I like Lisa because she didn't take the bribe money on that one luxury competition like the other 4 did. Anyway it will be interesting to see who wins HOH this week.

Evening all, for me, I can't wait until next Thursday night for the season premiere of will and grace. We love that show.
Dad is still feeling crummy, but mom and I made hime "do the loop" around the nurses station. will spend tomorrow morning with him then I plan on packing one suitcase.

Have one question. i have a littel notebook I have been jotting things in and just wondered about Captain Marvins. I dont' think I saw anywhere how we get there. Are there taxis or what? Also, are you all bringing beach towels? I think I will bring some of our old pool towels and then just ditch them afterwards.

Have decided to make a couple of purchases at a pharmacy in Cozemel. NOt anything bad. Just some retin A cream. My insurance won't cover it and It works great.

Still dont' know about the real dining times.
Anyone???

Ave -- I love the pronouniation of your name! When I read your name way back when I first found this thread I wondered how you pronounce it and if that was the correct way.

Elaine -- I was wondering the same thing about Capt Marvins. It says bring towels -- do we bring towels from home? I guess so.

Towels...we can pick up towels for the Capt. Marvin trip from the ship. No need to pack any.Just stop by the pool before leaving the ship and get some there.Also we can walk from the ship to the Capt. Marvins office. We get a van ride from there to the boat.

I think I will get some Retin A and some Cipro in Mexico.

I am bringing 2 beach towels since I think we do not need 3 since I think the Castaway gift is a towel. I thought we could use them at Sanchos Beach and Holiday Inn Caymans.

As I mentioned before, my girlfriend, Lynn who is single is coming. She is staying in a veranda suite on the 7th flr; we are on the 5th floor. I told her everyone is so friendly and there are also some women coming without their spouses too. She has been to Caymans and loves it! She will be going to the Brunch with us as well and will be there at the Radison at 8. Her name is Lynn Reed.
I am so glad she is coming!

We can not wait to start the vacation. Chloe's Kindergarten teacher has no problem with her missing 6 school days. She just wants her to keep a journal and she will give me some math homework to do while on the ship. It is amazing to me what kids learn in Kindergarten; it is equivalent to what I was learning in the 1st grade! But that was so long ago!

Another work day over! Just 3 more, I can't stand it! This time next week we will be driving down the bee-line heading for the Cape. Thanks for everyone's kind words reguarding Palo's. I was and still am a bit nervous about the whole planning thing since I've never been on a cruise before. Trial by fire I guess!
We are hoping to leave home by noon on Friday. as long as we make good time, we should get to the Radisson around 8pm. So you all will be seeing me and my family at our rumpled best.

Hello all,

I need help from all of you scrapbookers. I went to a demonstration tonight, my problem is I am a "hobby quitter". I get bored with hobbies real fast. My question is how long does it take you to actually complete a book? And are there any "hobby quitters" like me out there that are still doing it.

I really would like to do it, but deep down do not want to spend money on something I will give up on.

Also, do you buy your scrapbooking stuff from a local arts and crafts store - or do you buy from the demonstrators?

Any suggestions - greatly appreciated.

A week from tonite - we will be flying in (UsAir has not changed my time going down - but they did coming back). Still not completely finished packing - currently suffering from "how many shoes do we actually need - dilemma?" When I suffer a dilemma - I quit packing. Please note the shoe problem is NOT my problem.

I can relate you what you are saying. However, I must admit that scrapbooking has become an addiction for me rather than a hobby. Every picture I take I am making mental notes about how to scrap it. You also have to get very picky if you take loads of pictures. I take about a roll a month now. When I first started, six years ago I got so addicted to it that I was taking a roll a week! I now take pictures but pick out the best and only scrap them. I buy my stuff from a variety of places. Mostly our local scrapbook stores. I have a whole room for scrapping! Enough supplies so that wehn i wake at 2 am and can't sleep I can go up there and do a page. Would love to talk to you more about it. Maybe at the sailaway party. There is also a forum here for scrapbooking. Happy Scrapping! Elaine

Hi all, I am getting way depressed now. Decided I needed to get all the documents filled out and the passports put togethery
Eeeeeeeek Can't find the passports! We used them in Feb. on our last cruise and I KNOW i put them somewhere safe. We can get new ones done overnight. so if I don't find them this weekedn I will do that on Monday. Williams birthcertificate is fine, but mine is an old English one and I don't want to have problems. Passports make it so much easier!
got the suitcases on the floor in my room. The dogs are already giving me that "you're leaving us AGAIN?" look. My good friend is staying here with the two remaining children, so they(the dogs) will not be aloneduring the day. She will"potter" all day. As she likes to say. I will come home to tidied out kitchen drawers and an immaculate house. All laundry done and ironed and two very happy children. The dogs I can't please no matter who I have here. Oh, well. they will survive. They have each other.
Mom took dad's "baby" in to see him tonight. I think he is starting to feel better, because he is starting to complain and say he needs to go home!
Got a nice compact bottle of OFF today (for the skeeters). Thank God I also called to confirm the Avis cars. Did I make a big boo boo. I had booked both cars at the Radisson. Rather than the Orlando one the day we arrive. Was able to change it and still got the good rate of $35. Pretty good!
Am getting the "puter stuff and "digical" (as my english uncle calls it) camera stuff all ready. Gotta get the one dollar bills for the room service. (Can;'t wait till next Sunday am. Will be sitting on the Verandah in the early a.m. drinking coffe and munching on the famous chocolate croissants.

Hello to all! Well gang it finally got here the last week countdown. Dennis glad to see you arrived home safe and sound to bad about the list will be finishing up mine this weekend. Must have it complete before Sunday at 1:00 EAGLES /dallas. I have a question for all DVC people. When did we loose the discount for park tickets the 4/5 day hopper type some of the people I work with said we only get a length of stay discount now and I don't want that. CSI best show on TV next to Friends can't wait for Miami CSI was an avid ER viewer but gone on too long now and too many of the great cast has left. Will be cooking all this weekend to fill the fridge for DS Patrick. He is also a good cook but with school and job doesn't have the time. Hope everybody has a great weekend and a safe healthy next week. I can't believe I will be in the airport this time next saturday. Ps lets all get the mini novena going for the weather. See Ya!

Tiramisu


4 egg yolks (FRESH as possible)
1/2 cup fine sugar
3 TBS coffee liqueur
l lb mascarpone cheese
4 egg whites
1/2 cup fine sugar
1 1/2 cups very strong coffee
24 ladyfingers (a cookie biscuit)
2 TBS powdered cocoa (unsweetened)


Combine egg yolks and 1/2 cup of sugar in bowl. Whip until thick and white, adding the coffee liqueur and cheese.
Set aside.

In another bowl, whip egg whites into peaks and fold them GENTLY in the egg yolk mixture with a spatula until the whole mixture is homogenous.
Set aside.

Dissolve 1/2 cup of sugar in coffee. Dip 12 ladyfingers in the coffee individually, then lay them side by side on the bottom of a 9" casserole dish.

Pour 1/2 of the creamy mixture over the ladyfingers, and add the remaining 12 ladyfingers dipped individually in the coffee on the top of this.

Pour the remainder of the mixture on this layer.
Powder cocoa and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.

Serves 6-8 people.


I've been very successful with this recipe. I was given it when I lived in Italy by the Italian family I was stayed with. Mrs. Marino said the most important things are FRESH eggs, real mascarpone cheese and good quality coffee liqueur.

Just to let you all know that the tornados that struck Indiana were south of us and although we had torrential rains and winds gusts - we are okay.

Just so odd to have a tornado warning in late September in Indiana.

Michael LOVES school still and it is showing in his behavior. Much improved. Maybe because Mama is more relaxed and happy now?!!!

George and/or Barbara (whoever asked)--Unless you joined the DVC in the first few years (when you received free passes for X amount of days), there has never been a discount for DVC unless you bought length-of-stay at the resort. This is the official policy. Disney Stores (and WDW and DL) have offered discounts with Disney Club (formerly Magic Kingdom Club) membership, but never with DVC. Unfortunately, many CM's made an error and gave the discount with DVC cards. Trust me, we have been told this many, many times. There is a discount on Disney Store merchandise with DVC, but not on passports. No way.

There is actually a lot of confusion with passport prices since 9/8/02. My understanding (which may be wrong, but this is how it was explained to me) is that the park prices were raised on hopper passes on 9/8. Disney Stores stopped selling Disney Club 4- and 5-day hoppers on 9/10. You can still purchase a 4- or 5-day hopper at the former WDW price at Disney Stores, but if you wait until you get to WDW, the price per pass will be higher.

Let me know if I didn't explain this very well. Believe it or not, I think I understand it better than my co-workers. They usually ask me to come and explain it to guests.

Work this afternoon, tomorrow morning, and all day Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Ed is worried that I'll be sick of Disney by the time we leave. There is a BIG difference between my Disney Store and the REAL Disney--WDW and DCL!!!!
