09/15/07 Early Check in September 15, 2007 Eastern

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been MIA!
Actually, if getting ready for the trip wasnt crazy enough:upsidedow , we just bought a house!! LOL! We have been moving over the past week and going nuts...and the PC is at my moms house, so I have to drive over to get on the DIS! We are getting our internet hooked up on Saturday:cool1: so I will be back online!!!:cloud9:

You guys have been chatty!!! My aunt and mom worked on our fish extenders last night...but I have yet to see them:scared1: Just kidding!;)

I got my dress for our wedding/vow renewal ceremony :bride: and LOVE it!! Just gotta squeeze my chunky butt in it in time!:rotfl:

I dont have my formal yet though...we are eating in Palo that night, but I still want to dress for formal night....it is nice to get the pics taken that night and feel all snazzy!princess:

Got 2 new swimsuits...they are cute, but not slimming enough if you ask me....aren't there any out there that make you look 20lbs less?!?!:rotfl2:

Okay.....well, enough catching up for me right now...back to packing up stuff! I hate moving....but vacation will be here before we know it, so gotta run!!!:yay:

In one month, I will be getting on the Magic for 2 weeks.:cool1:   :dance3: :yay:

I got tons to do. Today Stephen and I attended our Nana's funeral. Saturday is the funeral of our Aunt's mother. Yep, my cousin's lost both their Grandmothers within 3 days of each other.

I started a pre-trip report. It is located here.

Hope you are all doing well.:wizard:

Sorry to hear about your family...Prayers and PD for you!

So sorry to read this. Prayers for you and your family.

I lost both of my grandmothers within 2 weeks of each other, both unexpectedly too. It was an awful time for our family.

Hi all. I am back from DC. We got home last night. We had a great time, but touring DC in temps around/over 100 each day was hard. The concrete everywhere didn't help.

Someone asked about St. Maarten. We are doing a private tour with Joyce Prince and we have requested that our beach time be spent at Divi also. So we will be there for a couple of hours that day too.

I was thinking about you walking around in the heat there! DH says it was just awful up there this past week, he walks back and forth to the Pentagon.

Of course, I have no sympathy for him. Whatever the temps were there, they were at least 3 or 4 degrees higher here in SC. We hit 106 yesterday.

Yep, it is hot here in NC (Charlotte area) too. When we pulled into the driveway yesterday evening our car said the outside temperature was 107!!!

We enjoyed DC except for the heat. We used the metro every day. Our hotel was only a couple of blocks from McPherson Square station.
We loved The Prime Rib restaurant!!!!! That is where we ate dinner before seeing the show. Seeing Phantom of the Opera at the Kennedy Center was phenomenal!!!!!!! The Holocaust Museum was amazing! We went to the zoo and saw the pandas! Our Capitol tour with our Representative intern was better than the White House tour......believe it or not.
Now I can really focus on cruise planning!!!!! :woohoo:

So glad you had a great time- minus the heat, in my neck of the woods. We live about 30 min (w/good traffic) from DC in Baltimore. :goodvibes

I did notice how close Baltimore is to DC while driving there and studying the map. I told DH that we should go to Baltimore since it is so close. However, we didn't make it there this trip. We will have to do it another time............in cooler weather. ;)

It would be a better trip in the fall, when cooler. The Inner Harbor is very nice, lots of things to do there.

Do we have a count of children in our group? My buddy Stargater is making a fish extender for me, so we would like to bring small gifts for all the kids in our group.

ETA: I just saw on Lisa's website that I should contact Tinkerbell77 regarding the gifts. So, I'll send her a PM.

 I really need to find out how many boys/girls too. I had so much fun buying the gifts for the fish extenders, I kinda went overboard:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

we started getting things together and I'm so ready to get packed. There's just so much to do, I know I'll forget something.

 counting down:banana:

We also got general fish extender gifts and kids stuff. So, we would also like to know the counts.

I have a 5 year old daughter.

I'd like to know the kids count also...I am planning on something for the kids...boys and girls...Thanks! I have 3 girls ages 3, 11, and 8.

I can go through Lisa's webpage tonight and compare the cruise roster to the fish extender list. I will report back my findings.

Well I just did it, I could not wait until tonight. I am also not too busy at work today.

I first looked at the fish extender list and there are only a couple of people with kids doing fish extenders. Myself with a 5 year old daughter, Kamy with 2 boys and Pooh1960 with a 18 year boy. The list for people doing fish extenders is really small only 7 rooms out of 34 total rooms. I know that both my sister and I way over bought. I think I ordered 4 dozen gifts but with only 7 people doing it I will have a lot of items left over.

The totals for all kids on the roster is 10 boys and 20 girls.

I don't think Lisa has had a chance to update the list on the roster. I've sent her information that is not on it, and I know it doesn't have everyone that is on our thread.

I think I will try to go through the thread (over 1500 messages!) and see if I can get a count. We didn't have a fish extender last time, but people still left little gifts for DD on the fish itself. I just don't want to leave any kids out.

I also told her we were doing fish extenders, and she hasnt updated that...probably been very busy! I know I have!
