Well it's back to work today and to top it off I think I've caught what's been going around. Stuffy nose, headache and just want to sleep. As long as it's gone by next Fri. I'm good though. :goodvibes

I know there is a Pirate Night on this cruise.

Can anyone tell me if there is a formal night? I heard this cruise was casual, but now I'm reading stuff about a "Ball"?

I'm a little confused, but that's no surprise! HELP :confused3

There was a Legends Ball on the '07 cruise which DVC deemed as a formal event. IMHO it was pretty much a flop. No such event has been announced for this year and we're planning on being cruise casual for the entire cruise.

Whew, thanks for clearing that up! :thumbsup2

My DH would blow a gasket if he had to dress up after I just told him last week it was casual dress.

I'm glad that there isn't a formal night. It was too much last year to try to find a dress. Then it was a waste of time as the ball was a bust. It did look good though. Cruise casual is the way to go. I'll bring something dressier for dinner at Palo's though.

We are sooooooooooo close to vacation. I can't wait.

Annette :)

My dh is the same. He will dress up if he HAS to! We are going to Palo for dinner so that is one night he will dress up. That is it! ;)

We also thought the Ball was a Bust, and are not planning on anything other than casual for this cruise.

This is a late introduction on two more people who will be on the member cruise. I am Diane (42 years young) and my mom, Barbara, (65 years and going strong). My mom was on the Legend DVC cruise last year and loved it. Last year my father won the second biggest prize on the ship which was DVC points (I don't know how much). He won enough points for me to go on this years cruise. (Yea Dad) We leave for Disney on Saturday (9/13) and will be first staying first at POR and then move to OKW. My mom has been on 6 other Disney cruises and I only one (something is wrong with this picture). We are DVC members at OKW, Vero Beach and Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Like everyone hear we are Disney fans and LOVE being DVC members. We first became members when my mom developed breast cancer in 1996. While my parents were at Disney (visiting my sister in Florida) they luckily were resting by a DVC booth at POR. Long story short as a jesture from my dad on my mom being cleared from breast cancer (after mastectomy surgery) my dad bought DVC points at OKW. Without my moms cancer he would have never, ever bought into the points. So it may sound unsensitive or something but my mom is glad she got the cancer because now she has years of Disney. So something very good came from something very bad.

We are worried that we have not received any papers in the mail so far and wonder if anyone received anything as of yet. I have to give them a call today to check. I am getting a bit excited about the cruise but scared that I am leaving my dad who gets bored very easy at home for two weeks with two cats (the main reason why all of us cannot go).

My mom and I hope to go to any meet and greet before the trip. Looking forward to seeing all of you on board.

Welcome Home, Diane! Your/My docs should be arriving any day now!

Welcome Diane. Looking forward to meeting you and your Mom.

Has anyone done the check in for the cruise at the resort? I was reading that is an option even if you have the land and sea seperate. Wondering how it went.

Annette :)

I've done the check in for the cruise at the resort, but only for a Land/Sea package, since they hooked your KTTW card to your cruise cabin. I thought I read that you can't check in if you are doing them separately. Hope I'm wrong. That would be great!:yay:

Welcome Diane!!!:yay:
What a blessing to be able to have your mom cancer free! My grandmother fought breast cancer for a long time, beat it once before it reared it's ugly head again. She lost her battle August 1, 2006. It does make us realize that each moment counts so you are NOT being unsensitive. If cancer changed her life for the better, than I dont blame her for being happy it came into her life and she got DVC!

We got our docs last Friday so you should get yours soon!!!:goodvibes

We are debating what to do...don't want to bring extra stuff, yet trying to be festive (pirate night and MNSSHP). Any suggestions? I know a tiara is the perfect accessory to every outfitprincess:

Sorry - I don't have good suggestions. I am bringing pants and a shirt - no hat or shoes as they do take up too much room - will make a bandana as well. I have not actually been to one of these before so I don't know what tricks others may use to dress up without extra props.

I'm not trying to ruin the surprise but they give you a bandana and eye patch at dinner. That might make it a little easier for you. ARRG!

Anyone speculating on who the "animation legend and one of today's leading filmmakers" are?
