If you book it and have room for two more, count us in!
Mike and Debbie

If you're talking about Dinner at Palo, I don't think anyone is working on a group of us.

But several of us have been put on a list to sign up for Palo Brunch, which as I have heard here, is favored over the Palo Dinner. We have never tried the Brunch, so we are on that list. There are a couple of possible problems, primarily there may be too many of us for what is available. See my post 1047 on the previous page where I have linked to some of the early discussion.

This is what I have gathered so far. Not sure where these rooms are, without comparing to the deck plans (maybe I'll work on that too?).

Wow! I'd love to do the tour. You already have our category and one backup, so I guess I don't need to volunteer our room. Plus, after living in it with two teen boys for several days prior, it may not be fit for company.

As always, please let me know what needs to be changed. Thanks, John.

Hi John! You can put us down for offering our room as a back up. :thumbsup2

I sent you a PM. I read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series just to see what the fuss was about and loved it. Wally read them too!

Got the PM. I'll send the book out ASAP! Still have lots to give away. :goodvibes Jason has taken to reading several of the series that I've read or am reading. He's loves Anita Blake and to a lesser extent, Merry Gentry. He said he prefers vampire and werewolf politics to faery politics.

Have you read The Host? The first time I read it I wasn't too taken with it, but the second time I read it I really liked it. I think my expectations were too high. I was hoping for more Twilight type magic and it wasn't there. I understand they are making a movie of it. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out onscreen.

I wish the Disney ships had an actual library. I may only read a book or two on a three or four night cruise, but anything longer and I'll have to pack my own library! :lmao:

Well, looks like the snow is starting to stick really well now. Hope it doesn't get too bad before Jason gets home from work. :headache:

I'll put you on the list of those interested in doing the tour!

Karen, how is everything???

I noticed that you will be travelling with DS "Grumpy" and DS "Happy" for our cruise... Does that mean I get to have fun with duct tape on board? I would let Kyle help out if that makes any difference. In fact, I'll bet with a bit of creative spin I could award both of them Merit Badges for the activity! :lmao:

Yeah, I will take Vampire politics over Faery politics any day :scared1: Wally listened to some of Anita Blake in the car with me and got a bit caught up in the stories too.

Yes, I did and I really enjoyed it! I didn't keep my expectations high so I guess that's why I really liked it the first time around. I didn't know they were going to do a move with it ... cool :thumbsup2

Oh, how awesome would that be! I'd love to have a library on the ship!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: DS Grumpy would be Paul. DS Happy would be Kyle (although today he is Sneezy and everyday he is much like Stitch - good natured with a tendency to be mischievous and cause chaos). DH is Jason (he'd be The Beast). There is the brand new Inventing Merit Badge. I bet you could check off a few requirements for that one. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Things are good here. Since Sneezy is staying home from scouts and Grumpy likes to walk over early and hang with his buds, I decided I wasn't needed and I'm playing hookey from scouts.

For the first time ever, Grumpy (at 16 yo) has asked for a pet. He's been offered and taken care of pets. He had two guinea pigs and took good care of them for their entire life span. He wants a cat. :cat: The DH and I are dog people. And DH's first reaction was heck no (at least that's the version I can post! ;)). Grumpy responded with, "What if it's a cute cat". Dad responded with, "Then it's a cute target".

But, he's seriously considering letting him have one. He wants to make him really think about it though. Because the cat would be 100% his responsibility ... until he moves out and can't take the cat with him ... then guess who gets the responsibility! :headache::headache::headache:

So, that's what's new in my world! Thanks for asking! How's life in the frozen northeast?

Has anyone volunteered one of those aft corner rooms for the room tour? I'm super curious about those rooms. :goodvibes

How did I miss the Illuminations pontoon boat cruise? :confused3 How do I get on board with that?

Well I will have one of those rooms on my March 31st cruise, so I can take pics if you want. I am excited to see them too.

Kelly:thumbsup2

I didn't know they were going to do a move with it ... cool :thumbsup2

IMDB says it should be released in 2011, but it's still listed in pre-production. So, I doubt it will be this year, but I suppose it's possible. :confused3

I happened to catch this tidbit this evening ...
According to national news sources, it is snowing in 49 states across the country including Hawaii where snow has fallen atop Mauna Kea on the Big Island. Florida is the only state without fresh snow.
:scared1:

So, no complaining from you about the weather, you hear?!?! ;)

WOW!!! I can't believe 49 states have snow!! That is kind of cool, actually!!

We all know that Florida has snow all year round, Snow White that is. So that would put snow into all 50 states which I agree is very cool.

We made it we were one of the last flights out of new York!! We beat the snow! By the way I might be able to get some pics inside the Dream next week. I'll post them if I can.

Yeah! You made it! Pics would be awesome!! Good luck with that!

So, that's what's new in my world! Thanks for asking! How's life in the frozen northeast?

Right now life is cold, white and tiring :rotfl: I am currently at my volunteer firehouse on a "snow standby". We basically hang around at the firehouse clearing snow from the property so that we can respond and when the snow slows or stops we go dig out the fire hydrants. This also lets us avoid having to drive from our homes in this fun stuff to get to the firehouse if there is a call.

I had a discussion with some of my staff at work before I left today and let them know that I was not coming in on Wednesday unless there was a disaster. :lmao: Since I do not need to get up for work, I made the wise choice of staying awake all night at the firehouse rather than getting much needed sleep...

Other than that, life is good. I had a chance to play in the beginnings of the snow with my little ones before I came to the firehouse. Good luck with that cat. The key thing to remember is that it WILL one day become your pet since he can't take it with him when he goes away to school or whatever. Perhaps you should see if he is willing to get a dog instead :goodvibes Tell Sneezy I hope he becomes happy again real soon. Take care.

Andy, I guess the good part is all your hydrants remain accessible and you learn exactly where each one is. But I can't help but think how much additional (volunteer) work that must be. Around here, as far as I know, it is the property owner's responsibility to clean around the fire hydrants, but sadly I bet less than one in ten people do.

Hey as long as we're talking fire hydrants and dogs ... no I won't go there. But what are you thoughts on the color of hydrants? I believe the yellow stands out better than the red. But some areas are allowed to brighten up the neighborhood by artistically painting them. It's kinda like the animal sculptures some cities have. Do you all know where each hydrant is located well enough that color doesn't really matter? I tend to think that they are sometimes hard to find because I have seen them marked with blue reflectors imbedded in the pavement (esp southern states), and with reflectorized fiberglass rods (esp in the snow belt).
