09/18/11 - DVCers Take Over the Dream (S.S. Member Cruise 2011) - Thread #4

Ok, I'm going a little crazy here. Last nite, when I was online I found a little cheat sheet for the DREAM that someone had posted a link to. It showed what deck each of the restaurants, clubs, etc was on and folded in half. I thought I found it somewhere on the disboards or on allears.net. Didn't want to print it last nite, thought I'd print it from work today but I can't find it. Does anyone know where the link is?:confused3

Is this it? :wizard:

Ha Ha Ha (apparently the smilies aren't working here). That's funny Jennifer, and good timing! For those of you who don't know, Orange is a British cellular phone service provider, so that's why he tried the Blackberry on Orange.
Thanks :thumbsup2 I was wondering about that 'orange', hence "that's got a few blackspots". :lmao:
Speaking of which, I would say that many of our dongles, here on the SSMC thread are older models, and thus are larger and slower than the barely broken-in ones the whipper-snappers have now-a-days. :)
They do come in differnt sizes, yes...:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rotfl: Thank you for sharing! I am still giggling

You are welcome! :flower3:
Well John, I surely am unable to speak on any size comparison between older and newer models of dongles. However, I have developed a presumption based upon the amount of commercials starring "Smiling Bob" and couples in claw-footed tubs on the beach that the vacuum tubes in many of the older models must have become deflated. :lmao:

So true Andy. Lara does really enjoy using my solid state dongle.

:rotfl:
Even Mickey has his own dongle!!! Fish Extender gift idea!!!!!

Hello friends!!

Hope everyone is well and making those Disney $$$$. Looking into a Disney Cruise summer of 2012. My husband has a few weeks off between his Master's classes, and I thought we would do something. Pretty pricey, but I figure I have over a year to pay it off, right???:thumbsup2

Wow, Andy! Great lists!! I wonder if our awesome Keeper of the Thread and Cruise Webmaster might add those to either post one and/or the cruise webpage? :worship::worship::worship: I'd hate to see such great info get buried!

Well, I screwed up my DVC times today and called too late. I keep forgetting that I have to call them before 2:30, not 4:30. :headache: Now I have to try to get it done tomorrow. I did however make my reservation for the hotel night before the 9/15 cruise. The Residence Inn was booked solid!! So, I booked Country Inn & Suites.

I can hardly believe it, but I decided on all our Disney table service restaurants in one night!:banana::banana: For dinners, we're going to do Kouzzina (we're Iron Chef fans :thumbsup2) , 1900 Park Fare (I'm hoping the step sisters will pick on my "princes":stir::love1::stir:), Ohana (mmmm meat on a stick), Raglan Road (cider, cider, more cider and yummy Irish food), Rose & Crown (yet more cider!!! :rolleyes1), and the Plaza (hopefully before a MSSHP!!). For lunch, Le Cellier (as long as the filet stays on the menu, if not we'll try for dinner or do Tokyo Dining), Via Napoli (I've been craving this style pizza since we left Disneyland), Yak & Yeti (it was this or Tusker House and I have a $50 gift card), and Mama Melrose (I'm saving Brown Derby for when it's just Jason and I - our kids like the Filet far too much!!). We'll (probably) have just one TS breakfast at Crystal Palace (gotta love walking into the park that early!!).

Kyle may twist my arm for an Ohana breakfast. That boy loves him some Stitch. And I still haven't had the Tonga Toast at Kona Cafe. I've been throwing around the idea of spending two nights after the cruise at the Poly. I know I shouldn't. It's a lot of money. But, with 35% off ... it sounds so good!

After scouring the menus, I think I've decided that we are better off getting a Tables in Wonderland card vs paying for the dining plan. We almost never order desert and I usually order ice water to drink.

Now I just have to figure out our itinerary so that I can make ADRs!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Good afternoon everyone. I see that this thread is just teeming with excitement today :rotfl:

Happy Saturday to everybody. To those of you who are beginning to feel withdrawal from Football Season coming on, I hope you enjoy the Senior Bowl today. I understand that there is an indoor PeeWee Football league somewhere in Canada that we can watch once the season ends. It is not televised but when one of the players falls down and starts to cry it is a great time for a bathroom break... :rotfl2:

If anyone will be going to Downtown Disney anytime soon, please let me know. I would like to ask a favor if I may.

Talk to you in a few-

Good afternoon! I had to take my car to the dealership to have some (warranty) work done and get an oil change. TWO AND A HALF HOURS LATER I rushed out of there and headed to my son's last basketball game of the season. Now I'm at home-dirty-home and getting ready to clean. The fun just never ends! :rotfl:

But it's all good...I got a new battery in my car (I've had to have my car jump started about four times since I got it less than two years ago), they lubricated my drivers side window because it was screaming at me every time I rolled it up. :headache: And they fixed the cup holder in the back seat that the kids broke. :sad2:

I hope all of you are having a great weekend so far. :goodvibes

Hi! Checking out passport prices...:surfweb:...$500 for the four of us...:faint:

I so understand! Even though my kids are 13 and 20 y.o., I find all sorts of stuff in the back of the car!!! Esp all the sticky gooey stuff. :sad2:

Hi Karen, By reading your post I noticed your dates. I assume you are going on the same cruise as we all are on Sept.18-22. above you have you made your hotel reservations the night before on 9-15. shouldn't that be Sept.17th? Just wanted to point that out incase you made a mistake. I also have to make my reservations on the Sept.17th too. we are coming down the day before and we have stayed at country inn and suites and you will like it. very clean. [/COLOR]

Hi Diz
I'm glad I'm not the only one that has to plan so far in advance!
The Tonga Toast does sound good! We may go for the DDP since it is our first time at WDW. Just one day at Epcot...maybe...:rolleyes1
Here's what we have planned ( my girls are such foodies, like mom :goodvibes they love to eat :)
Yacht Club, Boma, Akershus (princess breakfast, SURPRISE for them :rotfl:), Le Cellier, Morrocan, Kouzzina. I didn't know who the chef was for Kouzzina, but my daughter knew...:rolleyes1
How's the airfare going? I'm finding anything from $370 (with taxes) to $450/pp from the west coast.
Have a nice day!

Yup, I'm on this cruise. But, we are doing a B2B. The SSMC is the second part of our B2B. So, our Port Canaveral overnight is 9/14-9/15. :goodvibes Glad to hear another recommendation for CI&S. It's always a little nerve racking staying some place new.

May I ask what this wonderland card is? never heard of it before.

The Tables in Wonderland is a card that gives you 20% off at a lot of the table service restaurants at WDW (and a _few_ counter service places and lounges too). You have to be either a Florida resident or an AP holder to buy the card. I believe it's $100 for FL residents and $75 for AP holders. There is an automatic 18% gratuity added (which works for me because that's what we normally tip). The card is good for a year, plus. For example, if you buy it on November 3, it expires November 30th of the following year.

Have to plan ahead. I only have 38 days until I have to make my ADRs. :rotfl2: Epcot is HARD to plan for. Too many great places there. If I could, I'd eat dinner there every night. But, that's just not practical.

We didn't like Marrakesh in Morocco as much as I thought we would. I usually love that type of food, but we kinda had to force ourselves to eat it. :sad2: Maybe it was just a bad night. It's a beautiful building though!

Airfare is crazy high right now! :headache: I'm hoping Southwest will come out with some good prices when they release their September dates on the 8th. I think the days of $200 RT flights coast to coast may be over though. :sad1: I may have to increase that part of the budget. Ack!

Thanks for the input, I kept the Marrakesh open, there's alway Tappan Edo! ;)
I've been watching the airfares, unless you have airmiles or points, I've already seen the airfare go up and down on American Airlines. They do have a offer where they have a payment plan, pay the balance off in six months, no interest. Here's the link just in case:

https://www.aa.com/i18n/reservations/flyNowPayLater.jsp?from=Nav

I hope this helps!

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go...:laundy:...But I do love my job! :lovestruc

G' day!

Thanks! I'll check that link out. I've kind of been toying with the idea of picking up a Southwest credit card. They give you a free RT ticket after you use the card for the first time. Tempting!

I am not sure if this is what you were looking for but here is a quick reference for the Dream
Thanks Andy, this is the info I was looking for, not the one I saw before but it will certainly work. :)

The podcast is having a cruise (actually 2) in 2012. One in the summer and one in December and the prices look good. You might want to check it out.
