I can't sit still - but then when I try to do something I can't concentrate. So I am watching funny youtube vids and trying to keep my mind occupied. Meg is still sleeping - she was up until 2am on the phone with her best friend.
My dad went to get the turkey because my car is STUCK and buried in the snow. He has a carport and a clean car, so he did my grocery run - gotta love my daddy!

Well gifts are out under the tree, the camcorder is charged.....I am HYPED!! I usually wake up around 5am on Xmas Morning. Last year I opened my stocking (we put each others stockings in our rooms and open then when we wake up!) and then checked my email - then I couldn't take it anymore and went and woke her up at 5:30am! LOL
I hope I can sleep until at least 5 tomorrow!

Quiet morning here. We are heading to Kzoo to spend the day with 2 of our grandchildren. Tomorrow, we head to Detroit to celebrate Christmas and Alyssa's 12th birthday. Alyssa is my goddaughter (might as well be my 7th grandkid) who has Down Syndrome. Her birthday is 12/24. She wants us to take her to Red Robin so the wait staff can sing happy birthday to her. Afterwards, we head south to Morgantown, WV to spend 4 days with our WV grandkids and kids. Just an FYI: Lyssa has been on two Wonder cruises! She loves the "Big Boat".

Wellll....SHE KNOWS!!!!!
Oh man it was so amazing.
As I said she was half expecting the WDW part, and then it showed the cruise and she sat and cried...she couldnt speak, nothing, just sat there watching the powerpoint and cried and cried. So of course I started to cry.
I will upload the video later on or tomorrow! It was so magical!
She is in complete shock right now!!!!!

Liz- Oh how wonderful for both of you. That is a memory you will treasure always. I was thinking of you both this morning. Way to go. What an awesome mom you are.

We had a little Disney magic here today too. My mom is our travel agent. She lives in California which is why we didn't have our cruise docs yet. She gave them to us this morning as a Christmas gift. She called Disney and told them Rick was a firefighter and this was our first cruise. They upgraded us!!! We have a veranda! So sorry to mess up the FE list but we have moved from Cat #8 room 5018- which was a great room (I hope one of you get it!) to Cat #5 room 7524. We were stunned. Now I have to go to the DCL web site and look at our new room. I hadn't wanted to know what those rooms looked like so I would be happy with ours.

!! Did the 3 and 4 night the 7 should prove to be very relaxing

Merry Christmas to all. It's 78 degrees here in Orlando. Doesn't feel like a northern Christmas but hey, I'll wear shorts a T and some flip flops and call it a day.

LP's M: Thanks for adding us to the list. It'll be my sis, Marinella 36, her ds Christopher 6 and dd Carissa 4 and myself, Rhaj 35. We got main seating, yay!!! Got our cruise docs more than a week ago and just found them in the stack of mail a few days ago.

We plan on being at the port ridiculously early and I'll be wearing a brown t-shirt that says "I HAVE CANDY" so please feel free to introduce yourself. The kids are super friendly, in fact we call Christopher the Mayor because he greets everyone he meets when we are on Dis property.

so excited I don't think I'll get any work done in the next week. I've been reading anything and everything I can about the ship, the activities and whatever else I can find.

Just want to confirm that the DIS meet and greet is at 3 pm on the first day? Where is it again? This thread has gotten so long it's been hard to keep everything straight.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! It was hot here in SE Georgia, we were all in shorts too. I guess in our area, Santa must come in on a jet ski.
Can you believe that it is almost time to cruise? I keep stacking and packing to no avail. I love hearing the stories about the kids being surprised, I am a softy. I will definitely be one of the ones blubbering on the ship when the horn sounds for the first time.
Congrats on the upgrade! This is only our second Disney cruise so I am still a little unsure of their categories and room types. This will be our first inside cabin so I am anxious to see if it really does make a big difference. We have sailed on other cruiselines in various room types, but I still prefer oceanview over balconies and suites, because IMHO, for me, it is the best of both worlds because I can still see out and save money on a balcony. Please let me know if you find this room type to be worth the extra $$$. Thanks! It seems there are soooo many things to think of and learn while cruising!

One of my brothers got me a T-shirt for Christmas. It's lime green with a snow plow on the front and the words "MR. PLOW" across the top. Do you think I should wear that so Rhaj and I stand out a little more at the port???

I can't post the video because she is too embarrassed. 12 is a tender age for self esteem - so we shall keep it private
We just did some packing. We have so much room thanks to my packing cubes! I packed in a med and small suitcase what I needed my xtra large and med suitcase last year and still have some room! Meg is in awe of my packing cubes and hugged them. LOL!!! (less for us to lug around the airport!).
I also bought this incredible bag from lands end that folds down into pretty much nothing, but opens into a huge pink duffle that is perfect to take on excursions, then fill with stuff to bring home.
We leave one week today! OMG!

We are in 2 inside cabins, so you'll have to let us know how the view is! Hope everyone had a great holiday. DH and I have been helping the kids with their new toys all day, we had fun, though. Tomorrow it will be time for a big cleanup! Wow, it's getting so close!!!!

I can't believe it is less than 2 wks till we cruise. we are getting very excited. We will be staying at the Fairfield Inn in Melbourne on the 9th.
