this is the second night/day that I have been riding my bike around the neighborhood. I'm gonna get in a good routine and then have to stop for a while until I return - but I don't think it will be hard to get back into the routine when I get back home.

I forgot how nice it is to ride around and look at everything.

now if my knee would just stop acting up, I'll be OK with it.

Don't plan on any bike riding here. I've got snow up at my house and the roads haven't been cleared. So unless it warms up, you'll be sticking to Hot Chocolate and marshmallows!

Hi All - I am learning so much reading the Dis boards, but I do have some questions. Where does one get the things that look like luggage tags with the 2008 logo on it? Someone here has it in their signature.

When at Castaway Cay, am I correct there are 3 beach areas? Is it reasonable to walk to all of them? Are the characters on the walk to all of them? If we choose to go to the adults only beach, what will we be missing?

On member cruises, are there "character meals" or is this a misnomer on member cruises or Disney cruises in general - are the characters around everywhere all the time?

Will Donald Duck be on board?

Do we need fish extenders? Is this group doing something special?

We booked only last weekend and got the very bottom of the ship - but we're on! Are we going to be sorry being on Deck 1? I almsot feel stupid asking this question as I don't know how I can feel bad about being anywhere on a Disney cruise much less a member cruise.

there is no luggage tag that I know of. The logo is one that we have used for a couple of years and just change the year each time. You can copy and paste it under your siggie

yes, there are 3 beaches and then there is the adult beach, Senerity Bay. You can walk to SEnerity BAy it is about a 15 minute walk or you can take the tram. You'll have plenty of time to go there and relax or eat lunch.
There is a group pic but that is taken around 10'ish or so on the first beach area

the characters come out at different times and they are listed in your navigator and on a plasma TV in the Atrium at all times

yes, we have fish extenders - some do and some don't -
we give gifts to each other. everone does not have to participate. but it is very much fun

there are some very nice rooms on Deck 2 - some Cat 9th with large ocean view

I have tried to bring page 1 up to date.

If everyone would look at page 1 and make sure I have all the names and staterooms correct, I would appreciate it. Don't want to have a misprint or wrong staterooms. I know several cruisers do not want their stateroom llisted and hopefully that is correct also.

Sounds like this is your first Disney cruise? Hang on, you are in for an awesome experience! We've only done the 7 night and Med cruises. On those cruises they do have a character breakfast one morning. It used to be that each character would come to every table, and the kids could get an autograph and picture with all of them. Last summer they changed it to more of a party where the kids can get up and dance with the characters. We slept through that one on our last 2 cruises, but I've heard that folks are not as impressed.

However, you will see the characters constantly. And what I love is that they all have different costumes: cruise uniforms, bathing suits, formal wear, tropical garb, pirate etc. So its fun getting pictures in the different outfits.

When we were at Castaway Cay last month we rented bikes for the first time - it came with the Castaway Cay Getaway Package. You can easily bike to Serenity Bay also. There is something going on all over Castaway Cay, so don't even try to hit everything on one stop. Since we'll be going twice though you can do Serenity Bay one time, and then the family/ sports beach another!

You'll see the characters right when you get off the ship, and then at photo stops along the way to the first beach. There's also a character dance party by lunch spot at the family beach.

Some of the feedback I've heard regarding deck 1 is that folks love being close to the gangway when they get on and off the ship. Also, you'll probably have less noise than the folks on deck 2. And remember you'll still be above the water line, as there are several decks of crew cabins, etc below you. I don't think you'll be sorry, as you'll spend so little time in your cabin on a 4 night cruise!

Mimi - glad to see you joining us. Kay and Wendy did a good job of answering your questions. There are no character meals on this cruise. On the 7 day and longer cruisers there is a character breakfast but not like what you would see at the parks. As they said however the characters are readily available and times are posted.

good morning all - I think today is Thursday. For some reason, I can't seem to keep up with which day it is. Guess that goes with not working regularly and "just doing things". Ugh!!! I don't like that.

I am going to get up and get dressed and go into the hospitla this morning.

Have to get some papers signed for my DVC resale that is closing next week.

The weather is pretty nice here. I should get up and ride my bide for about 15 minutes, but can't seem to do that -

Good Morning all, Just wanted to drop a quick note to say hi, I have been bombarded with paperwork, and havent had much time to post...I am taking a half day tomorrow(My girlfriend from HS is coming in from Nashville for the weekend), and need all of this finished before I leave! Hope everyone has a great weekend! I know we will, we have a jam packed weekend planned, and on Saturday Tim has his holiday party for Costco, so I have to squeeze that in! Good thing my girlfriend has family here, or I would be leaving her behind, and would feel awful!

The weather here today is horrid. We have a tornado watch in effect most of the day. The front is just about to pull into Nashville. The wind is pretty vicious already. We have had too many close calls. At least 3 times the tornados have touched down within a few miles of our house. Once it took out a house less than a quarter mile away.

I pray that it is God's will that no one loses thier house or worse thier life.

The waiting is the agony. The tornado just passed through the area that Matt's school is. I got a call from the automated school system saying that all kids in the county were being held at school until the system passes. I have no way of knowing anything until he gets home and calls me. On the radar his school is in the area that is colored dark magenta red. Right in the path of the tornado. Sorry to vent but I am worried. I am sure he is fine, but you know us moms....
