1/10/09- EARLY Roll Call! Who's coming?

Today is a very depressing day since I'm doing those important but crappy chores you have to do before you go on an awesome trip like we are all going on. You know, putting a hold on the mail, making sure all the bills are paid so nothing comes due in the middle of a day at sea, arrange for someone to keep the animals fat, bribe the guys on my shift to watch our house, (lots of burglaries with the poor economy), etc. On top of that the temp jumped to 46 degrees and the fog is so thick I can't see the dog at the end of his lead!

On a happy note I did pick up some of the packing cubes as well. They are really cool! The kids are trying to latch onto all of the larges and leave me and DW with the 2 smalls! Nice try!

This will be the packing cube cruise! All the stateroom dudes (thats what meg calls them) will be saying 'hey did you see this new trend? all the people with fish extenders now have these fancy packing things that keep everything so neat and tidy!'. LOL.

Well we have about 3-4 feet of snow - which is rare where we live. BUT now it is raining and its all going away.
Meg's father is visiting her today - he drops in twice a year (bday and xmas), showers her with gifts to make him look like a good father, takes her out for lunch, and she sees him again in 6 months. LOL. She is old enough now to see through it all. He is so out of touch with her and what she likes its insane. She has to make him detailed lists of things she wants. This year she asked for Breaking Dawn and he phoned me to ask 'can she really read a big book like that?'.
Yah dorko, she is TWELVE and can read - go figure. Not to mention she works at a grade 11 level in most subjects, so that book is just peachy keen for her! LOL.

So other than that, did some packing yesterday and DID YOU SEE MY COUNTDOWN CLOCK!!! NO LONGER SAYS WEEKS - SAYS 6 DAYS!
Meg and I were up until midnight again talking about the trip and she fell asleep in my bed with the passporter beside her!

The cat can sense we are going away and has taken to sleeping on our suitcase (so we can't leave). He does that. My mom will be here a lot while we are gone and look after the cat and stuff. So I don't have to hold mail and stuff.

And well thats about it for Saturday! TTYL!

Well we took our little girl to the airport last Saturday to let her check it out. She loved the escalatior and people mover. The TSA let her go by the metal detector and look at that also. She is very timid when it comes to things she does not think she will like. We give her no reason to be leary of new things. We were suprised that she liked everything so much. She tells us now how excited she is to fly.

Got some packing cubes from ebags, they look really neat! I have "Breaking Dawn" on my bookshelf. I am MAKING myself wait until the cruise to read it. What could be better than sitting on deck with an umbrella drink and the last Twilight?

Ok....so let me ask - who on the FE list has a little girl that is WAY into HSM and Hannah Montana that actually likes to have the merchandise? Let me know their names and they will be getting some extra special FE gifts from Meg, courtesy of my ex-MIL. This woman has no clue!
Meg loves HSM but does NOT want a tote bag with the characters on it,etc... LOL.
She said when she opened it she about died, and then thought "Hmmmmmm FISH EXTENDER GIFT!". LOL.
So let me know - there is all kinds of it and we will divide it up among little girls who like this sort of thing!

Have you or anyone else ever read the annual thread on the Community Board of a DISer's descriptions of the gifts her m-i-l gives them? Do a search for this year's gifts. It'll give you a good laugh for the day.

OK, my DW drives me crazy. She never gets anything for herself, so I secretly schedule a couples massage and a cabana massage for her, (and me too!). She's so bad I have to nag her to get a outfit to wear for dinner cuz she normally only wears sweatpants and a scrub top. So out of the blue she tells me she wants a massage on the cruise for her birthday. I can't win! Now I have to come up with something else to surprise her with. Any suggestions from those who have been on the Magic before? Any extra nice, but not overly pricey, spa treatments? Anything else?
