09/28/2002 Cruise

Well we had about the most expensive DL trip ever. When we got to the rental counter the guy said for $7 more a day I can get you into a mini van so my dear husband thought that would be great. Well we fell in love with it and less than a week later we now own one! It has a temperature zone for all three of us. Has anyone heard of anything more ridiculous than a minivan for 3 people?! However, if you've ever traveled in a car with my son then you might understand why 5 seats just for him was a good idea.

We froze. Patty I hope your weather is much better than ours but we still had a blast. We also went on Soarin over California and thought that was one of the best rides we had ever been on. My son also got brave and rode California Screamin all by himself. We are still trying to recover but had a great time.

Yes Ave, you bring your before and after pics and I'll bring my pictures of inside my stomach. We'll have all the food to ourselves!:D I think I'll look up your procedure later and ask my dentist about it. I am trying to hang onto my teeth and after 3 kids I have been able to. I have a sister in law who lost quite a few with her first pregnancy. She took all her prenatal vitamins and extra calcium but lost them anyway. My mother called false teeth "Porcelins" (Sp) You know, like the sink.:)

I am going this a.m. to Stacey's apartment in Lebanon, Tn. to help her with her "nesting". Actually, I am going to get Katie's things rewashed and vacuum, and put stuff up and just in general help with 'things'. It is driving her crazy to laze around so much. The doctor told her yesterday that Katie was a still breech and looks like a C/section around the 20th of May. Katie is growing by leaps and bounds now, despite Stacey's high blood pressure, and is the size of a 34 weeker. The May 20th date will put Katie at 37 weeks. Stacey is very sure of the dates. Stacey is not seeing the bright flashes of light as much as before bedrest. Whew! (I think) Her hubby is going to Golf Class this morning. What's up with that? Actually I am glad he will be out of the way. ;)

Thanks for the info for Stacey Mary, I gave it to her.

Tiiiigergirl, Mike and I nearly did the same thing several years ago. We took our station wagon to Disney World and the Toyota Previas had just come out. I just fell in love with the lima bean shape of them and the fact that you could have TWO different climate controls was just wonderful. We even went to the dealership in Orlando and priced one. I was holding my breath until DH said "Lets go back to the hotel and think about it". Whew! That was the closest we have ever come to doing that so far from home. It was exciting to think about though.

Well, I'm off to Lebanon, take care, Kathy

And to think that we used to laugh at our elders when they were quick to talk about their surgeries! Seriously, Hope the dental procedure goes Ok and that Kathy's stomach calms down .... just keep in mind you need to be in shape enough to pound down all that good food and deserts on the Magic!

I did a post yesterday but have no idea where it went...

Is it possible that Katie dosen't have enough amniotic fluid to get her right cheeks facing out? Hope Kathy and Stacie had a nice day "nesting".

Say in the paper that Carnival got slapped again for dumping waste in the sea. Had some people poking fun at me for Disney's fire ... at least they try and incinerate the stuff!

OK the other day it was 90 here and this morning there was snow on my roof ... What's up with that!

Mike ... what are you and Kathy going to be called when Katie arrives? GrandPa, PopPop, GrandPapa ..... just wondering.

Check back later....

Ok, this is my last post about my surgery. I am bringing 8x10 color glossy pictures of the whole prodedure, start to finish. I have already purchased a special photo album to hold the pictures. It is bright red with large cartoon tooth on the cover. I will carry it with me the entire cruise, with the exception of formal night. (I do have some class). Anyone brave enought to ask, will see the inside of my jaw in vivid color. :p :D :)

Good morning all. Is it September yet????? Are we there yet???
Oh well I guess that I will just have to wait.

I can tell it is spring now here in Nashville. All the trees have leaves on them and the grass needs cutting about every 5 days now. Especially now with all the rain that we are getting.

Guess that I had better get off of here and get some breakfast done. Oh by the way, no luck yet with the ditigtizing on the logo. Guess that we will have to use transfer paper and iron the logo's on the shirts. Mike

I look forward to your pics Twinave, just so you know, turn about, fair play.:D

Stacey and I had a wonderful time yesterday. She laid on the couch and pointed and clicked my way through the apartment. I put the whoa on picking up dirty clothes and doing dirty dishes. (Sorta) Well, I didn't do the dishes. That is her hubby's job. We tried to put together a small chest of drawers for Katie's clothes but it said it needed a phillips head screwdriver but nothing about needing power behind it! We got one screw half way into the wood and had to stop cause it wouldn't go any further. Mike is going up there today with a power screwdriver. Men and power tools, what would we do without them?

Actually, DD1 who loves to work on cars, got the first electric screwdriver here and Mike nearly ruined it when he discovered the joys of power. :D

We sat on the couch and I got to play with Katie. She kicked my hand and turned over with her back to me and jumped when I started the vacuum. It was a really nice day.

Today I have been a sewing fiend. Got up at 5 a.m. and started on her quilt and sewed for 5 hours straight. It is so relaxing. I can just see the little squirt in it. It is made with 3 diamond shapes in 3 different colors and is called "Tumbling Blocks" the diamond shape gives it a look of a child's block. I have made some diaper shirts for Katie but I think I will let Stacey sew the buttons on them. She can do that while reclining. Oh yes, Cathy, the doc said since Stace has been resting that the aminotic fluid has built back up. Katie is just being stubborn. Like most of us girls. ;)

It has been thundering and lightening all morning. The rain has been awful. But I am happy. ;) I got to play with my DGD yesterday, (sort of) visited with DD2, and sewed today. Got to work tonight with my other babies.

On that note, have a great day. Take care, the lightening is getting closer, I gotta get off. Kathy

That's too long to wait Mary:( :( :( Mike

Mike, If you look back at the first page of this thread the count down then was 351!!!!!! We have come a LONG WAY!

OK, I give up. Can someone tell me how I can add the list of previous Disney vacations so that they show up like the rest of you have? Also, why am I a "Welcome Guest" and not a "Disney Vet" . Does it have to do with the amount of posts you send? I have been fooling with the Enhanced Mode. Will try RED with this post and see if I can do anything right. Later, Ave

Ave it takes 75 posts to make it to veteran status. Let me correct that. It used to. Go to cp which is control panel and in the signature box, type in the information that you want to appear at the end of each post. I think now that you can change it to read veteran at that time also. Mike

Kathy the quilt you are sewing sounds darling. I really like that pattern. I like looking at quilts and like the idea of sewing quilts. I really like buying fabric for quilts (I have enough to slip-cover a herd of elephants) I just don't think I like the actual sewing. Anyone notice a problem here.

Well Brandon got everything passed off and he advances to the Bear rank in the cub scouts tonight. The last thing he needed to do was tour a fire station and was very excited because he got to blow the horn. Ooowwwwww! is it loud.

What an awful day I had here. My very first Customer....A young man and his fiance' booked their honeymoon cruise with me many months ago. They were to be married in 1 month and leave on their honeymoon.
They called a meeting with all of us this morning to tell us that both had been killed in a car accident yesterday. This is someone that I work with every single day, and I am still in a fog. We had all received wedding invitations last week, and I had been collecting money for a wedding gift, a romance package to be delivered to them on their cruise. Those contributions will now be turned into flowers for a funeral. Something is so wrong with this picture!!!!

Patty

Oh no. This is so awful. Patty, I am so sorry. I am in tears for you and for your friends. Your company has been through so much as of late. And your friends and customer. This must be so hard on you.

We will pray for you and you family at home and at work.

Karen

Thoughts and prayers to you Patty. Hope that things start to get better for you soon.

Tiiiiger congratulations on Brandon's advancement to the Bear rank.

Karen is your trip to wdw today or was it last week? Senior moment. (can't remember)

Mike

Yes, we leave this afternoon!!!!!!!

We stop in Atlanta to see friends from college. Seems their kid is old enough to watch our kid. (Did we all grow up when I wasn't looking?)

Then we head to Orlando. The last time we were there was just after our cruise!!!

We are looking forward to the pool at AKL. Looking forward to our breakfast at Cindys. (LaTanya :) ) Annabelle will be so excited!

Everyone have a great week. Stay safe, and healthy, and chatty so I have an easy time finding this thread when I return.

Karen :D

Hello All,
Have enjoyed reading all your posts from the past week, Have been in hospital, No Fun. Had gallbladder out and three hernias repaired. We have a great surgeon here who uses a robot and does it laproscopically. So....stupid me thought, no incision, no pain. What a dope I am. Agony!!! Ended up in the hospital for five days instead of ovenight. Still don't feel too great but am getting there. Only thing I am upset about is my trip in two weeks. My two friends and are are supposed to be going to dw. Just us girls form May 13th-17th. Hope two weeks works miracles on the pain scale. I guess if worse comes to worse, I will just go down and sit by the pool at Dixie Landings!

I got our september cruise all finished up as far as the reservations go. William is definitely going. They gave us a $900 credit for the "won" portion of the cruise and we just had to pay the difference to upgrade to a cabin with a verandah and add "the boy" He is already talking about playing "Mouseketeer" again. Told him not to get his hopes up! Feels good to have the trip all paid for. Will they send our documents soon??? Just have to do the airfare! Whew this was a long one Sorry!!! Elaine:Pinkbounc

Dear Elaine--Hope you are feeling better every day. I wish you a wonderful, relaxing trip with your friends. Ed says that he is willing to back William on any Mouseketeer program anytime. We had such a great time watching him go all the way to the top of the prizes last September.

Riker (the best Schnauzer in our world) is doing pretty well in his adjustment to insulin injections. So, we hope to be on the 9/28 cruise. The reservations are made, and as long as he's doing okay, we are ready and raring to be on the ship.

I'm taking a quickie trip to WDW from May 16-21 with one of my best friends. (Quick in the sense that we planned it last week!) She has been through some hard times lately, so we plan to relax and enjoy. Ed will be in charge of Riker, so no worries in that area.

Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful spring.

Karen

Karen: William says he would love all help! Says he WILL Win Again! A very determined young man! Our trip will overlap yours. Where are you staying? We are having breakfast at Cinderella's one morning. First time for that. We were wondering about dinner at Boma one night. Have heard several good comments about that restaurant.

Have you ever heard anything else from Dee?

Peagreenid, Is your trip coming up soon to Disneyland? My mom and I are going June 9-12 will just my six year old. Have heard it is a slow time before the busy season. Let my know how your trip turns out.

Papa and Wife! I looked at Tulirose's album and it was neat to put a face to a picture. I will know who to look for on the cruise.

Have a nice week end all. Elaine

Nice to see you guys again. I was wondering where you went.

Elaine, in two weeks you will be feeling MUCH better!Your doc (and everyone eles for that matter) are mail out apx 4-6 weeks prior to sail date. Mid July or thereabouts.
Have a wonderful trip to WDW!
