Congrats to Wendy - I see she got a pirate!

There is a dinner and dessert party Grand Gathering at Epcot for Illuminations. It's $60 per person and does not include park ticket. That might be cool.
* International Dinner and IllumiNations Dessert Reception
Meet your friends and family at the Odyssey in Epcot® for a celebration of international friendship. Your well-traveled and fun-loving hostess, Auntie Roz, welcomes you to amazing tastes from around the world. Help yourself to delectable international cuisine served family-style, where everyone from Grandma to Junior is sure to find a favorite dish.

As you feast, Auntie Roz and some of your favorite Disney Characters sing, dance and tell stories — sometimes they even need your help! And Auntie Roz loves birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions, so if you've got something to celebrate just give her the word and she'll give you plenty of recognition, including a special song.

After your international eating adventure, end your evening on a sweet note with a scrumptious dessert buffet and a private, reserved viewing of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. Theme park admission is required.

Price:
Adults and Juniors - $59.99, Children (ages 3-9) - $29.99 (available 180 days prior)

Schedule:
Please call (407) WDW-MAGIC† for dates and times.

Annette :)

Annette- that sounds like fun. Where is the Odyssey? Is there a menu of what they serve? We are game for anything. We ate at Boma last year. Wasn't thrilled, but I am a boring/picky eater. Give me a good hamburger or chicken fingers and I am happy. Roger like all the different choices.

Stay warm and safe up there,

have a great Tuesday.

The Odyssey is the restaurant on the left as you enter World Showcase, where they have the First Aid center, next to Mexico. At one time it was a nice sit-down, now it's only open for special event programming like that.

That looks very interesting :)

Joanne - you sound like Mark and I. I'm the picky eater (burgers and chicken) while Mark will try just about anything. We did Boma once and didn't care for it much.

Odyssey is the large building between future world and the countries. Over on the same side as Test Track and Mission Space. I know they use it a lot for seminars during Food and Wine festival but I think at other times it sits empty.

edited to add - looks like Mark and I answered at the same time. We're both at our respective works instead of sitting next to each other at home. :)

Maybe this picture will help. Here is Odyssey:

PDFG and all our friends who need it.

Well thanks to both of you. I have seen that building and used it's rest rooms many times.

You guys are starting to get me excited. maybe we will have to do the parks after as well. We are thinking about doing the everest challenge, but it's a little pricey!!! I wish i wasn't so darn cheap. One son is graduating in April so one down and one to go, It's nice to see an end to one, but now he has grad school, but he is going to live at home, so maybe it will save us some $$.

It's a yucky rainy day here, so Epcot would't be a bad place to be.

Now one thing to consider. If we book it can we get a refund in the case that DVC decides to do something that night. I doubt they will as I would hope we would have heard about it already but just trying to be cautious.

We did a grand gathering wishes fireworks cruise after the 2006 Member Cruise and it was a blast. We even got a special pin for it. Wonder if they do the same for this dinner. I think the one really nice thing about it is that they now how to handle big groups and even though our group won't be alone we also won't be packed. The downside of course is the price especially if one is a picky eater who might not get their money's worth but for this kind of thing I personally think the perk of having a great viewing area for Illuminations might make it worth it.

I know Cheryl and Todd were there as were Mary and Karen, but did anyone else go to DVC Member Homecoming in 2004? Sounds like they use the same viewing area as we had then which was amazing!

Tim and I are interested in doing dinner also! If there are kids going then we will bring our 3 DD's, if not then it will be just the 2 of us!

Mary...Thanks for your concern about my back, the pain has subsided mainly, its still there a little, so if its not fully gone by tomorrow, I am going to the dr. I really dislike going to dr.'s, but I dont want to end up with something seriously wrong. The pain is near my liver, and I don't want to mess with that! So I will have it checked out if its still there tomorrow!

We're driving down from Erie and I don't know when we will be arriving in the area. We'll probably stay somewhere near Port Canaveral Saturday night and meet with everyone on the ship. The dinner sounds like a great time, though!!!

We're having snow also. I might have to use the snow blower tonight. We've had a mild winter snow-wise for a change.

Robin: Just a note that I am dairy/lactose intolerant for when you make a reservation

Also if we do a grand gathering dinner will someone check if we have to be onsite? ( I think there is room for 6 offsite)
