09/28/2002 Cruise

I don't frequent the Cruise Board that often (or at least I haven't until now) but we've recently booked the 9/28 cruise so I thought I'd pop in and say hi. Hi. I'm not sure, though, I'll ever have the energy to read 68 pages worth of messages.

We're just starting to go through excursions and trying to decide which ones we're going to do.

- Mike

Welcome Mike .... now we have 2 Mikes. You will see thru this thread that we are a fun bunch. If you'd like you can E-mail Relling-Twin your info and she can include you on our log of DIS Cruisears. If you want a "package" from me, PM me your snail-maill address and i'll get it out asap.

Nice to hear from Dennis .... was starting to worry.

Hope Mary & Rosemary had fun for the weekend and get home safely.

Tonite's another baseball game with fireworks.

Check on you later.....

Welcome aboard Mike. If you would like email rellingtwin just give her your dis name, first names and ages cabin number if you like and dinner seating whether main or late and she can sent you a list with the rest of us on it so that you can get aquainted with us all.

Some of the ladies are booked with capt marvin for the snorkel tour to stingray city on grand cayman. Some of us guys are going on the shipwreck and reef snorkeling tour there.

We haven't decided on key west excursions yet. You will have to hook up with Dennis who is working in Alaska and y'all can swap fish tales:D

Mary and George W. were here and we had a very nice visit. They seem to be enjoying their stay in NY very much. George swims like a fish and he loved playing with the kitten we have temporarily. Took a few snapshots. Too late to post, maybe tomorrow.

Hi to all.

Mary:

No problem, I will have your pin, you will just need to locate me.
Your pin will be the 172d Infantry Brigade Polar Bear - Okay?
When was your DH in Fairbanks? I will be there sometime in the next few weeks. Have a few chores to do at Ft Wainwright.

Mike - Canada: Welcome aboard! Fisherman? Golfer?

Brunch anytime .......... and snacks in between!!!

Another fine day in Alaska today ~68-70 & sunny.

HH&GB

Any day is a good day for brunch. We would like to be included as well if we can. We consider that one of the highlights of the trip last year.

Sorry for the confusion Dennis, my name is Ave. I am Rellingtwin's (Mary) twin sister. My DH was in Fairbanks from 1971-73 stationed with his family at Ft. Wainwright. We are not hard to tell apart, I am the smart, pretty, nice twin. Mary is the dumb, ugly, evil twin. LOL Of course she may tell a different story.;)
Welcome to MikeJ. Glad to have you on"board".
Rellingtwin's hubby has been here for the long weekend. He just put down new tile in the master bath. It looks great.
12 weeks to go!:bounce: :bounce:
Twinave (Ave') The nice twin!:p

Hi Folks,
we're back!!
Congratulations on breaking the 1000-post-barrier!!!

@Ave: You MUST join Cruisetoberfest II - I love your humour. Even so it goes on the expense of my friend Mary :jester:
I think we will be perfect matches.
Just for the record: To be German AND to have humour is not a paradoxon - Ask your sis ;)

Viking: I am really wanting to go on the 10/03 cruise with the rest of the crew. But we are waiting to see how DH reacts to the 9/02 trip. He loves Disney, but is not always open to new things. DH is a German born citizen, he was born in Mainhiem (sp?). His parent were stationed there and adopted him as an infant. He is very proud of his background.
I know you have a great sense of humor if you can be involved with the "dunk the Kraut" episode. I think you and Mark would like each other.
Don't worry about me polking fun at my "womb-mate". We do it all the time.;) She has to love me no matter what. Those are the rules. :p Ave

Count me and my family in on the 9-28-02 cruise...also bringing along 5 other families too...cannot wait...would love to meet some fellow DIS on the ship...anything planned?

Welcome aboard Colins Mom. We are planning a dis meet on the 28th on deck 10 . A brunch on Monday the 1st of October at 10 in Palo's.

Eric and Anja welcome back home from your holiday. I am sure that you both had a blast touring in your new convertible.

Hey Ave did you know that Eric can yodel and wears leiderhosen when he swims in the pool:p

Cathy has Art practiced snorkeling in the pool? Hope that he has not drank too much of the water:D

Welcome aboard to the new ones. Wow! 5 families at once! How nice for you. I keep after my three to book but they have other irons in the fires.

It was nice to keep Katie during the night but now I know why God does not give older people babies. They can wear you out!;) Her mama and daddy came to get her last evening around 5 pm and I was one pooped puppy. Even had to take a nap at one point. I hated to admit it too but I was glad when she went home. :o But today Katie is coming back to spend the night again with her Grandpapa and Grandmama is going to go to work! I'll be up all night with those babies at work and will not be nearly as tired. So what's up with that?

Eric, I told one of the doctors at work about your new car and caught him looking at it on the internet later. I asked him if he was going to get one. :D Boy is it pretty.

Hello Rosemary, can't wait to cruise with you and Rich again.

Hi Mike J good to have you along too. Mike and I are going to see the exhibit on the Atochia treasure at the Mel Fisher store. I don't know exactly where it is but we are going to do that instead of diving due to the sharks. :earseek: (And the fact that Mike and I haven't dived in years.) If anyone comes up with something more fun we are game.

eshannon, I will remind Mike to get that recipe for you.

Take care everyone. Going to see MIB today. Kathy

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: WOW ... 5 more families!

Hope the ship dosen't list to one side when we have our sail-away party overlooking the goofy Pool.

We'd love to do the brunch too! Dumb ? ... what is the dress code besides elastic waist.

Mary ... save me that space on Capt Marvin's and PM me with what I need to do. Gotta get another water camera so I can prove i did it. That is if I get the nerve to get off the boat!

EShannon ... I mailed out a package to you already but seems I didn't have your correct snail-mail address. I bet there is someone out there wondering what the heck they got!!!

For all the new families and Wendy, PowerAlaska, KellyR & BethE ....IF YOU WANT A PACKAGE, PM ME WITH YOUR SNAIL-MAIL ADDRESS!

:bounce: Don't forget to make sure Mary - RellingTwin has the names (correct spelling) of the people in your families. That is where I get them to make the name tags. Guess I'll have a lot more to do!

Well chores are calling .... Check back later.

Twinave: I suspect that your hubby was born in Mannheim, which is located about 55 miles due south from my hometown, Frankfurt. I further suspect that your father-in-law was stationed at the Coleman Airbase, which is the largest US-installation in Mannheim. I have a couple of colleagues commuting daily from Mannheim as on the Autobahn it's just a 30minute-trip - That is if you depart before 7 am, after that it's pure hell. If it really is Mannheim, where hubby's dad was born and he wants specific info about it, broschures or pictures, just mail me and I get it for you.

Papa: Did you also tell Ave that my Lederhosen tend to shrink in the water and that therefore I'm only allowed to wear them in the adults pool. And the more they shrink, the more I yodel
And thanks for the praise of our new car, we also love it!!!

Called the reservation desk at DCL and they gave me our cabin number. It is 6625. We were on deck 8 last time. Am wondering if it will be more "rocky" on the lower deck. Didn't have a problem with motion sickness, but we did feel the ship. I actually enjoyed it.
Mary, I will look for your package. Did you get the correct address? Not sure if I understood correctly. :D
We would like to "do" brunch with you all if thats ok. What do we need to do?
We are also staying at the Radisson the night before and the night we return. We are hoping to see the shuttle.
Have a good week all.

Peagreenid, do you know if you are coming yet?

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Wow, lots of new names to learn. Welcome ColinsMom! We may have to take over an entire deck for this group.
Kathy: How was MIB? Was thinking of bringing the kids to see it this Friday.
Cathy: SO glad you're going to join us with the Capt. Melvin trip. Don't stress about the stingrays. If they hurt people it would not be a tourist attraction would it?
Eshannon: Here's hoping the launch goes off on Sunday morning. So glad you will be there.
Viking: I am trying to picture this...lederhosen..shrinking..yodeling...too funny!:p Thank you for your response re: DH birthplace. We hope to visit it sometime in the future, after the kids are grown. Hopefully, you will be able to tell us about your home when we meet in Oct 2003.
Less then 12 weeks to go!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Ave'

Twinave: Consider your local guide booked. You will come in via Frankfurt anway, because our Rhein-Main-Airport is the central hub for Germany and Central Europe.
