THIS WILL BE OUR 5TH MEMBER CRUISE, YES YOU SHOULD BRING EMPTY BAG:rotfl2: THE GIFTS ARE SMALL BUT SOME DO TAKE SPACE. THERE ARE USUALLY SPECIAL DVC PINS. LIMITED QUANTITY, AND THEY SELL OUT. A LOT OF STUFF SELLS OUT BECAUSE SHIP IS FULL OF DVC CRAZIES LIKE ME:rotfl2:IM A PIN COLLECTER SO I GET THERE RIGHT AT 6PM WHEN STORE OPENS. IVE COMPLAINED THE LAST 2 YEARS BECAUSE THEY CUT BACK ON DVC CRUISE GOLF SHIRTS. 2010 THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY. ANYONE WHO CRUISED ON THE LEGENDS CRUISE KNOWS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT.

:ssst:OK, this is the game plan: We will have the on-board meet and then return to our respective rooms for the drill. Once that is done, we must get dressed in full disney camouflage and synchronize our watches. Since you are the experienced one, I will cover your flank as we execute battle plan DELTA-VICTOR-CHARLIE-MIKE-GOLF (otherwise known as DVC Merchandise Grab). Upon completion we will rendevouz at a beverage location to celebrate our victory.:drinking1:drinking1 Remember: No man or mouse merchandise is left behind!

I have begun PT in preparation=====> :yay:

Hi Andy:cool1: I have to tell you my DH is a retired POC ff. He had over 31 years before he was retired. He comes from a long line of ff, his dad was assitant chief, his grandpa was chief and uncles and brother all served. I am proud to say my son is also a POC ff in a neighboring town. You are all very brave, thank you :worship:

Lynn, we are all part of the same big family so you understand that no thanks are needed. I too come from a family of ff and police so I can't ever remember not doing this this type of thing. I really appreciate your kind words though and hope to spend some time chatting with you on-board the DREAM! :cool2: Best Wishes

BY THE WAY YOU CAN BRING YOUR OWN BOOZE. I BROUGHT 2 BOTTLES OF RUM ON 2010 CRUISE. MY BAR BILL WAS STILL AROUND $200:cool1: THE SHOPS CANT OPEN UNTIL 6pm. THIS WILL OUR FIST CRUISE ON THE DREAM SO WE WILL BE EXPLORING BEFORE THE SAILAWAY. WITH DRINK OF THE DAY IN HAND, MUST KEEP FLUID LEVEL UP:rotfl2: I THINK THEY WILL DO MORE FOR THIS CRUISE SINCE ITS THE FIRST ON THE DREAM AND THEY WERE RECEIVING SOME REMARKS FROM REPEAT CRUISERS WHO NOTICED THAT THERE SEEM TO BE CUT BACKS.

THE 2010 DVC CRUISE WAS OUR 7th DISNEY CRUISE, SO WE BECAME GOLD CASTAWAYS, I FOUND OUT WHILE ON THE SHIP, IF I PURCHASED $100 WORTH OF MERCHANDISE PER RECEIPT I RECEIVED $25 OFF. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO I THINK I BOUGHT ABOUT $700 WORTH OF STUFF:rotfl2:

:rotfl::rotfl::lmao::rotfl2: That sounds sooooo much like something I would do... I was thinking of bringing a couple of bottles on board but I have no clue where I can buy them over there. I know there is nothing close enough to the port but I was going to walk over to HESS station across from DD and see what they have. I am flying in a couple of days early and staying on property. I will be relying totally on either Disney transportation or a cab unless I can walk there...

you could also check the bus system you can ride all day for a couple bucks. We do it to go to florida mall. It picks you up right at the corner of dtd where you turn where all the big hotels are. You can get off on the opposite side of the road. I might stop at liquor store in niagara falls ont the way to airport and put in my luggage.

Truffle reporting for duty here. I will cover the other flank for this battle plan. I too have started my PT for preparation as well! :jumping1: (I have always been pretty good at bouncing off the walls!)

Andy, we are coming in the day before and staying at AKL for that night. We are renting a car for the drive out to the coast, and would be happy to give you a ride to a 'real' store! Let me know if you are interested... :drinking:

You are a God! I am staying at AK-Kidani... That would be amazing, thank you thank you thank you thank you I LOVE SHARKS (oops, wrong message...)

If our strategic manuver needs a recruit to cover the flank, I am reporting for the duty of bringing up the rear.

Just a thought about the camo mickey ears, if they are done really well, we won't seem them anyway.:confused3

Hi Andy,
I have walked offsite from OKW. Well actually talked to the guards at the entrance of OKW and hitched a ride with them to Hotel Row (International Drive?) and walked offsite for breakfast than back to DTD for bus back to OKW. Pretty much before everyone was up and ready. Rather enjoyable ... exploring alone.

A friend that we took down there last year talked a bus driver into a ride to the edge of the property and waiting for a few minutes while he went off and bought a 6 pack. It was late at night, and prolly the drivers last run of the day... Things can be arranged sometimes. :)

So would anyone around here (perhaps a sib of mine ??? ) know why it is taking FOREVER for firefox to download to my pc? Anyone? .... Bueller?

How fast is your web connection? You can find out at: speedtest.net/ I can't think why it would DL slow to your PC. Let me know what your speed test says, and we can go from there.

I'll bet it was one of those late night, drop people everywhere runs, because, typically the drivers are on programmed routes. If they deviate from thier designated route (via GPS signal?) the engine shuts down. It has happened to us. The driver must reboot the computer with a new destination in order to restart. Simply amazing to me that Disney tracks their busses so closely. Only thing I can figure is, they have had a rogue driver somewhere in the past.

Or maybe Wally is around and can give one of his ideas. Although, since that is how he earns his Disney Dollar$, he may not be too forthcoming with one for free!

For your BLT Lake View, you should put in a request for an Even Numbered Room, North End of Building. The Even Numbers are those on the outside of the C and the North End is the end closest to the MK.

Thanks Michael,

You have some very good tips/insight about Disney (and the coffee maker, but I doubt I'll ever get one of those). I'm taking notes to make our future visits better!

Wally has been very good at pointing me in the right direction. I would hesitate to ask him to hold my hand to trouble-shoot something specific, because he probably wants to relax and have fun here, but having never met him he has been very gracious with his expertise with me.

Wouldn't it be ironic if we spent the next 40 posts talking about the "King of Pirates" and he missed the next prize?
