At this very hour (east coast time) one month from now I will be driving into the happiest place on earth! I can't believe it's almost here. Seriously I was at work yesterday and my boss was being a little, well...like a boss can sometimes be, and I just started thinking about walking down main street and I got chills. I had a smile on my face the rest of the day! :teeth: Eric is even getting a little excited. Althgough he shows it in different ways. He said that we have to get a new battery for the video camera so we don't have the same problem recording Wishes we did last time. :thumbsup2

LLD&WCD, What part of TN are you from? I just cam back from visiting my family in Knoxville?

Wow, my DD is 8 also. We will have a whole gang of 8-9 year old girls on the cruise! She is an only child, so we are always looking for playmates for her. She enjoys the kid's clubs much more when she has friends there.

My DD will be looking for friends to. She is not an only child, but her step brothers and sisters are all in their early twenties, so it's the same as being an only child. She and I are cruising alone. I am sure the girls will become great friends.

ericamanda01 - We live in Kingsport -- Knoxville is about an hour to an hour and 1/2 from our house. We got to Piegon Forge (Dollywood) quite a bit -- it's the closest theme park to us (since our Disney home is so far away) and we have season passes (thanks to my Dh's mother-- X-mas gift) anyway. So it usually takes me an hour or so to drive to Piegon Forge (Dollywood) & another 30 mins or so to be in Knoxville. We love our location - it's right near the interstate and like I said we're not far @ all from Piegon Forge/Knoxville.
And I can't rem who posted above & invited us to the MNSSHP ( I hope that is right ) but we are not leaving TN till 4:50 on Friday & won't be @ MCO till 6:30 ( we actually got a direct flight to MCO --we were so excited ) and by the time we get to the Beach Club we were planning on just grabbing some dinner maybe @ Downtown Disney or @ the resort & maybe doing a little swimming. We had 1st thought about going but I believe we'll pass on the party & just stay back & relax @ the resort. I have to work 1/2 a day b4 we leave on Friday - and like I said we're going to try & fit all 4 parks in on 9/23 & 9/24 before we head back home on 9/25 --so hopefully we'll get our fill of Disney. But thanks for the invite!!!!!!!! And again I can't wait !!!!!! We're getting so excited !

I realize Budget is the closest to the port. Mousesavers lists a bunch of codes including one for Shaw's Supermarkets (I'm in New England). Is anyone renting from Budget at the port and recommend a discount code they've used? I'd appreciate any info. I'm so behind schedule with my planning. We'd been considering cancelling the cruise for the past month due to a family crisis. I've been numb from the situation, but trying to snap out of it and start getting organized. Thanks so much, Maggie

Gail, I'm sure Kelsey would love to meet your DD.

Girl, I just read your other thread, and I think the attorney who posted had some valid points! ::yes:: I don't have any Budget codes for you :sad2: but when "soon to be ex-husband" gets on your nerves, you come see your new close friends Thea & Cindy! We're on a girl's only cruise and we've both been there and done that with failed marriages (a few times each actually) UGH! :confused3 I have no clue which cabin we're in (unassigned GTY at this point) but we'll know at check in, and you'll see the three of us, we'll have the tiaras on! If you do end up cruisin' you be sure to say "Hi"

You guys will never guess what I found in the local dollar store! Lime Green, yes DIS green purses (little purses) with silver tiaras embroidered on them and the word "Princess" Ha! You know I had to buy three of them! :Pinkbounc So it'll be Tiaras and lime green purses at the terminal for us girls at embarkation. We're gonna' look so stupid.... but I don't care, 'cause we'll be going on a Disney Cruise! :smooth:

Maggie here is a link to mouse savers.http://www.mousesavers.com/rentalcar.html They always seems to have some code or another for every car rental place in town. Just click on the Budget link or whichever agency you want. Hope this helps. And welcome aboard the crazy crew!

:Pinkbounc  :cheer2: I hit my 30 day mark! WOOHOOOO!!! :cheer2:  :Pinkbounc

PS does this mean I can start packing? :teeth:

You haven't started packing yet???

/kidding

I don't even have a schedule for our Disney trip, or a list of things to pack. I'm slipping. My kids are teasing me.

Also- look for us to be one person short due to current events. :guilty:

Julie

Amanda01 - make sure you send off your box of toothpaste and hair gel by the end of the month! :guilty: Looks like our group will be shipping even more stuff to the warehouse before the cruise than we planned since we can't take shampoo and toothpaste, not to mention suncreen and bug spray onboard! UGH. I don't know if avoiding FLA sales tax is less cost effective than shipping shampoo....I am so bent...I really didn't want to buy all the "goo-ie stuff" in Florida...I like not paying sales tax! :confused3 PITA. :stir:

On the flip side ~ I bought a gown for formal night. At least one night our party will be presentable :rotfl:

Julie ~ I'm sorry this has impacted you guys...it sucks a lot more than compaining about carry on. :guilty: I feel for you :grouphug:

If things don't change by next month, You all aren't getting any Oregon Reisling! :sad2: It'll be a whine and cheese party...not a wine and cheese party.

Oh don't be silly, we can pack all that stuff in our checked bags, just not in our carry on's. I got a little scared when I heard that we couldn't bring any electronics in our carry on's. But it turns out that is just for UK flights. I have a feeling that the security measure are just tight and will remain so for the next week or so. By the time we leave things should even out. I am just so thankful that they caught whomever it was and no one was hurt.

From your fingers to the TSA's eyes!!!!

Yes, a very good thing the "meanies" were caught ahead of time. I thought a five hour flight with no water bottle was long, I can't even imagine what our friends "across the pond" are gonna' do on their flights for entertainment! Airlines had best brush up on their in flight movies! :thumbsup2

Eric and I already made the decision that we are going to get to the airport 3 hours early. Our flight leaves on a friday night, so you just know that Seattle airport will be pretty full at that time. Were even gonna shell out the $25 a person to kick back in the Alaskan Airlines Boardroom lounge. That way we can relax and start off our vacation the right way. Besides we just know we would end up spending at least $25 on crap food on the Airport. At least the crap food in the Boardroom is free once you get the day pass.

Well I haven't been this tired in months. I have taken the past 2 months off from work and I started back on Monday. Well I made the mistake of telling them that I was avalible anytime, to they had me work everyday this week. I havn't worked a full week since I started school 2 years ago. All I really want to do is sit. And don't get me started on how messy my house is. Thank goodness I have Sat - Tues off so I can clean. Yeah, that's how I want to spend my birthday, cleaning. Acually it is! :teeth: Cleaning and maybe a little packing! :p

Amanda and Thea-

Take some comfort in this re: the flight restrictions. IF dh doesn't get deployed (and he won't unless something actually happens), and the flight restrictions stay in place, you guys are only flying from Oregon. We're going to be flying back and forth to KAZAKHSTAN! Twice. One flight back with me, 12 year old dd, and our newly adopted, non-English speaking, pre-school aged ds with no laptop, no DVD player, no little gadgets to sedate the kiddies, no snacks...

AHHHHH! That said, I'm so thankful I was moved to buy Autotrain tickets back and forth to FL this trip instead of flying or driving.

oh Julie :worship: you win. I wouldn't want to trade places with you! :rotfl: But, having your children will be worth all the fuss! ::yes::

Amanda01 - do tell about this Alaskan Airlines Boardroom at SEA~TAC.....
I know there are flight lounges for other airlines but you usually have to have an annual membership and I don't travel by air enough to warrant one of those...can anybody pay to hang out in a lounge with a sofa and a television to pass the time or is it for AA ticketed customers only?!?! I knew I should have jumped on that AA ticket when I saw it...but we got such great prices on Delta... :confused3 Do tell...Do tell

Mekayla, Cindy and I are ordering buttons...do you guys want buttons? Do we want to do a big Double Scoop Group DIS Board matching button thing? I think this was brought up, but don't remember hearing a final answer. So I'll be placing a button order, I'll either do one design for my travel party or we can do a group design, let me know. I am going to order by August 18th.

I'm pretty sure you have to have and AA ticket to get the day pass, but hey you can at least go an ask when your there.

It's so funny I have been bragging about this trip at work and today some of my fellow coworkers that are, well lets just say they are the types to find something wrong with every, started telling me all the problems I will be having with our flights. I explained to them that I already checked with the TSA website and I kow what I can and can't bring on the plane with me. One of them actually argued with me saying that it changed and that you can't carry ANYTHING on the plane, only your ticket. :rotfl: I said "Fine, that's all I need anyway!" Some people! Oh well I will be sure to send them a postcard the first day I get to WDW! :stir: (insert evil grin here!) :stir:

Now I read today it's only liquids that are banned on domestic US flights? Am I wrong?

Well anyway- Amanda- don't people like that make you nuts? I have family that way. Everything is an issue.

At the rate my homestudy agency's going, I won't be flying to Kaz for a looooooong time. Even the government (immigration) was faster than them and you know that's bad.

Julie
(one more lab to write, one more chapter to read, and one final exam to take before I can really get cracking on the trip)
