The bitter cold weather has not reached us yet. But, it is really windy today. We usually get it in January (which is tomorrow - WOW) and February. Where we are in MD we tend to get more ice storms than snow.

For those experiencing the cold weather and snow now, stay warm and cuddle up with someone you love. If you have to go out be safe.

HAPPY 2009 EVERYONE!
From our house to all of you - May you be blessed beyond belief, healthier than you have ever been, surrounded by laughter and love, and enjoy creating many memories with those you hold dear!

Me three :)

And in that same genre, I'd recommend the Valdemar series or the Elemental Masters series(tho it's a bit linear, can't easily jump in the middle) by Mercedes Lackey :)

I love the Valdemar series! I think that I am a few books behind in the Elemental Masters series. I will have to go look at the large pile of unread books.

Why yes! I am surprised that someone recognized it! :dance3: Are you a Pern fan?
My name is Robbie by the way.:thumbsup2

Robbie, my apologies again. The little light in my head went off this morning and I realized I might be able to find your name on our members' website (courtesy of Mark and Mary). Of course, by that time, you'd already replied to my question. And now I'll reply to yours. I've loved the Pern stories for many years.

No apologies necessary! :goodvibes I wouldn't have thought to look at the website either.

I guess that means that I need to spend more time at the website. :)

Now you know why I loved the combination of the meets thread and the website. The thread allows us to get to know each other (like the fact that you have favorite book series in common) and the website allows us to get to know names and faces. Then come September you won't just be sailing with other DVCers you'll be sailing with friends!

For anyone spending a quiet evening at home, especially anyone who hasn't cruise before check out the travel channel. They are doing a night of Disney and it starts with an hour long show on Disney Cruise Line! It is an older show (from 2003) but has been updated in the last year with some of the new things. An oldie but a goodie. It starts at 7 pm Central time and is repeated at 11 pm Central time. Check the listings by you to be sure of the time in your area.

Ok! I just got off the floor from doing my scrapbook for the 2008 cruise. I am getting to old for the floor. I was there for at least 3 hours. I just put the pictures in they way I want them. Now I have to do the rest. But at least it will be done. That makes me happy.

Oh, darn. I was so hoping to try for a pirate: or a :bride: today but we were so busy at work, that we couldn't even breathe!!!! Didn't even get a chance to pull up the internet. We even had to stay late because of all the work that came in. What a bummer. So, congrats Beastly on both of them!!!

Mary, thanks so much for the tip about the travel channel. I have seen this show about DCL many times but I love to watch it again, and again, and again. I get to have my Brent fix that way. I just love his accent! And I saw recently on another post that he has a twin!!! How cool.

Well, we are spending a night at home with the girls and not going anywhere. We had some pizza for supper, DH and girls are playing the Wii and I will be here on the computer. I have found the food porn site and love it!!!!!!! :woohoo:

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am excited! :cool1: After another 2 hours I finished my 2008 Cruise scrapbook. Now I have time to reast before we do the member cruise and i have to start again

Mary, you're so right. It's very cool to see how many folks you have things in common with (and they can be pretty unusual things, too).

Flo, I know what you mean about the floor. I babysit my DGD7mos 3 days a week and we spend a lot of time on the floor (as my mom always said, "Babies can't fall off the floor."). But getting up? Ugh!

It's great that you finished your project. I've never scrapbooked, but am thinking about starting for our cruise.
