the weekend and Jason's on duty tonight. We have an oyster roast to go to tomorrow. Can't wait!!

Have a great weekend everyone!!! :wave2:

I have put up my purple tinsel tree with paper flowers that we made. I will put up my live tree right before Christmas....like next week. Here is my fun fake tree! Let's see yours, Rebekkah! How about everyone else?

Laura, your tree is beautiful and so unique!! Here is mine... not a good shot but it's all I have. Need to take some now that it's done, but you get the idea. Very traditional with mostly crystal ornaments. I collect Waterford crystal ornaments and the annual Swarovski snowflakes for the past 6 or 7 years.

That is very pretty!
I love to see all kinds of Christmas tree decorations. I used to do one only in animals like dogs and such. I have not unpacked those in years, but I am thinking next year I will.

This is going to have to do Xmas 2005

Christmas at Arlington and one big, American thank-you is certainly due to Merrill Worcester and the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington, Maine. To do something like this year after year is above and beyond the call of duty. Here's a salute to you, Merrill, and I hope you get many more.

I had never heard of this. I have only visited in the summer months. I wonder why the press hasn't enlightened the public about it?

Rest easy, sleep well my brothers.

Know the line has held, your job is done.

Rest easy, sleep well.

Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held.

Peace, peace, and farewell...

Readers may be interested to know that these wreaths -- some 5,000 -- are donated by the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington, Maine. The owner, Merrill Worcester, not only provides the wreaths, but covers the trucking expense as well. He's done this since 1992. A wonderful guy. Also, most years, groups of Maine school kids combine an educational trip to DC with this event to help out. Making this even more remarkable is the fact that Harrington is in one the poorest parts of the state.

You hear too much about the bad things people do. Everyone should hear about this!

Peter - I tuned in to our National Public Radio station yesterday and they were interviewing Mr. Worcester. I just caught the last part, but he said they have had thousands of letters and emails and phone calls, thanking him for his generosity, as a result of the email that's been circulating for the last year showing the wreaths on the graves at Arlington. His company plans to place wreaths at 200 other sites nationwide, in gratitude for the sacrifices Americans are making to defend freedom. What a generous and patriotic American HE is! :thumbsup2

We have been really busy here getting ready for Christmas :goodvibes

Hope everyone is in the spirit of the holidays.

We got room assignments from DCL.

My parents booked a cat 6 and got a cat 6 (on deck 5)

We booked two cat 12 gtys (knowing we would be upgraded to 11s with four people in each). However, dcl has wished us a Merry Christmas early by upgrading us to cat 8s. They are both on deck 5 but not adjacent, but who cares, we have portholes for inside prices. :goodvibes

On an even happier note, I started a job and thus will be able to fund more frequent dcl voyages (perhaps a mediterranean?)

Happy thoughts to you all,
