And in 12 hours... Im leaving for Vegas to catch my plane on Friday morning!!

So....I never knew how much stuff you can get done if you just don't sleep. Started a new job this week and poof...insomnia. The good news is I finished our fish extenders and tailored my boys' suit pants all before 5:00 this morning. Today is my day off, so I think a healthy dose of Tylenol PM will facilitate a nap later this afternoon.
I know our group will appreciate this: all night long I had a song stuck in my head and couldn't get rid of it, "Vacation" by the Go-Go's. I think my subconsious is telling me something. Ha! We also got our documents yesterday, my in-laws are still waiting for theirs even though they live 1/2 hour away. Had several issues with on-line check-in last night. Going to try again today.

Hi all. Good morning. I am so happy to see the DIS up today!
Since I homeschool I get my DIS time in during the morning while the girls eat or at lunch while they eat again. Yesterday, the DIS wasn't working!!!!!! I couldn't believe how much I missed it. So I went to You Tube and watched DCL videos. There are some great ones posted there! That gave me my DCL fix since I couldn't DIS.

I still haven't started packing. I have my hair appointment today. The girls go next Tuesday for their appointments. I did find boots for pirate costumes at Target yesterday. Oldest DD has boot tops that come with her costume. Youngest DD doesn't have any with her costume.
Tomorrow is youngest DD's birthday party. The girls will all be spending the night. I will not get too much done then.
Oh yes, DH told me yesterday that a friend called and plans to come visit next week. Their daughter is moving to the area for some type of school. She has to be moved into the room/dorm by September 14. The school is about a 20 minute drive from us and the parents are planning to stay with us while they help move her in. We plan to leave on the 14th. I don't know how it is going to happen. The husband told my DH that he would call back this weekend and confirm plans.
Oh yes, one more thing, I am in a wedding two weeks after the cruise.....a bridesmaid. I have to go buy DDs dresses for the wedding some time !!!!!

Welcome Bahogg! I am also a new diser. I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

I am packed and ready to go. I have one suitcase full of shoes. I am so glad that I am not the only shoe addict.

My DD dislocated her shoulder at the soccer game Tuesday. I really feel bad about leaving her but not bad enough to cancel my trip.

She is 17 and will be staying with my parents so she will be waited on hand and foot.

I am looking forward to seeing all the princesses in their dresses. The only thing is I will warn all the mothers when they get older their princess dresses are a lot more expensive. Meg's prom dress was as close as we could find to Belle's dress. I guess you never out grow being a princess.

How in the heck can I make sure my boys have dress shirts and dress pants for formal night that fit them without telling them why?????
And Bethany, oh my, she needs dress shoes how do you buy a pair of shoes for a girl without having her with you???? The lies that are going ot come out of my mouth for the next week..... Is it okay to lie if it is for a good thing?

Tell the boys that you are making them try on clothes, to see if you need to get rid of them at the garage sale. Or you could tell all the kids that you are planning to take a "nice" picture of all the kids dressed up, while they are all together at WDW, like at the Grand Floridian. When you get to Florida, you can make up some excuse as to why you are not having their picture made after all.

Anyone seen/heard from Lisa0503 lately? I sent her a pm a few days ago but haven't seen her lurking. I didn't know if she was lucky enough to go down a few days before the cruise, etc.

I sent her a pm so she could add my family as a group involved with the fish extenders and the excursions we have planned.

Can you believe its almost here??? I am so excited, every morning I wake up, and say to the kids, where are we going in xx days? And they yell, back to a Disney Cruise (Lauren who's 3, yells, to Mickeys boat), they are almost as excited as me!!!

DH just called. There has been an emergency come up for his work.................IN SPAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He has to fly there on Saturday morning to deal with it. There is no choice; he has to go. He said that he will fly into Orlando on Friday. The girls and I will have to drive down without him. He will meet us at the hotel.
What is the best way for him to get from the Orlando airport to the hotel in Cocoa Beach on Friday? His flight will arrive before the girls and I make it in. He will beat us to the hotel. How does he get to the hotel?

First take a deep breath. Next run around all crazy like and get it out of your system . Now take another deep breath.

Do you have a list of everything you need to get done for your vacation (including printing up driving directions, etc.)? If not I would do that first then start going down the list and getting those items accomplished (if you find you need to add items to the list then just append to the bottom).

How much earlier does his flight get in to orlando prior to your arrival at cocoa beach? One option, if its not to much time difference, is to take a trip to MCO and pick him up (if he has to wait at the airport for an hour or two that hopefully won't kill him).

I'm also going to "Spain" over Thanksgiving to avoid my DH's family. Oh... Oh! And I'm going to "Spain" the same week as my next gyno appointment and this weekend so as to not have to mow the lawn.

The cheapest way for him to get to Cocoa Beach is probably to rent a car. The easiest way would be to hire a car service. I don't know what would be best for him.

I can't remember, are you and the kids driving down or flying? If you are driving, maybe he could just hang around the airport until you can get there to pick him up, then drive to Cocoa Beach? Or change your hotel, and stay in Orlando that night and drive to the port the next day?

DH just called again because he knows we are on lunch break now.
I was wrong about him beating us to Cocoa Beach. I heard him say 2 PM flight. I thought that was the flight in to Florida. However, it is the flight leaving NC. His flight to Florida arrives at 8:40 PM. He will take a rental car to the hotel because I am not good driving in new places in the dark. He doesn't want me driving from Cocoa Beach to Orlando. He said that he will just get a rental car. The company will cover the cost of that since the travel is due to work.
Now, he asked which rental car company has a drop off at port? We have never had to get a rental car before. We have always driven so this is new to us. What rental car place will take him one way from Orlando airport to Cocoa Beach hotel, then let him drop off before we board the ship?
Also, I have never had to make this drive before. It will be close to 9 hours from NC. I do have a GPS system in my car. Does anyone know how bad this drive will be for me? Is Jacksonville the only major city that I will get around? I am so nervous!
He will be on the Meditteranean in Spain!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it??!?!?!? I told him this is not fair. He is promising a great souvenir!!

We got our cruise docs yesterday. DS was very excited that we got our "tickets." It's been chaos over here with my office move, DS starting Kindergarten, and the cruise come up next week.

Speaking of kindergarten...I am still furious that I have to request permission to take him out of school. I hate the bureaucratic BS. It's kindergarten...and only half-day! Grrrr. I haven't heard anything back yet, but it doesn't really matter what they say because he's going anyway. Needless to say, I'm not going to take him out during school again because I don't feel like dealing with this.

Oh, and I was looking at the cruise site and it says our stateroom number is 5639, but it is actually 5634. I can't remember at the moment who is running that site...too much going on in my brain.

Hey we are homeschooler also.... And my parents are both from North Carolina. My mom is from Clyde and my dad is from Canton.

Does anyone have a total count on how many kids are in the disgroup and their ages, and thier gender? I looked at the other web-site but it looks as if their has been more since then.
If anyone has a DS 12 or DS 8 when my boys get there and find out that they are going on the cruise they could both use a friend. Bethany is all set but she always loves to meet new friends she is 9. I just hate to lisen to DS 8 complain that he has to be with his sister and her friends so he won't hardly go to the kids club and DS 12 will go be he is alone. He gets along with other kids well but he will not make the first attempt to meet. So if anyone has ds's my ds's ages maybe at the meet we could introuduce them.
Well I am off to try to get some stuff together and I let my friends know that I am having a garage sale and I am having people already wanting to come over before it starts...... So I am outta her,

TLHB70 - I am so sorry to hear about your DH. Isn't it just like a man to arrange all of this and then be gone. I have amde the drive fron Louisville Ky to Orlando and Pt Canaveral several times with the kids by myself. If you have a GPS system it will be easy. My DH always has something come up so that he does not have to drive with us. There may be a pattern to this. I wish I could send you a fairy godmother to take care of everthing. I would think most of the car rental places would have an office in the port.

I was so glad to see you have boys, as it appears that there are a lot of girls that age, but not many boys. My oldest is 10 1/2 and my youngest will be 9 next month. I'm sure they would love to meet your boys, we could even have them e-mail each other if you like-beforehand.
