Good morning everyone...

Mary good luck with the taxes.:scared:

Chris, so sorry they are making you work today.

I am going to try and make the most of my day, I am meeting MoM later for dinner. All you eat Crab at the casino. Then we are spending the night. You know kind of a girls night out at the casino. I make arrangements so that I don't have to be at work until 10:00 am tomorrow. :surfweb:

So until then I am doing my laundry, and packing my bag:dance3:

Hello everyone. We made it safely back. We left on Saturday (2/14) and spent the night in Florence, SC. If I did not mention we drove down to FL. We arrived home yesterday around 5 p.m. We stopped fo pick up some Chinese food and milk before reaching home. The drive wasn't bad at all. Corey is at work today & I had off. I spent my time unpacking and relaxing. I do love the washer & dryer in the room. I did not come back with a pile of laundry. I am missing my savannah view.

That sounds awesome!! I can't wait to go down at Christmas, we will be staying in a savannah view room from Christmas Eve until New Years.

ENJOY!

Staying at AKV with a savannah view was AWESOME. I loved it and my parents and uncle did too. We saw animals & birds when we woke up and before we went to bed. Plus, it was so peaceful & relaxing after a long day at the parks. I know you will enjoy your time there.

We're back and what a beautiful week we had. We were sooooo lucky. Thanks for all the good wishes on our trip; they must have worked!

It was great meeting Marsha, Corey, cutie Charles and their lovely family. I had to laugh at Marsha's comment about Corey being hard to miss at 6'5" since my DH is 6'4". Although truthfully, there are a LOT of tall men in her family (at 5'2", I felt like I was standing in a hole :rotfl: ). It was pretty funny; I recognized Corey right away and said something like "you must be Corey." He looked at me like "why is this strange woman talking to me??", but Marsha understood immediately. It was terrific getting to meet her and everyone. I'm only sorry we didn't bump into them again. I just hope they have a safe trip home.

Dave, the animals are usually up and active earlier in the day. DH got up before me every day and would go out on the veranda and take pictures of the animals. We had greater kudu, zebras, giraffes, crested cranes, and other animals out in our savanna. It was great watching them while drinking our coffee (which we bring from home, btw; can't drink that coffee Disney serves, blech!). We also are trying to return in early December to see the holiday decorations. We were very surprised how busy it was this week. We haven't waited so long for rides in years, but we enjoyed ourselves anyway.
Happy Valentine's Day!

Thank you, Joanne. We had a safe trip home. It was great meeting you. I was looking out for you & your DH the rest of the week hoping to run into you.

I have to laugh, usually my mom (who is 5'4") is the shorty in the family. It was funny seeing someone shorter than her surrounded by a bunch of tall people. Picture it - Corey is 6'5, his father is 6'6, I am 5'11, my dad is the same height as I. It was funny.

We enjoyed ourselves. I have spent some of the day uploading pictures to my computer and looking at the ones on the Photopasses that we had. Once I get pictures from my mom's camera, Corey's mother's camera and his stepmother's camera, I will be ready to share some with the group. Of course, once I figure out how to post pics on the boards. Now, I am off to do my Wii Fit.

Welcome back Joanne! Do you have any pictures from your trip you can share with us? I always love hearing about others trips.

Thanks, Mary. We did take pictures, although they're pretty boring for the most part (my DH will photograph almost anything!). I'll go through them again and see if there's anything worth sharing. We did the refurbed Spaceship Earth (DGD6 calls it the Epcot Ball and we always refer to it like that :lmao: ) and enjoyed the new touches. When the new part at the end started, it made me laugh so hard I'm sure they heard me all the way to the exit (if you haven't done it, I don't want to spoil it for you, so I won't say any more; you can PM me if you are really interested)!

I'm sorry we didn't get any pics w/Marsha and her family, though.

Just got back from Brooke's contest and she did fairly well. With I+ being the highest and II- the lowest scores. She got two I+, two I and one II-. We were very pleased with her scores. She had a vocal solo, trombone solo and three large group performances. So overall, a good day for her.

Now, time to relax a little before we are off to the surprise party for DH's cousin's family. Should be fun! :dance3:

Congrats to Brooke!

Just checking in for a Sunday morning read of the thread. Can't wait for July and September. But mostly for September. DW and I had so much fun on the Member cruise last year that we can hardly wait for September to get here.

July we will be making the trek to Disney World for the last time for a while with our youngest daughter. She graduates from High School this year and will be attending Indiana University in the fall to begin her college studies to be, at this point at least, a music eduction (teacher).

Oh dont worry DW and I will still be making trips, just as nearly empty nesters. :cool1: We are also making plans for 2012 to go to Hawai'i, hopefully the new DVC resort will be open by then. :confused3

I'll try to post more frequently, but things have been nuts at work. Less people same amount of work load, you know the drill. :headache:

Later!

As fairly new empty nester travelers, I have to tell you, it's a whole new experience. It's different, but fun.

When I make my homemade kind it is with Velveeta, butter, & milk. The kids love it.

We use the same ingredients, but also add a can of condensed tomato soup. It's delicious.

Chris,

It is funny how you meet your DH. I meet mine while he was playing in a band at a lounge (I am showing my age they are called Clubs now) I used to go to.

I like hearing how other couples met; my DH and I met on a blind date set up by my dad and his BIL. We went to Rodney Dangerfield's in NYC and married 8 mos later (that was 35 1/2 yrs ago :scared1: ).

Joanne,

We married 10 months later. We will be married 31 years this October.

Have a good evening.

We also rode Spaceship Earth and everyone in my party was laughing at the end. One of the reasons why I wanted to run into you again was to get a picture. I thought about that after we got on the bus.

Joanne & Marsha -

Welcome back from your trips to WDW. Sounds like you both had a good time. Can't wait to see your pictures! You know, now matter how many times I've seen something, I still love to see it again. So, anything you have will make my day! ;)

This September we will be celebrating our 19th Anniversary  . We dated a year, and lived together for two before we got married. So, we have been together a total of 22 years. Time has gone by so fast. I can't believe it. And I couldn't imagine life without him.

Congrats to you Flo for 31 years and you Joanne for 35 1/2. That is terrific!

Good morning everyone - happy Tuesday!

Joanne & Marsha - sounds like you both had a great time at WDW!

I really liked the new end of Spaceship Earth. Mark had some "fun" with it in our last visit. :lmao:

We celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary this October. We met at a sci-fi convention.

Met with the oncologist last night. I'm going to be doing 12 rounds of chemo over the next 6 months. So sadly we are canceling our May trip. While the doctor said he should be able to do it we both realized I would most likely not be up for a road trip or for being away from home in the middle of this treatment. Chemo won't start for a couple of weeks.

Mary,

Morning!
So sorry to hear you are cancelling your May trip,:grouphug: but you still have the SSM09 this year. Maybe you can do a Christmas at Disney. That would be fun.

At least you have a positive attitude. We will be there with you and Mark through this.

pixiedust: pixiedust: And prayers being sent you way.

Now for some breakfast and some more unpacking. :/

Mary - sorry to hear about you having to cancel your trip in May. :sad1: That is sad. But, getting you better is what counts. And you have the cruise to look forward to in September!

Hello!

I know on the 7 nights that there is a Lobster night. Is there one on the SSMC09? I have not bee on a 4 day since 2004.

Thanks

No Lobster on the Member cruise that I can remember.

Mary - I will keep you and Mark in my prayers and hope for a speedy recovery- we need you well for the Member Cruise.

Just checking in and I will be getting a picture off to the gallery sometime after my travels are done - 3 more trips coming up and then the house renovation - not sure if I posted it here - but we're building a family room/ tv room for all the grands - my Living Room is not big enough for them and all their toys.

Thanks for answer! I was hoping they had it. Oh Well!

Were are the 3 trips to? For fun I hope?

You will have to post before and after pictures of the renovation. We like pictures. Hope all goes well with it.

The grandkids are cute.

Have a good evening.

Good morning everyone - happy Wednesday!

I'm about 1/2 way done with the taxes. Didn't spend as much time on them the last couple of days as I thought, but I think I'll have them finished today.

Called and canceled our May trip yesterday. Sad, but really for the best. We've also canceled our DVC search for Hawaii for 2010. That was more just because we aren't 100% what we want to do in 2010. We may be taking a DCL reunion cruise with some friends who have a daughter getting married on it. These are people we've sailed with in 2004 and 2006.
