Good morning Member Cruisers!
We sail in 37 weeks!

Happy Birthday Karen (ohiominnie)!

:cake::bday::cake::bday::cake:

I'm also sending some pixiedust: to Karen that all goes well with her flight today. She and the kids were supposed to fly home on Friday but those plans got changed by the weather and the airlines.

Supposed to reach 62 degrees today ... The 14 inches of snow we got last week is almost all gone.

...Bruce

Bruce,

We had that yesterday in IL. The snow is gone but today it is 21 as I send this. Now the rivers are hi.

Have a Great day.

:sunny: Good Morning Everyone,

I hope all is well with you.

I just wanted to let you know.....TCM channel (Turner Classic Movies) has a program on right now called "The Age of Believing: The Disney Live Action Classics"
Description: (2008) Film clips and interviews trace the studio's history as it branched out and developed non-animated family fare."

Check it out if you can.

Take care......Monika:daisy:

Mary, Monika, Flo, Dave & Tanya, and Chris: Thank you so much for the birthday wishes :flower3: . DH and DDs treated me like a queen yesterday and I didn't spend a single second on the net!

Karen, :cake: Happy Birthday! Have a great one.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (those who celebrate it). And I hope all are safe!

Joanne,

Sounds like you had a great day. that is the way Birthdays should be.

Well Christmas is officially over at our house. The tree is down and all the decorations are up in the attic.

Tomorrow I go back to work (for two days :)). Next up is filing away all the 2008 receipts and getting things ready for our taxes. What fun.

Mary,

Good for you with the Christmas deco.:) I wish we would have done that. But it did not happen.

While my DS and DH were cleaning out the closet downstairs they discovered my 2006 scrapbook. I thought I had done that already. Suprise!:scared1: So I have the pictures for the 2008 and I am goingto put that one together. Tomorrow I am going to pick up the 2006 ictures that I sent to Target to be printed. I am going to be a busy person.

Have a good evening!

We wanted to do that, but our oldest DGD6 has been in AZ, so we'll be celebrating a "little" Christmas on New Year's Day w/her.

Happy Birthday Joanne and Karen!

Thank you! (It was one of those "big" ones :scared1: and I think DH was afraid I'd be depressed, so he and the girls turned on the royal treatment :rotfl: .)

Happy Monday Everyone!

I can not believe that this week is the last week of 2008.

Have a good one.

Good morning everyone - happy Monday!

Back to work I go!

Can't believe the year is almost over! Seems like just yesterday we were watching 2000 ring in and here we are 9 years later! We weren't even DVC members back then but had been on our first DCL cruise. We joined DVC in January of 2000 and now have 12 DCL cruises under our belt (this years cruise will be #13). What a great ride it has been. Wonder what 2009 has in store for us. :confused3 Here's hoping it is a great year for everyone!

Since it is the last week of the year and since we've had fun with these in the past I thought it would be fun to do another meme...this one for end of year 2008! You don't have to answer all the questions if any make you uncomfortable.

1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

4. Did anyone close to you die?

5. Where did you vacation this year?

6. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

7. What was the best thing you bought?

8. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

9. Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer?

10. What do you wish you’d done more of?

11. What do you wish you’d done less of?

12. What was the best book you read?

13. What kept you sane?

14. How do you celebrate New Years Eve?

15. How do you celebrate New Years Day?

Here are my answers:

1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before? Joined Facebook

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Not really and yes I'll make the same this year (lose weight) :)

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Not someone I'm super close to but one of our Sales Reps at work had a baby girl - she's a real cutie. Also a good friend at work became a Grandma for the first time - another cutie!

4. Did anyone close to you die? A good friend of my Mom's. Since my Mom was an only child I knew all her friends as my "Aunt's". RIP Margie.

5. Where did you vacation this year? A 7 day DCL Eastern cruise with Karen, Mike & the kids...Irish Fest in Milwaukee, WI...a road trip to FL and the 2008 DVC Member Cruise...a weekend getaway to Galena, IL.

6. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Being named #2 on the implementation team for my company's software.

7. What was the best thing you bought? Our VW Tourareg

8. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Our September road trip. It was the first time in the new car, we always love the DVC cruises, and we got to visit our friends Karen & Mike who had just moved to Florida.

9. Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer? a) happier (but I wasn't sad this time last year) b) fatter :( c) poorer - at least as far as our investments :sad1:

10. What do you wish you’d done more of? Exercise

11. What do you wish you’d done less of? Snacked

12. What was the best book you read? Twilight

13. What kept you sane? Writing in my journal

14. How do you celebrate New Years Eve? Really low key at home. If we are lucky we'll make the ball drop in NY. :)

15. How do you celebrate New Years Day? Mass, then watching the Rose parade on TV. Dinner will be surf & turf (Mark gets the lobster while I get the beef). :) This has been tradition in our house for many years.
