Cool beans! I will repeat what everyone told me about the series which is to stick with it until the third book. Book one didn't blow me away but it does lay the ground work. Mid way through book two, I was hooked and by book three ... I needed an intervention :lmao:

LOL Ok, will do!

Hey all our Indy area friends... PLEASE BE CAREFUL THIS WEEK!!! I just saw the news where you are supposed to get .25 - 1.00 inch of ice!!!! :scared:

Happy Monday all! We are going to get our work and shopping done for the blizzard the weather folks have planned for us. :rotfl2:

We believe that it is a conspiracy to get more folks to buy groceries, because folks are not eating at home as much as they did a couple of years ago! :lmao:

Andy, we have candle lanterns that we use when camping along with a coleman lantern and stove. Oh, yeah, we have a fireplace as well. We have LOTS of flame options here! :rotfl:

Happy Disney Dream Christening Day!

Hope all is going well for everyone. It's been a very long time since I've been out here reading and posting on this thread.

It was a very busy holiday season with vacation over Thanksgiving and DD's birthday the week before Christmas. Then, with my car breaking down two weeks before vacation it's been just a little crazy. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a happy and safe New Year.

I am going to try to get caught up with all the 'events and activities' on the first page and make sure I get signed up for anything I may have missed.

Hope everyone is enjoying the webcast for the christening. Very exciting! I can't wait until we are all onboard in September.

Take care!

Hello Everyone!!

Just checking back in since my last post above. I finally had a chance to read through the first page as well as everyone's posts since my note above.

I have a couple of questions.

Several months back the folks in the NJ/DE/PA/NY region were talking about possibly getting together after the holiday. Has anything been planned or have you already gotten together?

The 'wine group' - can someone explain a little more about this group/event? Does this group meet every night? What does each person contribute - 1 bottle or several bottles of the same wine or a variety of wines???

The Palo Brunch Reservation - I recall lots of discussion on Palo back when we first booked the cruise. Is this event being booked in advanced so that we will not have to book anything online based on our CC member booking window?
When is the brunch?

Not sure if I missed it but is there a list of PRE and POST cruise plans? I know several people are doing B2B cruises but for all the other folks, where is everyone staying?

The WDW resorts where we have not stayed yet are AKV and BWV. We really want to stay at AKV. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments regarding the new versus old DVC sections at AKV?

Well, I have to get back to work.

Hope everyone stays safe and warm with the next round of snow and ice that is forecasted.

Take care!

Thanks Debbie,
We're in England for a while, but still even a quarter inch of ice can be devistating. Not just for people trying to get around, but for power. It can do widespread damage to power poles, which can take crews months to repair. I'll contact the people watching the house and remind them that if the electric goes out (which would disable our gas furnace), they can still turn on the gas fireplace to add a little heat to the house.
Thanks for the heads-up,
John

Take care Milford and Shawn. Like Andy said, we don't want anyone to get injured.

Hi Lisa, I'll try to answer what I can, until the respective experts can chime in.
Food & Wine Club is being arranged by Mickey (Mantle1509). As best I understand, each person (couple?) would bring one bottle of wine each night to share with our group meeting at the Adult Pool area (with the exception of Pirate Night). Mickey will bring small plastic wine/shot glasses for everyone. Each night will be a different color of wine (white, red, and blush). He reminds us that you should bring a favorite wine of yours, not necessarily the most expensive one.

Palo Brunch: Debbie (Luckymomoftwo) is keeping the list of those who are interested and the HappyCampers are going to try to book reservations for us because they have Concierge level booking priority. As I recall there are a couple potential problems. First there may be too many of us to be accomodated (so maybe some will have to be dropped off the list?), and second, we can book 3 months out, but won't get any confirmation until 1 month out.

Andy (Carmouse10) is keeping track of pre and post cruise stays. He's on here quite a bit, so I'm sure he'll repost the list for you. I recall the most popular post-cruise stay is at Bay Lake Towers. Boardwalk is very good if you plan to visit EPCOT, and I really enjoy it, Lara prefers Animal Kingdom.

I'll re-post the latest "What's Goin' On" list for you. The one on the first page is a little out of date, and there are a couple more things invented since it was last revised.

Hello John, I hope that the Brits are showing you the proper respect. I wouldn't want to have to come over there and teach them manners "New Yawk Style"! (Actually, if I could get someone else to foot the bill, I would LOVE to go over there... :rotfl2:) I definitely will re-post the list. I had intended to do it over the weekend but got sidetracked with life. I know, shame on me. I will do my best to get my priorities straight. :goodvibes

As far as the on-board, embarkation day meet, do you know if we could use the Outlook Lounge? I had read about it and thought that might be a nice place for us if it is available. That event is your baby so I just wanted to float the idea.

When it gets close to cruisin time for us, I will probably attempt to arrange a very informal "hang-out" session the night before we leave. More to come around mid-summer on that one.

I am at work now but I will attempt to get the "stay list" posted once I get home. Enjoy your day everybody and to all the Chicagoianites, be careful. I will be thinking of you.

Personally I LOVE sangria. I'll have to consider this and just bring my 'spiked' fruit with me to the gathering. Maybe I'll have to come up with 2 different fruit combos. 1 for the red and 1 for the white wine. Yummy!!!! I'm hoping they have a variety of fresh fruit offerings on the cruise. On the Wonder, they had the fresh fruit down by the pool - right next to the ice cream machine. :confused3

Hey midwest friends I echo other people here please be careful in the snow.
I went and did my shopping today and it was crowded worse than Christmas. Good thing people are taking this serious.
Side note our daughter was married during the storm of 99. Made for an intersting day.
Anyone else here remember 1967? That was fun, I was just a kid.
