09/21/08 SSMC08 S.S. Member Cruise 2008 - Part 3!

Well folks its 6 am here at the AKL and the sun is about to rise on the savanna. What a sight yesterday. Besides from our "bed issue" AKL is breath taking. We will be back to stay here.

In less then six hours off we go....

We can't wait to see everyone and finally put a name with a face.

Good morning Member Cruisers
We sail today!

So has anybody looked at the models for the Contemporary. I know there are those who like them but I was underwhelmed. I love the VWL and Animal Kingdom and I like the Contemporary studio setup but I'm just not into the white plastic look.

And this is what says it all. :) Everyone's going to have their own taste. For Mary and I, dark wood look is not what we're into. Part of why we own at BWV. :) The Contemporary is interesting, and if we were looking for more points at the parks, we would be interested. But that is where we're not, we have enough points for us to stay at WDW. Our interest is now in that location listed off to the left: Ko'Olina. It'll probably be the next one when AKL sells.

We are up and about in Cocoa Beach getting everything ready to head for the port. We are starting to get excited.

We went to the Contemporary (Yeah we drove all the way over there) to eat at CG and watch the special fireworks last evening put on by the Pyrotechnicians Association. It was pretty cool once they got it started. :goodvibes

Well see everyone on the ship! (or in the terminal) :)

Wow I must be the only one still online. No one else is posting. :confused3
There are still a few here. I'm just waiting for transportation at this stage and hoping that I didn't forget anything.

There are a few things about the Contemporary I like. The main one is the MK view of the castle and the ability to watch the fireworks from the room. Second would be the ability to view the area from the top floor. The room decor is not to my liking but it has some appealing aspects because of its location. As I mentioned earlier, I like the layout for the studio.

Dw and I are sitting here in the room at Cocoa Beach. We are still weighing what time to go over there. Sounds like the best time is between 1 and 3. Should we go earlier? :confused3 What time do they actually start allowing people in the terminal, I guess that is a question I should have asked before today. :lmao:

I believe they start boarding at 1. Transportation from SSR is not scheduled to leave until 12:45 so I don't expect to get there until after 2. I always prefer to be early rather than late but if you go early, I expect there will be a nice long line. I've never been on a cruise before so I don't know how hectic the checkin process is.

We are probably going to head over about 11:00. At least then we will beat the DCL Bus loads from the reosrts. :goodvibes

I went to mail some bills and I was surprised there are people already waiting for the transportation. I hadn't really planned on checking in until around 12 but maybe I'll do it earlier and just head down to downtown Disney for a few minutes.

We are now at the Boardwalk! A great big thank you to everyone we met who made this cruise so special for us.

Lots of laughs and it was so wonderful to share so much of it with friends both old and new.

We're looking at doing 2009 and hope some of you are as well. If you are not feel free to hang out here and chat so we can keep in touch.

So what did you think about the cruise?

what did you like?

anything you didn't like?

what is your favorite memory?

I would like to say hello to those I met on the cruise. May you find happiness and success.

Home safe and sound. Back to work tonight! :scared1: Hearing confessions for high school kids making Confirmation in a few weeks. I will respond to Mary's questions later. So wonderful to meet you all!

Likewise, Mack and I enjoyed meeting everyone! It was a blast! I have to upload pictures. Did someone say they had already started uploading from this cruise? If so, where? I am hoping some of you have some I missed. Thanks for all the FE gifts too - we loved participating in that! It was just a great time!!!!

We are at the Caribbean Beach resort for the next 3 nights then heading home. I thought this year was wonderful. I am surprised at how cranky people were though. Last year I must have had rose colored glasses but I swear I ran into every jerk this cruise. And people were far more cranky at the group photo this year than last and last year was hotter.

I still had a fab time!

We're at SSR. We just got back from the Adventurer's Club. It was packed! We saw Cheryl and Todd there. We had a great time on the cruise! We hope everyone gets home safely and really enjoyed meeting everyone!
