Gosh, I spend a few hours AWAY from the computer and when I return you guys get passed the 1000 mark!

Our flight to NY leaves at 6am on Thursday, so we have to be there at 4AM!!!So I have to get up at 3AM!!!????YIKKEES!
Oh well, I'll be in NY for breakfast!Seams funny to have to be at the airport 2 hours before your flight, when my flight will not even LAST 2 hours!

BethE...wonderful news about getting in the night before. It is so nice to begin your cruise day, being only a mile from the port. VERY stress free! It is also nice for the kids to meet other kids before they are overwhelmed with all the excitment of boarding.The Radisson is a very nice place to stay. You could rent a car at the airport and drop it at the Radisson. Then take the free shuttle over to the port in the morning.If you look at your DIS cruise list you will see a bunch of us will be at the Radisson.I am guessing we will meet at the pool for a cocktail, while the kids meet and swim.
Also Beth if you would like to see a picture of me and my family, go to the family album on the DIS Board (main dissuction, MISC, the family album) and you will find pictures of us. Also you can see picyures of Wendy under "meet the team". Since TwinAve and I are identical twins...if you see a pic of me,well you get the idea!LOL!
Cathy, I plan on staying very safe this 4th of July. In fact I am not going to leave my brothers house!LOL. He is having a family get together (his wife's family)Bar-B-Q. I just hope the weather is clear. Somehow I have the feeling I will be drafted into helping him cook for everyone!(which I will be happy to do!)

Kathy and Cathy....come to Stingray City with us!!!We are booked with Capt. Marvin 10am trip.I need one more adult in our groip as DBIL is going diving, and I have reservations for 4 adults 4 kids. I am told the boat takes about 15-20 people at a time. So make your reservations!Kathy...I am holding the spot for you unless you tell me NOT to.
@GoofyNut (Cathy) I do not know who Patrick is. I think it is someone son who is NOT going but I have misplaced my 1st "List" which had that info.
Congrats on beating Dan to post 1000.

Mary -- Thanks for the info on where to find your picture! I'm going to go and look for it now. I noticed the two twin names and I was wondering if you were really twins -- that's very cool!

I've actually met Wendy before. But I have never met the rest of her family.

There is no pic of me at the Meet The Team section because generally speaking I hate the way I photograph and because I am trying to lose weight. Maybe then I will like the way I look in photos.

Mary ... PM me with how I have to get hooked up with you guys for Stingray City. I just have to make sure Art is set up with Mike or someone else. The article in Cruise Travel was really nice and Art even pointed it out to me! Just hope that a so-so swimmer will be OK.

As soon as this heat wave breaks I'm goiing to finish up the "packages" for the last few that asked. I still don't have the snail mail address for a few ... so if you read this and didn't get a "package" in the mail ... PM me with your address. For those who did get the package but hadn't let me know ... well let me know!

Has anyone found their Iron (LOL) and tried the thingy's? Now what do you think if you did? Any problems, let me know.

Just wondering, anyone else thinking about bringing American Flags to wave, like last year? That was really nice.

@Goofynut, yes found the iron, but have not made it to the store to buy the shirts yet. Busy weekend planned, but hope to get to it next week. I'll let you know how it goes. Keeping my fingers crossed. You have to come on the sringray trip with us. Then there will be 2 DisCruisers with the same name, and 2 with the same face. LOL
Crazy week at work, training 2 new nurses, and lost 2 medical assistants, 1 quit, 1 got fired. Oh well. Got to just keep plugging along.

Mary just made the reservation for Kathy for capt marvins so she is set. Looks like it is going to be a girl thing with the portabellow mushrooms(stingrays). Talked to Cathy tonight and she and Art are doing well and are enjoying their pool.

Hope that everyone is going to have a great 4th of July tomorrow and don't eat too many hamburgers and hot dogs.

Hello from Alaska ... again ... Have been a bit busy since my arrival here about two months ago - Would like to say that it has been all Fishing & Golfing but alas I cannot ... Mostly been work.
Some golf and a single halibut fishing trip. Got some small halibut, approximately 40 pounds. Was entertained by an abundance of wildlife (dolphins, puffins, seals, sea otters etc.) Included a breaching humpback whale that lasted for almost an hour ~ only about 1/2 mile from the boat. Just too much fun in the sun. Alabama has come to visit for a few weeks which is even more fun for this habitually geographical bachelor.

Weather in Alaska has been absolutely balmy at 70-75 degrees. Rain today for the first time in a month. Promises to be good trout fishing for the 4th of July weekend!!!

Hey Mary and all my fellow cruisers, happy 4th of July. Mary I did mention the dis group from the magic on the 1st of October the 10 to 1 trip. I think that you girls are going to have a blast. Art and I are going to do a snorkel excursion there on grand cayman. Would George and some of the rest of the guys care to join us?

I believe that a dis brunch would be a great thing to do. Say monday the 30th at 10am maybe? You know how us waistband challanged people are. Always ready for a meal

Hey Dennis try not to do too much fishing there in Alaska. Save some energy for our cruise.

Papa ~ Now, now I have been working diligently and have not even gotten my waders wet this summer. Staggering thought!!! Good news is that I have three salmon/halibut trips planned for August timeframe and rainbow trout trip planned for early Sept. Additionally staggering thought is that the countdown clock also gives me a pretty good indication on how many days until snow!
Since I have been my usually diligent self about planning cruise excursions and done absolutely nothing, would be very interested in joining you for snorkeling in Grand Caymans.

Mary ~ I will study diligently and be prepared for the test. Of course, I assume that an Alaska pin will buy a passing grade.

Anyone else out there from Alaska yet?

Mike, thanks for the well wishes. I think these 2 nurses are keepers, at least I hope so. It's been so long since we have had a full nursing staff. I won't know how to act. LOL
Dennis, How do I get a pin? I could get the test in advance. I happen to know the test giver. My DH spent several years in Fairbanks. His dad was the Comander of the 171st Infantry Bridgage ( Army) when they were stationed there. They were able to see quite a bit of the great state, did a lot of fishing and hunting. He promised to take me to Alaska for our 10 year WA, but we have passed our 13th WA now and still no trip. Of course we had a few additions to our lives since or wedding. Thier names are Mary and Casey! LOL
Beth, can't wait to see you at the Raddison. We will be there sometime in the early evening.
Mary, Your DH and DD arrived safely. We will be enjoying the fireworks at Dr. Gregs tonight. Miss you!

Beth, Oh my goodness. I just read you are a scrapbooker! I just completed my second disney scrapbook. Have been scrapbooking for about six years now. In fact, I am bringing my "small" cropper hopper along with me. I am pre cutting out everything and assembling Pages. Then I will just put them together.
I booked Captain Marvins for all three us.
It is a warm day here. Just had a fire burn 500 acreas over the ridge from us. We saw the smoke at 2 and called 911. The helicopters have been out in full force picking up water from our reservoir. Its been interesting. Fire is just about contained.
Papa, I saw you mention creme brulee once. I tried a new receipe today and it was YUKKY! Do you have a good receipe you would share? Do you use a small torch to brown the top?

Elaine I will have to look it up for you. I don't make it too much anymore my cardiologist kind of frowns on it. I brown it under the broiler and don't use a blow torch. When I find the recipe I will email it to you. Mike

Trying to catch up on all the posts then get my bath cause I gotta go and get my "welfare check" as we call it at the hospital, today and then go and get -KATIE- I get to baby sit all day today while her mama catches up on some art work she needs to finish before her last classes start at school. I am so excited because I have hardly gotten any time with her due to working and then I got a really nasty summer cold and had to stay away from her. Had to wear a yucky mask at work too. But now am better and get to play!

Mary I tried and tried to get Mike to tell you that I wanted to go with you on the stingray trip and he thought he had to book (pay) for it from here. I still want to be included in your group! I think we will have a great time. My sister and I had a lovely time doing it 2 years ago and I thought she wouldn't even get into the water with the stingrays but she was in it before I was and stayed in longer! She is leary of bugs and doesn't like to fish but she sure did enjoy those stingrays. I freaked out and was screaming when one schooched up my leg and just hung out with me for a little while. The operator of the boat told me that the ray was begging and loved the salt (?) on my leg. (They live in salt water) I think he was just pulling my leg, so to speak. After I calmed down I had a blast. The water is only about waist high and clear. (I am 5'2") So there is no real danger of drowning. The boat we were on had rum punch and plain punch afterwards. I needed the rum punch. Be sure to bring a disposible underwater camera!

Wow, a small fish that is 40 pounds! My mother caught a 50 pound catfish once that dragged her all over the Shoals Creek in Florence, Alabama once. She tried for over an hour to haul that thing into the boat but had to wait until the fight was gone before she could land him. He was a blue channel catfish and was mighty tasty. My grandmother baked him in nothing but salt, pepper and butter in foil. It did not take 8 kids, my mom and dad and grandparents long to finish him off either.

Mike is up now, I guess I had better get my shower so we can go. Take care everyone I am trying to catch up a little at a time. No, I haven't put the logos on any tee shirts yet, Cathy. My house husband hasn't washed the shirts he got for us yet. If I remember right you have to wash the sizing out of the shirts before you put the logos on or they will just come off with the first washing.
