09/21/08 SSMC08 S.S. Member Cruise 2008 - Part 3!

Hello Everyone!
We are glad to hear that everyone had a great trip and wish we could have joined you this year.We also don't like the dates for the 2009 cruise and will not be going but will be interested in doing a 7 day cruise and it would be nice to all go together again.

Terry and Billy tiggerguy :thumbsup2

DW and I are driving home now. We stayed three nights extra at WLV. Spent some time at the parks, the Intl. Wine and Food Festival and played 18 holes of golf at LBV golf course. It definitely a wonderful addition to the member cruise. We are in for the cruise next year and we are already planning all of the things we want to do.

We really had no issues to complain about with regard to anything on the cruise. Wish we could have eaten dinner in Palo, but the reservations were all gone by the time we found out where we needed to go to make those reservations.

My favorite thing (besides sitting at Serenity Beach with my wife) would have to be the Jet Ski Eco Tour. That was a blast.

It was fun meeting everyone on the cruise. Hope that we can all meet again on next years cruise. :cool1:

Bill & Terry, I see you're still lurking on the member cruise thread like I have been. We were not able to make it this year either, but were hoping to make it next year no matter the date. I don't know if you remember us, we sat next to each other on the bus from AKL to the cruise, and my wife & I enjoyed our time with you both, and that was just another good part of our 2007 member cruise.

So what did you think about the cruise?
I really had a good time. It was worth the wait (and the points). I am so glad that I did it.

what did you like? The DVC theming everywhere -- I went on sort of a scavenger hunt to find places that had the DVC overlay. They even changed the big dials in WaveBands to DVC. The special programs, even though I only made a few. But most of all, it was spending time with many of you that made it special.

anything you didn't like? Tony Baxter's morning program starting so late; I wound up leaving so that I could go to the beach and was unable to get to the afternoon one. The unavoidable split that occurs with the DIS because of the early/late seating issue. I missed seeing a number of the people who ate earlier.

what is your favorite memory(s)? along with Kathy, sitting in the water at the end of the family beach with a bunch of you -- the Mass the night before we left -- the wild dinner conversation at dinner (I finally told our server, Plamen, to just interrupt us because there was NEVER going to be a lull in the conversation for him to politely jump in) -- brunch at Palo, I am sure that Sean our server will not soon forget us

As I already mentioned to Mary and Mark, it would have been nice if we had some kind of meet near the end.

Our future plans do not include the member cruise next year; we are going to Hawaii at that time to celebrate my parents' 55th wedding anniversary, but I certainly could imagine it in the future. Has anyone ever tried to arrange sort of a land-based (at WDW of course) "reunion"?

I hope we can all stay in touch.

We are home! Had a very easy ride both days and now can just relax and start on laundry.

Frank that is a great idea about a meet at the end of the cruise. Will definitely have to keep that in mind for the future. I was lucky enough to see a bunch of DISers at Wavebands on Wednesday night. We also saw Ellen and Tom not only as we were leaving Thursday morning but also at Epcot on Friday.

Carol and I got home about 90 minutes ago. We did F&W and MNSSHP. I'm so glad we did the halloween party. It was excellent!! Much better than MVMCP and well worth the extra admission price. We won't miss it if we ever get the chance again!!

It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones! Carol and I spent a lot of time lounging in the Cadillac Lounge. Unfortunately, Jaquie is no longer there and she left the Wonder in April. However, they have a relatively new server in there named Tiffany, from Paris, who was very efficient and fun to chat with. She was a Disneyland Paris CM previously, so had a lot of knowledge about DLP.

hi there Everybody. Chris and I just got back a few hours ago. We stayed at Caribbean Beach for three days after the cruise. We had a fabulous time and I was really sad to come back home. We did the parks and also went over to Discovery Coe to swim with the dolphins. That was so much fun.

As for the cruise I think that this one was much better than the one that I did 2 years ago. I was soooooo happy that they didn't make every presentation into an oppurtunity to try to sell me more points. That was how it was on my last DVC cruise experience and I can't even begin to tell you how happy I was ot to have that be the case again.

We really njoyed meeting with everyone and we even made new friends ion this trip. I must say that we loved the FE gifts as well. That was sooooo fun to have gifts in the bag everytime we came back to the room....

As for next year, we are planning on booking it and then hoping that all the stars will align and that we can go. we are doing a 7 day in May so it all depends on how things work out with our possible move and vacation time... So I am going to add the dailing on the 2nd thingy to my staff as well....

In no particular order, as we are still enjoying the lovely sunset over the DTD lagoon (had a GREAT view of the Pleasure Island closing fireworks at midnight last night).....

I may have to start separate thread so all pictures can be collected in one location - but, for now....)

Hi all ...

We did the B2B had a great time! The Member cuise is quite differant than the regular cruise. I was much more relaxing on the plus side. But I really missed all you guys.

Talk to you more tomorrow !

Good morning everyone! Well vacation is truly over as I go back to work today. Wonder how many e-mail messages I'll have waiting for me? :lmao:

Still haven't had a chance to look through our pictures in the cameras yet but the memories are still so clear in our minds and wonderful memories they are. :)

We got home about 10:30 last night. We had no problem getting gas and had a fairly uneventful drive home. We enjoyed our stay at SSR and got to make one last visit to the Adventurer's Club Thursday night. It was packed!!!

It was great to meet everyone! My "hidden Mickey" is growing in rapidly now. It was a lot of fun, as usual.

We hope everyone got home safe. We'll post more soon.

Just got in this morning around 6:30am. We visited the parks Thur-Sat. and did last min shopping yesterday before we left. Had a blast on the boat. Think I missed seeing everyone a lot due to hanging with the kids. :rotfl: Still had a blast though so I can't complain. Oh and Gina and I did indulge in a conk cooler. YUUUMMMYYYY! :rotfl:

Just went through 400 plus work emails...:surfweb: Now time to unpack.

Welcome back folks!

Now I know some of you are looking at going for longer than 4 days now that the cruising bug has caught on, and I'm glad to hear it! :)

However, if you're intending to go around again, there is a new thread started for that too over here. :) 09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009

We made it home without any problems. The cruise was wonderful and we enjoyed every minute of it. I enjoyed meeting everyone! Thank you for all of the wonderful fish extender gifts. It was fun to take part in the exchange. Mary, I loved the live feed. My daughter had read it everyday and knew which of the gifts she wanted before we got home. popcorn::

The dog did not lose weight so the kids did take care of him along with several other people that came to make sure he was ok. :lmao: The house was a mess so that meant the kids did not have a party while we were gone. :rotfl2:

We are also booked on the Oct 24, 2009 cruise. We are already counting down the days. I have to get to work. My desk is piled with work. The paperwork fairy must have went on strick last week.:rolleyes1

Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

We got home about 9 last night. We are exhausted and both of us have awful colds.

This cruise had the best bunch of people we have ever met. I hope we do all stay in touch.

I too have way too much work, but I am still employed. So that is a good thing.

I will post all my likes and dislikes later when. I have time to breath.

So those of you who thought 4 days was too short--- all I can say is 10/24/09!!!!!!!

Back at work. Got home around 10:30 last night. The 3 day was great. Our CC day was awesome - not too hot.

We stopped by the Bay Lake Tower models yesterday - I LOVE THE NEW KITCHEN LAYOUT. It feels nice and roomy.

Well the auditors come next week so I have to get back to the grindstone see you later.

Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

   I want to go with you all!! I can't though. With our trip to Hawaii in September (which will be two weeks), I just can't manage it. (Not that I am complaining about Hawaii). I just hope we will have another chance to cruise together. Maybe we could even manage a non-cruise, land-based trip to WDW since we are all DVC members. :)
