Patty, I thought I had put our names on the original list in October when we booked. I noticed the new site list, and we were not on it. So, I did add them the other day. I haven't checked to see if they are now listed, though.

Hi ya`all. I`m also still luking. Some of you I have talked to lately. Some I haven`t had the pleasure of meeting.
We are doing fine. I`m still king of the kitchen and the house at least til 5:30.
We miss hearing from you like we did , especially in the days right before sailing last 9/29.
Some of you know we will be on cruise 9/28. Unfortuately, not with you. Couldn`t get any big deals for the Magic. Did get a big one on Carnival`s new one. The Pride.We are also going the western route..And we are on empress deck. that 2 or 3 from the topp, or deck6 Couldn`t get near that on Dis, for the money, that is. It`s a shame too. The people on the boards I found for them are not as friendly as they are here. I haven`t found but maybe one or twoo that are going on the same date.
Guess we`ll have to swap tales of our adventures.
Just wanted to say hi.

Poor lynette is very distraught. She isn't going to be able to join us. Her Free cruise is in September and she can't do both. sniff...sniff...sniff...

Hi everyone!

Well the Olympics are over. Now we get to have the ParaOlympics. Actually I might see if we can get tickets to some of that. I think that would be kind of fun and a bit less $$$$.

The traffic was not nearly as bad as we thought it would be and maybe a few people around here learned the value of public transportation. I never could quite convince my husband, but at least they carpooled, so that's about as good!

Well I fired my old doctor and I think I've found a good new one. He has already set me up to see a Rhuematologist (sp?). I was all set to go to the Mayo clinic. Had the appt and everything but I canceled it in the hopes that they will be able to figure something out here. I hope!!!! If we had to go the Mayo route that might have put our trip in jeopardy and I would much rather spend my time and money on vacations than doctors. Everyone plz send pixie dust.

Brandon's birthday party is this weekend and I may just survive. He is having a Harry Potter party. We are playing muggle quidditch, troll capturing and eating Bertie Bott's every flavor jelly beans. I've actually had a blast planning the thing.

John...so good to hear from you. So, it sounds like you and Lynette will be on the same cruise ship and all of us will be on the DCL. Maybe we'll pass each other in the water and wave!

And Lynette, we are leaving WDW the day you are arriving. We are splitting between AKL and the Dolphin. Couldn't afford to cruise like I wanted too, so we are going to the parks. Wanna meet for breakfast in Valdosta???? Maybe a McDonalds and we can invite kellyr.

True, but pathetic story: Our friends are building a new house. We wanted to buy their old house and they would give us an awesome deal. We had a realtor come over yesterday and tell us how much we could get for our house. We had arranged to beg, borrow and steal to get into our friends house. So everything else lines up...till yesterday afternoon. Joe goes to the accountant to get our taxes done, and not only do we owe THOUSANDS of dollars by April 15 (that we don't have), but we also have to pay $500 more a month. (DH is partner/owner/self-employed) So, yesterday we saw all our hopes for the new house dashed. And we were lying in bed last night, and DH says, "So, you want me to cancel our trip to WDW?" I was like, "NO WAY! If I am not getting the nice big house I want, I sure as he** am going to Disneyworld!"

Anyone think my priorities are out of whack?

I was so addcited to the Olympics!!!!!!!! I bought the CD, and special "re-cap" videos from NBC (can we all say SUCKER) But I loved the Games. I was glued to the tv for two weeks. Now, I am so used to staying up till midnight, that I can't get to sleep before then. Of course, that means I have been catching all the best movies on AMC.

Tiggergirl - go to the ParaOlympics. They should be just as gut-wrenching! And I hope the new Doc is great! I would hate to see you spend your cruise money on something as frivilous as your health. (another example of my askew priorities!)

And newsweek did this great article on how well SLC handled the games vs. how Altanta did it. They praised the cooperation of sponsors and the people of Utah and the church and all of these things that made it beautiful and not tacky, well-run and not chaotic. So, congrats to you as an Utahan (?)

A HARRY POTTER PARTY??? CAN I COME??? Of course, my SIL gave me Botts Beans for Christmas. Jelly belly has gone out of their way to create every flavor. SO BEWARE. Some of them really do taste like vomit. I am serious.

My beautiful DD fried our puter last week. She pushed all the buttons at once, and the blue "FATAL EXCEPTION" screen kept coming up no matter how many times we rebooted.

My friend PGreen said I was on aol...and I am sure I was. But all I could see was the EVIL BLUE SCREEN.

But I can talk on the phone and be on the computer now...so I am happy. (However, it does limit old trick of using computer to hide from unwanted phone calls. I am only saved now by Caller ID.)

okay...have I babbled enough about my priority problems?
Anyway....everyone have a nice day. (Please email me directly if you would like to contribute money to my fund. And that would not be the fund of government money. That would be my "Help Karen go to WDW despite the government obliterating the Vacation line items and disposable line items in our famiily budget".)

Hi Guys!!!!

We are soooooooooo depressed we will have to miss out on the 9/28 cruise. We will be sailing out of New York on 9/2/02 to Canada/New England!!! I think my boss would think that it would be alot to ask if we did cruise that week then also the 9/28 cruise?!?!?!? Of course, last yr she let me go to alaska in august then the 9/29 cruise ...
We are excited about sailing out of NY! We have never been to NY, so we will go up three days early and hopefully catch either Lion King and/or Beauty & the Beast! If anyone has any clues/tips about NYC please let us know! We know nothing!!!!!

Lynette...I don't know how much time you have, but you should do "Half Off Tickets". You go about 3 pm and stand in line to see what tickets haven't sold yet, and you can get half off tickets to the shows. There used to be two offices, one in the WTC which is gone, but the other is still smack dab in the middle of times square. You have to stand on a median, but it is worth it, then if you can't get any, you can just go to the window and pay full price for the good seats like you may have done anyway.

We saw Annie Get your Gun with Crystal Bernard and Tom Wopat last year (not from HOT though) and afterwards we waited outside the stage door and got pictures and autographs and Tom Wopat fell in love with me right then and there (seriously, he did)...did I ever tell you guys this story????? I have such great pictures of it!!!!!!!

Tulirose...where are you? Lynette needs your expert advice about NYC!!!!!!!

We are staying at Omni Berkshire ... it says it is about 6 blocks from broadway shows! It is at 52nd street at Madison Ave...is this ok location???

Lynette, have a great time in the BIg Apple. I grew up on Long Island and have a sister who lives in Manhattan.I am hoping for a short trip there to see family in July .I agree with Goofy Disney about half price tickets. We bought tickets to see Phamtom of the Opera. IT WAS AWSOME! I would say if you only ever get to see one Broadway play, it should be Phamtom!
The cruise sounds great. What ports of call will you see? Sept in NY/New England /Canada is so beautiful!

Goofy Disney, so sorry you can't get the house. That you were going to get a great deal makes it even harder. I hope things work out. I for one do not think your priorities are off at all. You only go around once in life! Vacations to WDW are what get you though the rough stuff.

For the record, TuliRose lives on Long Island her DH works in Manhattan.

My DH grew up in Queens, moved to Mastic, and we now live in MI. He has four sisters who live in NYC. One by the WTC, one on the upper west side, and one on the upper east side.

Tulirose and I have become good friends through these boards. (at least I think so ) I can't wait to meet her and her family.

Howdy gang! Anyone else ever try to get through to WDW Dining at 7 am to reserve Cineralla's Princess Breakfast? IT IS A NIGHTMARE. I called twice before 7, and got the "Sorry we're closed." message, and kept immediately re-dialing. So, then at 7 am I got "Our agents are busy and will be with you in a moment." And I waited 23 minutes to get someone who told me "Sorry that is booked." I was like WHAT? I've been on hold for 23 minutes...."Too bad."

So, I went back to bed, but boy was I steamin....so, DH and I will get up and do it again tomorrow. But we will be better armed. We have 3 cells between us and the regular phone. They had better watch out!

So, how are all of the babies and grandbabies coming along?

Papa, how are things going for DD2 with the back/neck/headaches?

KellyR, aren't you cruising again soon...or just going to WDW or just going to see Shellyofclearwater again soon?

Can hardly wait till 9/28!!! My confirmation is not here yet, but I am sure that considering the funk I have been in about the house thing that it will be coming.

Well the good news about all of the money I have put out for the LS business is getting me additional funds back from Uncle Sam.....Woohoo! Of course I'm not getting back as much as I've spent so far.......but, it is something anyways. I'm hoping that I will get enough to pay the deposit on the cruise.....!

Got off of work on Saturday and Stood in line for an hour for The March Madness sale at Newt and Harolds....... the local snowboard shop. Mutt needed new equipment for next year and well........we cleaned up pretty nicely. I now need to get his old stuff together and cleaned up and ready to sell for next years season. (my spoiled, spoiled son)

Everyone here is doing great. DH has slowed down a little bit on the part time job, and we actually have Monday and Tuesday off together. Woohoo Again. One of these days I'll have to break down and tell him about the next cruise. I just haven't found the opportune time yet.......

I just checked his sky miles account with delta.......and well he now has over 25000 miles so he is due for a free ticket and mutt and jeff have one also.......so a tiny room in Steerage and one airline ticket should get the 4 of us there.

Counting down the days.......by the way you 9/21/02 group. I'll make another one of my famous Deck Plans of the ship. You all missed it last year. Although I tried to send a copy to Viking. I had a deck plan of the magic and Hi-lighted everyones Cabins and wrote in their names. Goofy's husband printed them all out on the Jumbo sized paper and it was TOO cool.

gotta scoot.....it's really late. I thought I would try to tackle the tax thing again tonight. I haven't done the Business filings before this year...so it took me a little longer to figure out. Talk to you all soon

Goofy, I feel for you in trying to get ressies for Cindys. Last year I really only had one day that would work for my schedule. I told DH that I wanted to be up by 4:50 I think it was. He woke me up at 5:05 because he said I was sleeping so peacefully that he didn't have the heart to wake me up. Of course by the time I got in to the reservation center, they were full. For the entire trip last year I kept telling Warren that he owes me breakfast with the Princesses.

Guess I've got a lot of reading to get caught up on who is who, etc.

Tiggergirl - let me just tell you, God blessed me with a little girl who sleeps in. So, getting up at 6:50 am is torture. (all of you west coasters, please do not comment now. 6:50 am is early for me! )

No ressies yet though. We are going to start calling during daylight hours and hope for a cancellation. Anyone want to join us? I need to know before we book!
