09/15/07 Early Check in September 15, 2007 Eastern

As for this year, I am still hoping to get some recent Navs....need to plan out what other times I might want to put the boys in Flounders and I love to know what is going on!:cutie: When the movies arepopcorn:: , when are the dance parties :hippie: (60's, 70's, 80's), when the wine, beer tastings :drinking1 are, etc.....so much to plan!!!!

Okay, gotta run...check back later!

Kami, I posted a message on the meets thread for the Eastern before us, to see if someone would agree to bring back navigators and either email them, or fax them to me. No one responded to me :confused3 .

I know I am planning to bring back a set to post. It really helps to know ahead of time what's going on, so you don't feel so overwhelmed on the cruise. I know I have to get DD to agree to activities in the Lab, so we can try to plan Palo.

Wow, I'm glad you are all OK. The store didn't burn down did it?

By the way...New Year's Eve at Disney World! That sounds so fun (except for the crowds!) We went a few years ago. We drove down on NYE, and then spent the next few days. Guess where the Disney lovers spent NYE?

Seaworld. :confused3

But it was cool. Didn't make it til midnight though, after driving for 8 hours, we did good to make it to 11pm.

No, the fire was small and in the back store rooms...I was back in there today, and bought what I needed.

This will be our 1st time at WDW for NYE...I am a little apprehensive about the crowds, but we have done the 4th of July for 3 years now, so how bad can NYE be? Oh well it should be fun!

Seaworld is fun...just not Disney...I have a friend who lives in Orlando, and has designed alot of the rides and attractions at Seaworld, and Universal...His latest was at the Kennedy Space Center...

We are on lunch break right now so I decided to call DCL and check on our documents. After checking my reservation number, the rep told me that our documents had just been processed today and that we should receive them at the beginning of next week. :cool1:

I want my docs:dance3: I want my docs:dance3: I want my docs:dance3:

Thanks Judy. I hope someone gets the Navs. I still cannot believe that NO ONE on the DIS has them since Feb!!

I am hoping they havent changed too much interms of what days and nights are what......need to set up Flounders and such.:cutie:

Finally got a break at work - I think I need to get going on sending out my box. I kind of feel we are widdling our way down to the date and there isn't enough time to get everything. I am always fearful I will forget something and therefore I think I tend to overpack. I will try my hardest not to overpack this time.

Was poking around the sticky thread and noticed that if you wanted to call and get the current movies to call ressies - I did.

The lady pulled out the current list, which she said will be showing while we are there on 9/15, and any new Disney released movie between now and then will also be shown:

Wild Hogs
Meet the Robinsons
Bridge to Terabithia
POTC2
POTC3
Invincible
Ratatouille
Underdog
Prestige
Incredibles
The Wild

Welll Duh on my part...

This cruise is the FIRST cruise for an Eastern since the Magic went to the Med. back in May. So I think you may have to post something from a Trip Report back in April.

No, there is a Sept 1 Eastern leaving this weekend.

Yes - from what I have read you can send a box ahead and it will be in your stateroom upon arrival. I plan on sending items down that I don't want to pack as they will take up unnecessary space (i.e. sand toys, oversized carrying bag, etc.). I have read that many folks do this and its quite painless. They suggest to ship it out via UPS or FEDEX so you can track it - there was more information on the address at the sticky FAQ. If anyone is interested, though, I can verify the information with Disney on the address (but I believe the below is correct).

Sending packages ahead of time to the ship:

Each package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date,
stateroom number and packing slip that details the content of the
package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient.

Do not send bulk packages of water, they will be outright rejected.

Packages, boxes, gifts, etc:
(Excluding food, beverages (liquor, water, etc.), other chemicals and
luggage)

IDS c/o (Ship Name) / Ground Services
Guest Name / Stateroom #
9001 Marlin Street
Cape Canaveral, FL 32920

Packages must arrive by 5:00 PM on Friday for Saturday and Sunday
sailings. Packages must arrive by 5:00 PM on Wednesday for Thursday
sailings.

We loved Underdog!!!!!! It is precious!!!!!!! We really liked Ratatouille too, but honestly liked Underdog better.
DH and I loved Invincible too. It was a date night movie. I am a big football fan so I especially liked it. DH and I will have to go see it again on the ship while the DDs are at the club.

I bought a few sand toys for DDs. I was thinking about shipping them down ahead of time. However, after seeing pictures of some of Shirley's baskets, I am wondering if I should order them baskets with sand toys instead. :confused3

Does anyone know yet if we will dock or tender in St. Maarten?
My private tour asked me which we will do. Apparently there are two different arrival places depending on how we arrive at port -- docking or tendering. The guide has to know where to meet me.
I didn't know what to tell her.

I was under the impression we always docked in St. Maarten :confused3 but don't hold me to that.

I know that in St. Thomas it could be either, depending on how many ships they have in port that day.

By the way, does anyone know how to find out how many ships are scheduled for St. Thomas? I know there is a website somewhere, maybe for the port of St. Thomas, where they have the cruise ship schedules.

Oh terrific...Thank you Anjelica~ I haven't seen any of those movies. :rolleyes1 With grown boys my choices are ESPN or Horror movies.:3dglasses

I'm starting to panic a bit. Making lists and notes everywhere. I hope I don't forget something, but I feel like I have. I think I have way too many clothes and suitcases. :scared1:

Do the 'docs' come by mail or UPS/FedEx??

I am getting sooo excited :yay:

I thought it was just the opposite.
I thought we always docked in St. Thomas and that the St. Maarten decision was based on how many ships were in port.
I guess I will have to call DCL next week and ask so that I can tell my St. Maarten tour guide.
The St. Thomas guide has not asked that question.

I know I need to bring the signed form with me on the cruise, but do I need the actual contract? Also, I noticed the price seems to have gone up, and there are more categories and rooms available!!

Thanks so much for the movie info - BTW - loved Wild Hogs. Very underrated movie. We aren't really into the POTC movies, as they are too gruesome for a 4 yr old girl. Not that she has seen Wild Hogs either though! :rotfl:

I'm not worried about shipping a box down, but don't understand how to get it BACK if need be. How physically do you get it off the ship with everything else? We are leaving the rental car at port so we will have a car there and expect to go to a local UPS/pakmail center to ship it back, but I am wondering how to physically do that with everything else? Does this make sense? :confused3

I just got home and saw the UPS man leaving my neighborhood. I pulled up to my house and got very excited...My Docs have arrived:jumping1:
