09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Now Chris - why would you be shocked that poor little shy me wouldn't like to stand on the corner and hawk hoagies ? ! ? :lmao:

I don't know :confused3. Are you sure it is hoagies your hawking on that corner and not something else? :lmao: I'm sure the boys have a great time with it. Good Luck.

Ditto that from me as well!! I am going to be crushed if I don't get to vacation with you guys again - we really need to stay in touch! As Mary said, she has friends from a 2004 cruise and they are still friends - no reason we all can't do that too!! :lovestruc

I agree! :thumbsup2

Ellen great photo, I usually think I take bad photos, but you got a great one.

I used to make Subs on my second job. I think what used to make them taste so good, was they were wrapped in plastic.

WHAT?!?!?! No Mark or Mary??? How am I to make it.

I am really hoping we can go next year. The girls school is really becoming a conflict here lately. No members only this year because Jhana started 3rd grade (gateway grade here in NC) and now Ahja isn't going to go if we go next year cause she will be starting HS (and it will be her 3rd week of school that week). Then the next year is another gateway grade for Jhana and then she transitions to MS after that. The way I see it Ahja will be out of HS and Jhana in HS before we take another members only after next year. :sad1:

Ah well...guess I better enjoy next year to the fulliest! You will be missed Mary (and Mark) but I know you'll be with us in spirit.

Sad but true. We decided that we're stepping away from the Member Cruises for a while. We were a little underwhelmed by this years cruise. Maybe it is because we've been spoiled by all the others but the guests (with the exception of Ducky) just didn't do much for us. That and the lousy communication. A good friend who used to work suggested I write to Jim Lewis and I just might do that.

I'm sure those of you going next year will have a great time. I also know that when many walked away after the 2006 cruise that I was glad we stayed because to me 2007 had the best guests. Hope that happens to those of you sailing in 2010.

We'll be back on the Wonder in 2010 with two stops at CC in July for the wedding cruise and we'll be again on the Wonder in 2011 for Alaska. Seems our Alaska date isn't very popular as there hasn't been a meets thread started for it yet. Not such a bad thing as I think we're ready to take a break from websites and buttons for a while. :)

What do the boys have a great time with :scared1: Sue, that doesn't sound good for a nice quiet shy girl :lmao:

Mary-I am sure you and Mark will be greatly missed on the Members Cruise next year, I know I will miss cruising with you next year. I think it really makes the cruise more special when you have someone with so much knowledge, that is so willing to share with everyone. That along with the website and buttons, you just do so much. It might be nice to actually just enjoy youselves from the beginning.
I agree we were spoiled by DVC on previous cruises and hopefully they can reach those heights again. I think anyone new going on would still think that is a great cruise.
Hopefully someday we will be cruise mates again!

thanks for sharing your photos, please keep them coming.
It's already been 2 weeks since we left home to start our vacation, and I want to extend the great memories.

Great Photos Ellen & Flo! :thumbsup2

Ellen are you doing a trip report or dining report? I saw you taking notes at Palo for Brunch, so I just was wondering. If so, I'd love to read it.

While part of me hopes you are right part of me doesn't. I'd hate for you to miss really good stuff in 2010. (No pressure..lol). Nah but for real, you will be missed. But I"m sure taking a break from so much planning, websites and buttons is something to look forward to. Just sit back and enjoy both your cruises and the sun. Oh just the thought sounds nice. :goodvibes

Thanks Timika! Don't worry we'll find good stuff in whatever we decide to do. I'm not one for looking only at the negative side. I like finding the good in everything. With this past cruise most of the good things centered around my fellow DISers instead of what DVC had to offer. I also realized when I read you post that I'm not completely off the hook for buttons as I promised the gang on the wedding cruise we would do them. It is a much smaller group though. Right now only 9 regular posters and I know most of them. :)

Hard to believe that two weeks ago we were waking up at Boardwalk and the anticipation of boarding the Wonder for our cruise.

One week ago at this time we were just stating our journey home on the final leg out of Nashville.

Also hard to believe that later this week October starts. Where did the time go? Soon it will be call in time for SSMC10 and I wish all the best to those of you going on it. I know that there are many other trips planned next year as well like the repo cruises and hope those are just as Magical! :wizard:
