Lunch on boarding day is held in two places. Parrot Cay on deck 3 or Beach Blanket Buffet on deck 9. They serve exactly the same thing so the choice is yours if you want to eat outside or inside.

Usually they will try to direct you to one (Parrot Cay) first and then when they are filled direct you up to Beach Blanket. We like to eat outside so we'll head up to Beach Blanket using the mid-ship stairs/elevator instead. Remember that you'll still have your carry-on luggage with you.

So if you want to eat outside head up to Beach Blanket. If you prefer to start in a fun festive air conditioned room then head on over to Parrot Cay. You can't go wrong with either.

Not real hungry or have kids that want to head right to the pools - then head up to deck 9. Grab a table and chairs by the pool. You can grab burgers, hot dogs and chicken fingers at Plutos. Also one person in your party can go through the buffet at Beach Blanket and bring back food to the table.

You guys were busy last night! Lots of posts and congrats to mimi on the pirate!

Some thoughts on some of the topics covered:
Clothes- we dont brng jeans with us either. We find them heavy for the cruise and rarely bring them to wdw unless we are there in Dec-Mar. You might not see a lot of them, but they are permitted, except in Palo.
VMA- didn't watch, but not a Britney fan anyway.
Ellen- welcome to the group. Glad you got the dining you wanted
Mary-thanks for such great tips. I love eating outside too, but I think this trip we might shake things up and head up to the pool and Plutos! Who knows...
Buttons- thanks Mark and Mary for doing all this hard work!

Are you a mac user? The I-Phone is not all that it is cracked up to be, but it is better then a crackberry. We have have ours for over a year and replaced them twice because of issues.

Well, I tried the DVC chat for the first time last night. Talk about getting seasick - it moves really fast! But it was really fun and it was nice to see so many folks from this board jumping in.

Well about this time next week Nancy and I will be in the air and be between Boston and Orlando due to land at 10:00am.
I think we have most of our stuff out now it just has to be packed. Today Nancy is subbing half a day this afternoon.

I LOVE my iPhone! I've had it over a year and no problems at all. I must admit that iPhone likes my Mac better than my PC, plus there are iPhone options that are only available with Mac.

Best Buy now carries the IPhone. We are the only big box retailer to do so. It was a big launch for our company. So if your looking for one....

Speaking of chat - Gary asked in chat last night if there could be a special Member Cruise chat before we all leave. Just for us. I don't think we'd be able to do a night time spot but could possibly do one on Saturday morning or afternoon. What do you all think? Would anyone be available for a special Member Cruise chat next Saturday? I'd have to know in the next couple of days so I could contact admin and see if they could open the room for us. I'd be willing to host.

Chat sounds great! I have never done a chat. After all these years on the DIS it would be my first chat.

We usually fill out our docs by hand. Will it really save time to do it online first???

Also, has anyone ever used Disney Gift Cards to pay their shipboard account?? I know you can, but I wasn't sure how it worked out. We have some to use for this trip!

I think it does save time at check-in. I guess because when you do it online if you miss something it stops and asks you about it. So when you get to the port they don't have to go over it as much. Plus an added bonus - next time you cruise most of the info (like passport number etc.) is already in there. Big time saver! Edited to add - also online is a nice printed form and not my messy handwriting.

As for the gift cards I would just stop by guest services and see how they want it handled. We've never used them.

Boy, I am way behind the times here...I did not find this post until tonight!! What have I been sleeping or what...

I am going to be on the cruise with DH and DD. This will be our 5th Member Cruise and looking forward to it as if it were our first.

We are coming to WDW on the 15th and bringing my brother and SIL to spend 6 nights with them at SSR. Then on the 21st they are flying home and back to work while we jump on the Member Cruise. After the trip we will be getting off the trip and heading back to SSR for two (2) additional nights with just the three of us.

I hope to meet some of you on the ship and the party will begin soon.....
