Happy Wednesday!

Glad things went well for you yesterday Mary. Here's hoping they go just as well today! :wizard:

Last night Becca had a band concert at school. I have to say it was pretty good. They played some very interesting pieces. The only bad thing was that last week for her Show Choir concert they had the Jazz Band play and then last night they played again. Same thing, for the same people. I didn't understand that, but they did good again.

We have finally hit a warm up here. We are to be in the 50's for the rest of the week. :cool1: And that is a great feeling! I just wish it would last, but it is still March and we could still get crappy weather. Keeping my fingers crossed though that it is over. :rolleyes1

Have a great day! :flower3:

Hi everyone!

Mary - I'm so glad to hear that the transition back to work is going well. Your positive attitude really shows and I'm sure it will make your recovery fly by! I hope today is another good day for you and that you sleep soundly tonight.

My Mom stayed with me the last two nights. It was nice having her here. The kids loved it since she played Monopoly with them and went out for ice cream at 9:00pm. But we spent much of the time packing things up from her old house. I swear that is going to be a never-ending job. She left this morning and now I feel like I can get back to real life - at least for a little while.

We have a big weekend coming up and lots to do before-hand. We'll be in Oak Brook (Chicago) Friday through Sunday for a dance competition. We come home Sunday afternoon and then leave Monday for Wisconsin Dells. Courtney's birthday is Tuesday so we are staying up in a condo for two nights with my brother's family and Garandma and Grandpa. We got an awesome rate and it was cheaper than throwing a party! The kids are excited to blow off some steam at the waterpark.

So I better get cracking on that to-do list since I'm gonna be gone so much this next week!

Kelly,

As far as you have to come it is smat to stay in Oak Brook! Goold luck in the dance competition.

How is Cortney's arm?

Are you staying at the Great Wolf Lodge in the Dells? We stayed there when it was called the Black Wolf. I loved it there. I like the lazy river they have and the slides. We are talking of going back this summor for a long weekend.

Glad you enjoyed the time with your mom. Even if some of the time you were packing boxes.

Have a good day.

Flo - I was considering just staying Saturday night for the dance competition, but I've decided to bite the bullet and stay both nights. This particular competition has LOTS of workshops with it. So the kids are dancing from 8:00am - 3:00pm Saturday and then the competition usually goes from 4:00pm until about 1:00am. Its a long day. So starting the day even earlier to drive down seems like a bad idea. :sad2:

They get lots of breaks, but its still a lot of hours. Much of the time is spent supporting other kids from our studio and waiting for awards presentations. Plus they get up Sunday morning for more workshops until about 1:00pm.

Courtney's arm is back to 100%. Turns out there never was a fracture and the ligament healed up nicely. I'm so glad that turned out! I was really worried about it.

Great Wolf Lodge is actually our favorite place in the Dells - and we have stayed at just about all of the big ones. But this time we're staying at Chula Vista. They did a HUGE renovation a few years ago and it is waaaay better than it used to be. We stayed there last year and it was nice. The condo we're in is 1900 square feet so there is plenty of room for everyone. The waterpark is fun, but not quite as good at Great Wolf or Kalahari. We got an amazing deal with a special they were running, so that is why we're going back.

Kelly,

You go were the deal is. I know I would. I have noever stayed at Kalahari. I am not sure that music they play all the time (I am told) I could handle. We have stayed at Chula Vista but that is before the renovation. Since you are going with family I am sure no mater where you stay you are going to have fun.

That is great about Cortney's arm.:thumbsup2 I am sure both of you wer happy.

Have a great time this weekend.

Kelly - sounds like you have a busy weekend planned. Good luck to Courtney on her dance competitions! And I'm glad to hear that her arm was never broke.

We have been up to the Dells before too on Spring Break one year. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and had a blast. There was a ton of my family up there that weekend. Lucky for some that they are going back up this year, only staying at Kalahari this time. That is my sisters favorite. But we are not able to go, :sad1: Maybe next time.

Well, have a great time! :flower3:

Kelly, I am so glad to hear that Courtney is doing well. Hope you have a great weekend.

Mary, I hope your day went well. I know its hard. Soooooo much to do, so little time.

Flo, I was wondering have you had any leads lately.

Thanks Chris.

It's sure to be a busy weekend. All the kids are so excited for it. The parents will be happy when its over though! This is the most time-consuming competition of the season. So once this one is over its all downhill!

It can be a little crazy in the Dells in the summer and during spring break. We try to go off-season as much as possible. Its easier for us since we're so close. It's only about an hour and 45 minutes from us. We had a bad experience at the Wilderness Lodge - so probably won't be back anytime soon...but you never know. Parts of the Kalahari remind me of Animal Kingdom Lodge, so maybe that's why I like it there.

And don't be sad about not going to the Dells. You're going to WDW and on a Disney Cruise!!!!! That is a waaaaaaaaaay better deal!

Ooooooo Flo, I hope that works out.

My Mom witnessed a little bit of the frenzy over the need for jobs today:

She called me from her drive back up north today. She stopped in at a Disney Outlet which is on her way home (in the Dells). She was there right after it opened and she said they were advertising for a job opening. She said it was amazing how many people showed up for ONE job opening. There were more people there for the job than were shopping. They had to set up a queue area for people to wait while the one person was doing the interviews.

I don't remember entry-level retail positions ever having that kind of competition!

Good morning everyone - happy Thursday!

Flo - good luck with the job lead. The right one will come along! pixiedust:

Kelly have fun at the dance competition and up at the Dells. Great Wolf is one of our favorites as well. Haven't been up there for a while.

Good Morning Everyone!

Can't believe the work week is almost over.

Thanks for the good wishs on the lead.

Have a good day.

take care

Mary,

How is the week at work going? I am sure by the time you get home you just want to put your PJ's on and watch TV. Hope it is going well.:wizard:

Take care

Kelly,

I have a question. Wilderness Lodge is not the same as the Great Wolf? I guess what I mean is did they change names? If not I have never heard of the Wilderness Lodge. Witch does not mean much.

have a good day.

Good Thursday Morning!

Flo - Hope something comes through for you soon.

Kelly - I'm not too bummed about not going to the Dells this time. What I'm really bummed about is that the last 3 years we have driven down to Disney for Spring Break and this year we are not since we are going in June. But as of this weekend we can start to book our dining reservations for our trip!     I'm so excited about that! I think we have a plan as to where we want to eat.

So, what are everyone's favorite places to eat while at Disney? Our favorite is Raglan Road at DTD. That is a must do for us. How about you? :flower3:

Work is going good. I haven't been as tired during the day as I thought I would. I've been busy which is good but not so busy I'm stressed. I have been relaxing in the evening.

Well I'm not Kelly but I can answer this. They are two different resorts. Great Wolf (which I think used to be called Black Wolf) is right at the exit. Wilderness is off the same exit but down the road a bit. It is huge and has a hotel and condos. We've never stayed there but it looks nice.

Good Thursday Morning!

Our all time favorite place is Kona Cafe for lunch. We also love Trails End, Spoodles (for breakfast), Captains Galley, LeCellier, and when we really want to splurge Yachtsman's Steakhouse.

Yep, Mary is right. They are two different places. I like Great Wolf a whole lot better than Wilderness Lodge. But both offer indoor waterparks and I imagine you'd have a great time wherever you stayed. Great Wolf also has a condo section now. They added it on a few years ago. We stayed in a three bedroom for Cory's birthday once and it was beautiful!

And you would not recognize Chula Vista since the renovation. It is a completely different place. Its still not my favorite, but they offer some really great deals to get people there. I think they had such a bad reputation and people don't want to go back. I was hesitant at first - but its totally worth it.

Oh! I love making my dining ressies! I've been lucky enough to each at just about every place in WDW. The one tradition we have is going to Le Cellier the first night we get there for dinner. We just love that place. The other favorite is Jiko. We don't make it there every trip....but just about! My kids are little "foodies" and they love the signature restaurants. Jiko is their favorite.
