Bring new to this(first time cruiser) I want ask two questions
1. Do we need to bring a lite weight jacket for nights outside on deck? My wife is going to bring hers just in case.
2. Hate to ask this one what about sea sickness? How bad do the ships rock or can you feet it? I have been told it is mind over matter. In my case no mind so it doesn't matter. Bill

Do you normally have any motion sickness (car, ride, etc.)? If not, you'll probably be ok. But, it's probably best to be prepared with some Bonine, just in case. :thumbsup2

Wow! I'm on hold with DCL and I have a really rude CM helping me! Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!! :confused3

The more appropriate question would be "Do we need to bring a lite weight jacket for the dining rooms? I swear they keep the air so low in the dining areas...I always freeze!!

I get motion sickness REALLY bad. I was AMAZED at how calm the water was on last years SSMC (with a hurricane brewing out in the Atlantic, too). I didn't have to take ANY medication at all for the motion sickness. That was our 7th cruise and the 1st time I didn't need motion sickness meds. :thumbsup2 But, I would come prepared just in case. I used to use the patch (prescription from dr.) but the last few times I used it, I started experiencing all the nasty side effects! :sad2:

IF you forget to bring something, they sell the bracelets in the gift shops AND they have free motion sickness medicine (not sure which one it is) in the medical facility.

Happy Friday everyone!

Just checking in before we check in to board the plane to Mickey's West Coast House :goodvibes

Heard D23 is very crowded!

Ok, that's funny. You're like 7 or 8 hours away and driving. And I drove 15 - 16 hours. :rotfl2:

AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! WHY DOES DCL MAKE THINGS SO DIFFICULT!?

I faxed in the dining request forms to make sure we were all "linked" together for dining. The one for THIS cruise went through fine. But the one for the 9/15 cruise didn't work. I don't understand since I sent them both at the same time to the same email.

Anyway...I called a little while ago and was given a different email address than what I already had. So I sent my email there and it came back undeliverable. So now I'm back on hold with DCL waiting to get a THIRD email address. Hopefully the "Third time is a charm" holds true here. I really don't feel like sitting on the phone with DCL all night!!! Now if I was sitting ON DCL all night....that would be a different story! :lmao:

I hear people take that FREE medicine as a preventative measure. Ask for motion-sickness medication. Pop a pill before you go to sleep. 24 hrs later, bythe time it might start wearing off, it'll be time to ask fo another pill and hit the sack. I'd rather ask for a pill when I'm feeling fine :) as opposed to feeling like I'm on my deathbed.
I agree with those other posts, though. If you're not prone to motion sickness, you'll probably be fine anyway.

last years cruise the temp was around 100 degrees in the daytime. I think you would want a lite jacket if it rains. As far as the seas, i think the worst area is between port canaveral and bahammas. Your travelling down the atlantic there. Unless the weather gets bad and they will try to avoid that, the ship usually just sways a tiny bit. If your prone to seasickness you might notice it at dinnertime on the first night. The ship is moving faster then and there is a slight sway. One member cruise we came back on the last night trailing a tropical storm and the wind was stronger. All night the ship clanked and the hangers rattled as the ship went thru the swells.
