09/15/07 Early Check in September 15, 2007 Eastern

Retro Julie I am with you I hope they are showing the third Pirates. We saw the 2nd one last year on the cruise. I hope someone on the 9/1 eastern cruise will post the navagators from that cruise. It should just about be the same.

Jnorris we will all know who your daughter is when she gets there without clothing.:rotfl2:

I did not realize there was magnetic paper. :wizard: I am going to have to get some. I made poster board signs for our doors and bought magnetic clips but the paper would be much easier. You guys are geniuses!:cheer2:

pirate: well JNorris, I'm with you. I've never seen any of the Pirates movies. Maybe they'll have a Pirates' marathon.popcorn::

I'm out of ideas for the door. Does anyone have suggestions or past photos?

I go to lunch and you guys start talking up a storm. My dd5 would only pack toys too. She would pack pj's and a swim suit or 5. She would be wearing the same thing all week too.

We did not come up with magnetic paper but yes it is cool.

I also would like to see the 3rd pirates on the cruise. I have not seen it yet. I only saw the first 2 this year and loved them.

I hadn't even thought about making a door sign. Gosh! My to-do list is getting longer and longer by the minute. What do people usually put on their door signs anyways? We're not celebrating anything other than a vacation - so would you make a door sign? And also... this is the non-trusting part of my brain talking - do they "grow legs"?

This is only our second Disney cruise. We didn't make any door signs for our first cruise so this will be a new challenge for me. I am watching this posted thread and getting ideas. I will attempt to make signs this weekend.
Any cruiser can make a sign. It doesn't have to be for a birthday, anniversary, etc. Any Disney cruise is reason to celebrate!

We make signs because we all basically have no life outside of Disney...

Seriously, it's just a fun thing to do. You will see some doors decorated like crazy, and some with just a sign or two. Most people don't do anything.

That said, I didn't make signs for my first cruise, but I have for every cruise since then. And I've only made one sign for each cruise. Then I found out some people make like 20 signs, and cover the entire door, and change them out every day.

And yes, sometimes they do grow legs. I've heard that if you put your names and cabin numbers on them, they are less likely to get taken. I don't usually put our names, but I do put my cabin numbers on them.

I checked our Target this past weekend, and they didn't have the magnet paper. I hate going to Walmart, but it looks like I'll have to.

Went to Walmart yesterday, had the cart loaded including the magnet paper, and then there was a fire...Fire alarm went off, and I didnt react, I just figured that some kid pulled it accidently...then 4 nutes later you could smell the fire, I grabbed the girls and flew outta the store leaving the whole cart behind...Oh well, another day!

Since you all are talking about packing...dd9 asked me if she could pack her bag for the cruise the other day. I said "it's more than 2 weeks away" but she begged so I said OK. She spent 30 minutes in her room "packing" a bag, and came out and announced "she's packed".

I haven't looked in the bag yet, but I can promise you there is not a stitch of clothing in the bag. I guess she's going to wearing her birthday suit the whole time!

:lmao: :rotfl2: Too Funny...My DD's wanted to pack their own bags...I told them no...I have all of the kids clothes packed, as they dont need their shorts now that school has started....Just got to pack for Tim and I.

Wow, I'm glad you are all OK. The store didn't burn down did it?

By the way...New Year's Eve at Disney World! That sounds so fun (except for the crowds!) We went a few years ago. We drove down on NYE, and then spent the next few days. Guess where the Disney lovers spent NYE?

Seaworld. :confused3

But it was cool. Didn't make it til midnight though, after driving for 8 hours, we did good to make it to 11pm.

Kelsey just told me what was in the bag...she's bringing GAMES! Like she's gonna be BORED or something! :lmao:

Games???:rotfl:
That is hilarious.....
You know, I always bring a few books, but seriously have never finished even one!;) I usually have so many things I highlight to do on the Navs and I never get to them all....but I am not complaining!:thumbsup2

You'd think she'd never been on DCL before...this is our 5th cruise.

Like we are going to be sitting in the cabin playing Disney Scene-It! We can do that at home!

I told her "we won't have a DVD player", so now she has switched it with Disney Uno. Well, at least she's sticking to the Disney games!

My husband may freak out if he sees too many red-heads on one ship. I'm 5'4 and have naturally red hair-not carrot red but strawberry with lots of freckles (of course). I don't know about anyone else's temperment, but mine tends to be a bit firey, he may be nervous if we gang up on him.:goodvibes
Have a great night
Tara
PS. thinking about movie treats for the fish extenders, but trying to find something that won't melt in the suitcase is a bit of a challenge. I'm thinking twizzlers, I don't think they'll melt.

Tara...
A real good friend of ours says the redheads come from another planet, since they really have such a strange personality.:lmao:
We sure do... it's called airhead in my case:rotfl2:
I'll keep mt DCL hat on alot.:thumbsup2

Ann :sail:

Hey, I think we should all dye our hair red for the cruise!

We could be the "crazy cruisin' redheads"! :lmao:
When he does not shave it, dh is a redhead, and both of my girls are natural strawberry blondes. I on the other hand am a store bought redhead, but it does not stay in mu hair for long, so by the end of the cruise I will be a strawberry blonde too.

Two weeks from today...

WE LEAVE FOR OUR VACATION!!!

I think this week I'm going to stop list-making and start packing! Can't pack too much, we are still in t-shirt, shorts, bathing suit weather (and will be for a while). But I figure I can get my dressy stuff packed first.

I will dance with you.:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: We leave in two weeks from today too. I need to start making a list instead of keeping it all in my head. I have so much to do and we are going to the cottage this weekend. Next weekend is going to be so busy getting ready.

So DH decided to upgrade to a cat 7 and now we have a new room number, 5639. I am really glad that we are still on floor five. I really liked that it was only one floor up from the lobby and restaurants and close to the kids' clubs for DS. I am sure I will end up liking the navigator's verandah even though I thought it was rather silly to do. It's not like we spend that much time in the room, but maybe with DS needing to go to bed earlier and take naps we will. Oh well, if it keeps DH happy...

I'm going to work on door signs next week. I think I'm going to get DS to help me pick stuff to put on it. I still can't believe he's starting Kindergarten. My baby is getting so big! He's really looking forward to the cruise. He keeps asking me how many more days until Mickey, so I'm thinking of making one of those paper chains where we can remove a link each day.

Megan- Cool that you guys have a verandah now. Should be nice to sit there before turning in for the night and relax.
We have a countdown on our fridge. I made little sheets with the days on them, and each day we tear one off. We are at 15 days to go and it is a pic of the ship! It has been so fun counting down!!!

My aunt and I are working on our door magnets and have some cute designs. I cannot wait to print them out!:thumbsup2

Dh and I went through all the clothes last night...It covered our queen size bed! :scared1: We figured out we only need one thing for the boys...khaki pants. Should not be a problem finding those. DH needs much more! He needs some shorts and pants. He actually has NO pants for dinner besides his suit pants, so we are going to get him a pair of khaki and a pair of Navy slacks...should match all his tropical and disney shirts we got for dinner. I just need some shorts....gotta hit the clearance!:rotfl: So we are doing ok...now just to organize toiletries and such. Packing for a 13 day trip is alot...I can only imagine those of you packing for 3 weeks!:scared1: Actually, I am jealous! LOL!:goodvibes 3 weeks sounds great!:cloud9:
Next year we are going to book back to back 3nt-4nt...DH cant take more than 12 days in a row off work...rules:confused: So if we do that we can still get a few WDW days in!
Ha, look at me, already planning next year!:3dglasses

As for this year, I am still hoping to get some recent Navs....need to plan out what other times I might want to put the boys in Flounders and I love to know what is going on!:cutie: When the movies arepopcorn:: , when are the dance parties :hippie: (60's, 70's, 80's), when the wine, beer tastings :drinking1 are, etc.....so much to plan!!!!

RIght now I hope to meet you all at 3pm near the Mickey Pool ::MickeyMo and then hope to see some of you at the Cove meet on Monday morning at 8:30!:coffee:

Okay, gotta run...check back later!
