I was not able to book Palo OR a Family Beach Cabana. There was NOTHING available! I called DVC Member Services this morning to ask for help and the lady wouldn't even try to check for me. So I called DCL and got a really nice guy and he said to just keep checking back on the website. So, I guess I'll be visiting DCL's website several times a day for the next 100 days! :upsidedow

I'm still sending the email to DCL to try to get the private dining room for brunch, but they don't confirm that until 30 days out from the sail date.

My suggestion is this: if you want to experience Palo Brunch, just keep trying to go online each day and see if a table opens up for your party size. They had dinner available but only for tables of 1-2 people.

 So did you let him sleep on the couch or was he sharing the dog's house?

Nah, he slept in his usual spot. He just got the riot act for about a week. All is better now. He is taking me to the Dells in a couple of weeks and is agreeing to anything I want for the next month......:rotfl: First part of that sentence is TRUE.

Ahhh, that stinks. Sorry.
I will probably never get a chance to eat at Palo, since Jim and I have only been on two DCL cruises. Member Cruise will be our third. Oh well.

Don't give up! They don't open up all the spots for online bookings, they keep some spots open for people who book when they board the ship. I'm not giving up either...I'm gonna continue to check the website to see if anything opens up.

Thanks for keeping the emails going for our brunch. I would love to do that.:lovestruc

Hooray, the cruise is becoming more real! Just did online check-in and booked Palo for our at sea day and the fishing excursion morning session for the 2nd CC day. All the Cabanas are already reserved but I can't afford one anyway, lol. Unable to get Palo Brunch but will keep trying and hope something opens up.

We are booked on the member cruise and were thinking of adding a third person to our room, but they say the ship is at capacity. Friday there was room, today there isn't. They did offer that I can call back to check on cancellations.
Has anybody ever had success with adding someone at this late date?

That was how we got Remy on the cruise we were just on with Wally and Terrie. We booked it online about three weeks out.

Exactly what dates are you going in December?? We just booked in December. December 27-January 5th!!!! I am wondering exactly when I can make my dining reservations. I can't be bothered to actually go and get a calendar and count the days.

We'll be there Dec. 3-11.

Bummer. Doesn't leave much hope for us that can't even try to book yet. Oh well, sure hope you can get the group brunch. Have you tried to do the linked dining yet?

I emailed the forms for the linked dining. Haven't gotten an email back confirming it though.

Don't give up hope...even if I can't get the room for the big party, if you still want to try for Palo Brunch, you might still be able to get it the day we board the ship. If not, that just gives you an excuse to book another cruise while you're on board, right?!

You never know...people have to cancel cruises all the time. Unfortunately it all depends on if someone in your lifeboat block cancels. There could be 20 people that cancel their cruise in a different lifeboat block of the ship and your block would still be at full capacity. Here's some pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: in hopes that you can add the other person to your room.

I called DVC a couple of weeks ago (right after the 120 day mark) and asked about the waitlist. Nothing is available! The CM told me that they'll be calling people "in June or July" to offer cabins to people on the waitlist. So, we still don't know if we'll be joining you or not. :confused3

We're looking at a "fun ship" cruise as a backup; we need something to ameliorate the withdrawal symptoms! :scared:

Chicago Dismeet Itinerary [/FONT]

Saturday the 18th:

11:00 A.M. - Lunch @ Signature Room
2:00 P.M. - Wendella Boat Tour

I think 2 for the boat tour gives us plenty of time to get there after lunch. Does anyone disagree?

After the tour, THEN WHAT? Go back to our rooms, go to the Disney Store( if so, which one or both?) or maybe make the boat tour for 3:00 and hit one Disney store before the tour (We'll walk right pass it) and the other one after?!

What time for dinner? Are we still going to Greek Town? If so, what time? Do we need to get a ressie somewhere?

Sunday the 19th:

??????? :confused3

Millennium Park
Geno's East Pizza (Ressie?)
Sears Tower

??????? :confused3
Sorry we haven't been around very much, lately. We have been working and out of town. Not that we aren't working when we are out of town! 3:00 for the Boat tour sounds like a better time since we will be able to stop at the Disney store on the way to the boat, instead of backtracking. How many people will plan on going to Greek Town for dinner? We would be happy to make the ressies if you would like. We vote for the original Greek Islands but are open to alternatives if anybody else has some strong feelings about someplace else. Gino's East on Superior would be good.

I made a map of the Dismeet. It shows the locations for The Signature Room, Wendella Boat Tour, Midway Airport and the Embassy Suites Hotel for our out of town guests.

Map - Just zoom out and you will see all the place marks.

There are some guidelines for using the Groupon for the Boat Tour.

Chicago Food Planet Food Tour, Sunday, June 19th @ 11:00 A.M. (Tentative)

Near North Food Tour

I need input on if we all want to do this and a head count if we are.

With a family of four, it has been quite the adventure. I was trying to save $$ by taking our own passport pics. I had done the research at the US passport website to make sure the pics were done by their specifications. I took pics of each of us at home, with a white background and color pics per US specs, went to CVS pharmacy to print them out, then the manager took a look at our pics and said they weren't to spec.

Passport info:
http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html

Interesting. I had Lara take my mug shot against our off-white wall with a little extra white space around my face. Then Photo-shopped it to get the dimensions they required (not by stretching, rather cutting out to the specs). Printed a test page on our color laser printer, and reduced the red a little. Loaded photo paper ... and ... it promptly melted during the fusing process. Photo paper is evidently only for inkjet printers, which we don't have any more.

Hmm ... it really only melted toward the bottom of the side-by-side photos. So now pay at the store for a photo, go to a quick print shop ... nah, I just cut out the photos and mailed them off. It was accepted and I got the passport in time for our trip!

 Everyone!

Hope that you all had a great weekend! We were busy with planting and other stuff. A very good friend of ours passed along some very good news, his nephew Matt Carpenter got THE call on Friday. He went from AAA Memphis to the St Louis Cardinals! Started at 3rd base on Saturday at Busch Stadium against the Cubs and got his first big league hit, a double in the 7th!   Whilst we are not Cardinal fans, we are becoming fans of Matt's! :dance3:

Got our planting done, lawn mowed, uffff ... beat!
