You guys just have to RUN over to ebags and get these packing cubes! OMG they are amazing. I can't travel light - I simply can't do it. I try, and we end up bringin one HUGE suitcase and one the next size down, plus our carry ons.
Well I have packed everything i possibly can for now (can't do socks, pjs, undies, toiletried and shirts and long pants just yet), and you just roll everything and put them into these cubes. I am going to be able to get everything in one medium and one small suitcase with some room to spare! These things are worth every penny I spent on them.
I bought a set of 3 large cubes and then another set that had 1 large, 1 medium, 1 small and 3 slim cubes.

They are just incredible!

Hey guys I wanted to get your opinion - I have a cat 11 booked and quite happy with it, but if I downgrade to a cat 12 gty, I will get a $250 OBC to use, and probably a really awesome chance of a great upgrade because the ship is so empty.
Would you do it or just stay put?
And moreso, CAN I downgrade this close to the cruise?

Lollipop's mom - how do these work? It seems to me like they'd actually take up more space in the suitcase! I can see how it'd be nice for organizing your stuff - shorts in one, pants in another,etc. I need to borrow (or buy) another suitcase for this trip. My 12 yo's clothes no longer fit into the small suitcase that used to work when he was little. His shoes alone take up 1/2 the bag! (He's a size 9!)

I don't know what to tell you about downgrading. Isn't there a penalty at this point to change your ressie?

I don't think my family is going to get one of these awesome upgrades, unfortunately. We're a family of 6 and we have connecting rooms. Wouldn't that make us a difficult upgrade? I mean, we don't fit into one room (except the sold out family suites). And it would be unlikely that there'd be two connecting rooms for us to upgrade to. Oh well. My sis is on this cruise and they're always lucky with upgrades. We'll just crash in her room!!

I don't know how exactly, but trust me they work! I usually fold or lay clothing flat, but with it all rolled I can fit so much into them. They are soft sided as well, so you can really squish them in if you need and also pack shoes around them too I guess. All I know is right now I have packed 75% of my stuff and there is still tons of room. I have one small one that is only swimsuits. There is still room in it for flip flops or something. I have another that is only our 'good dinner' clothing and still room for our good shoes (trying to find one sandal that has gone awol!). These are just incredible!

Just checked this morning and Carla and I have not been assigned a stateroom -- YET.

This is the first cruise that I booked a GTY. My DH and I usually book specific staterooms. For our November 2010 Wonder cruise with kids and grandkids, we were able to book two SPH rooms and a sideways room across from us. I love both of these staterooms.

I saw that the people leaving on the 8th were getting their assignments (and upgrades!). I checked mine and we're still a cat 10!

LOVING the snow here in MI too! It's SO pretty. They kept promising snow and now we're finally getting it! I opted not to run today until the snow stops coming down.

Still no room change for us either. Oh well, as long as we are on the ship, I'd sleep in the broom closet!

We live in south GA, about as close as you can get without being in FL, and the weather here today is dreary, overcast and misting rain. Yuk!

I am trying to get things together in one spot to pack and unpack! It never ends and I am determined NOT to overpack this time.

I changed our excursion in Cozumel from Snuba to the Atlantis submarine because with the Snuba, I was still a little freaked about the weight belt and time limit before you can come to the surface rule.

I am just looking forward to getting away that I really don't care if we sailed in circles!

Time to get back to laundry & cleaning, I have procrastinated enough! Have a great day!

There are still so many i have pm'd and not heard back from for the FE. Don't forget the 15th is the deadline, and I will pm again around the 13th, but if I don't hear, I will have to take you off the list.

Also - OMG you guys the empty rooms on this ship! Its just insane.
I was thinking of something - and you know how Disney upgrades/upsells their hotel rooms - and most of the time they are sending people to SSR, hoping they will fall in love and buy DVC? Well maybe they will say 'lets clear out the inside rooms' and then get all of use cheapie inside people hooked on windows and balconies so we feel we could never book another inside room. LOL. (ok its a stretch.......but you never know!).

How old is Meg again? I can't believe you've been able to hold out this long!!! I'd love to see her reaction.

I'm SO hoping you're right about the upgrades!! We booked two inside rooms. I'd love to test your theory about a window or balcony (or a suite, if I must). It'd be hard, but I'd find a way. I'm just that kind of girl!
