09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Thanks for posting the picture, Flo!

I'm so sorry I missed this meet. There are so many of you I didn't get to see on the ship.

What a great group!

Absolutely Flo! I would love that. We'll have to make sure we get together.

Oh my gosh! The kids and I just had such a great time going through all the FE gifts. We dumped everything on a table and took turns taking the things we wanted. We all found our own perfect little treasures to remember the cruise by.

Even my 13 year old son had a blast. At one point he got sick of taking turns, donned an eye patch and pirate earring and declared that he was now a pirate and he was going to pillage. Because, of course, pirates do not take turns. pirate:

Thanks again to everyone. It was a great way to "extend" our cruise my one extra day.

I am so so disappointed. When we got to the BC we realized that we were missing one bag...the one with the clocks in it. And I had stuffed some other things in the bag (it was one of the bags we got on the cruise that was all zipped up into a tiny little flat pouch and then opened into a little duffle/gym bag)..I had my night gown, and some of the FE gifts in it. So we called the DCL and were told that 7 other bags exactly like ours were left with the clocks in them, but these all had name tags..we were STUPID and didn't put our name on ours. So, the nice CM there said she was calling all of the people who left their bags/clocks to see if they picked up someone else's by mistake...so far, no word, and I guess my jammies and my clocks and FE gifts are gone. So sad and wish I had been more on the ball. Of course I blamed DH for the whole mess. LOL

The BEST part of the cruise was meeting you and saying "hi" to familiar faces.
We were to be on second seating, but got switched to first seating when someone cancelled. So we were seated with Mary and Karen...just loved them and we so enjoyed their company and expertise in what to do and see on the member cruise. DH agreed that this was so much better than other cruises because of the Dis friends. Sorry I didn't get to meet the second seating people I was supposed to dine with.

The FE gifts were incredible!!! I had such a difficult time delivering my duckie bags...I had all these duckie bags in hand and everyone who saw me commented and wanted a duckie bag!!! Makayla is with me tonight and having a blast going through everything...especially the tubes with the glow sticks. It was really fun.

Flo thanks for doing the dining arrangements and the FE coordination.

Mary and Mark, what a fabulous job you did organizing everything, and I can't remember who it was that typed up the mini navigator...but WOW.

Sorry I didn't make the group photo pirate night...DH had me running from one activity to the next and all I wanted to do was NAP

Arrived home at 11am this am and went to bed and got up at 8pm..I was so tired.

Disappointed in the "special guests". But the Dis group made the cruise fun.
That was the best part...everyone was so nice and so cordial.

The last night we went with Mary and Karen to watch the skit "if I were not at sea" and it was hysterical...Christian in a ballerina costume dressed like a woman was too much.

This group is wonderful...Ray finally found his room...across from ours!

Thanks everyone....oh, and Flo, I never got to sing you the Flo song, so we will have to try for next year!!

Susan

Susan,

I'm so sorry to hear about your clocks and the rest of your things. I'm sure that was upsetting. Hopefully DCL will be able to track it down for you.

We LOVED the ducky bags. The kids were fighting over which duckies they each got. They were a big hit!

Lots and lots of pixie dust that your bag turns up!

Susan,
Thanks for the duckies, I wonder what you did with all the extra ducks....
it seemed they tried to go home but made them into our room by mistake.
It was funny seeing more ducks every night.

Some of our fellow Dis'ers were putting individual duckies in our FE's! Which made me happy. I love rubber duckies! Mine were all inside the duckie bag.
So, I did get some duckies back, but some got hi jacked by someone who took my bag with the clocks!! Hope my new duckies make it home.

It is 50 degrees here in PA and I am FREEZING...I think my internal thermostat broke in the Bahamas!

DD and her family are on their way to BWV, compliments of me and Bob, and I wish I were going instead...we are home a week and we leave next week for a week in San Francisco. Going to the new WD Family Museum. No photos allowed, but I will let you all know how wonderful it is..I am assuming anything Disney has to be wonderful.

We are still admiring all of the FE gifts...what great stuff. Thanks again everyone.

Guess what..I bought a Mickey Mouse costume in World of Disney at DTD for my DGS, and the CM told me it was the first time they sold a Mickey costume in WDW. I know they always had them in Disney Store, but she said they had just put them out and they are a first. At any rate, it is ADORABLE...with little Mickey gloves attached. I will have to post a pic of him in it.

Susan

Well good morning everyone!

I've pulled up the thread a few times since I've been home, but just haven't been able to post - I guess I was just a little depressed about being home after the cruise. But here I am, still a little tired but getting back into the swing of things in Jersey!

First, Susan, I am soooo sorry to hear about your lost bag and your lost goodies, including the clock! How awful!! Keep calling and maybe they'll come up with it. If not, maybe one of our fellow Dis-ers, who got lots of extras because of the kids, could help you out with the clock at least!
I am really sorry that we didn't get a chance to sit and talk a little - I really wanted to! I don't think I even saw you since the meet on board! I should have just picked up the cabin phone and called you - but definitely next time!

We had such a wonderful time! It was better than any other cruise we had been on by ourselves, except for the one with my DB & DSIL and their kids, and all of our kids. That one was great too! But to be able to walk along the decks and such and say "hi" to people was so neat! It really made it feel comfortable and that "at home" feeling!

Thanks to Mary and Mark for all that you both did to make this such a memorable trip. The buttons were great (and helped me remember the faces I would forget from place to place).

Thanks to Flo for organizing the FE game. Wow, was that fun! This was the first time I ever did that, and I hope that I will get to do it again in the future! It was fun to roam up and down the halls, delivering the gifts! Meeting people in the halls who wanted to know what in the world we were doing was fun too! I only got "caught" once, but its all good, even then I got to have a nice chat!!

We got to have an anniversary drink with Dave & Tanya and Chris & Bob! What a fabulous time we had! I really enjoyed your company, guys, and would vacation with you anytime again!! I hope we have that chance! After all, I think it's my turn to splash Bob in the pool!!

Getting together for the toast to Gary was terrific fun!! I hope you like the photos and video, Gary, because it was a great excuse for all of us to get together again and have a drink and a good time! It was FUN!

Here's to our fellow Sunrise Coffee Club members - all of you know who you are!! What a great way to start our day! We laughed and shared stories, oh yes, and drank coffee (even if it was yucky Nescafe)!! It was certainly a highlight of the cruise for DH and I, and I thank everyone who got up early to join us!

Well, life is returning to normal - DS just called to say soccer practice is over early and I have to go pick him up!! Will try to hop back on again later!

Too funny! I bought the same costume for my DS! I also got him the pumpkin candy collector with the mickey ears! He was winnie the pooh last year and was going to have him be Tigger this year but DH saw the costume and said WE HAVE to get it! So we did. I can't wait!

WOW, same here!!! And we were going to have him be Tigger until we saw that costume...it is too cute on!!

We also realized we left a bag behind. It was our souvenier bag and most of it can be replaced but it had the cruise pins in it. We didn't realize it until we got to the airport. We called and they checked our cabin but nothing was there. We were told it could be in lost and found but won't know until they get back tomorrow. Does anyone know where we could purchase a couple of the member cruise pins they were selling? Those are tough to get. This was our first member cruise and would like to get one. Maybe we will get lucky and they will find the bag with everything but just in case... Thanks.

Well were home and have gotten here, all except I lost a wallet with a couple of charge cards in it. I am very lucky it appears nothing has been charged on them, Hoping someone from DCL finds it and turns it in. I have e-mailed there lost and found. they have not yet replied.

Sorry to hear about the lost goodies. Hope they find those also.

Did you have your name on the bag? Lost and found at DCL was very nice when I called about our things. We didn't have our name on ours, which was really dumb on our part...I saw some of the pins on ebay today for 2009 member cruise. The CM at lost and found said that sometimes it is a couple of days until some people start to unpack everything and realize they have something that belongs to someone else. I am hoping that we get our things back, or that someone says that we can have their clocks. Good luck and I hope your bag shows up.

I heard someone getting on the ship from CC that they lost their DL and their room card...and now you lost your wallet!!! I would be freaking out. Guess my loss of the clocks and some of my FE gifts isn't quite as bad. I would call DCL lost and found directly. Good luck.

Susan

It was in the Disney store bag. We never got it packed. It had the receipt in the bag and all so we're hoping it turns up. Good luck with your clocks. We think the bag got buried behind the curtains and we just forgot about it. It had several other items in there also. Thanks.

Me either! I thought it was ridiculous! they made such a big deal about going to it. I noticed the little children were getting so antsy after about 50 minutes. Our son, Patrick, who is in the wheelchair has a mental age of about 4years old. He was blocked into the disabled viewing area and we couldn't get him out. Poor thing, he was so BORED! We managed to talk to him, so he would be relaxed until the end, but he refused to go to any more "shows like that one!"

:wizard:Just trying to spread a little pixie dust (i.e. candy) around the ship!! :goodvibes

I know what you mean about the "show" (sales pitch) the thing is, we're all members, just give us the info on what the perks are for buying on board (a sheet in our room perhaps), we don't need to be sold, we're already members!! We all "get it!"

We're still at WDW but we leave tomorrow-very sad right now! We spent a week prior to the cruise at Kidani and then we spent the last 3 days at Boardwalk Villas...so we're really in vacation mode...I can't imagine going back to work on Monday .....but it has been a vacation of a lifetime!!!!

Good morning everyone - happy Sunday!

Checking in from TN as we are ready to start our final leg of the road trip. Had great weather until right outside of Atlanta where traffic came to a stand still. Guess the road flooded up ahead. When we finally got to the area we saw lots of debris on the road and a few dead cars on the side. We were lucky we got there after that not during. Spent the night in Franklin and got to see some family which was great.

Hard to believe one short week ago we were at the Boardwalk getting ready to head to the port. On to the next adventure!

Have a safe rest of your trip home Mary!

Have a good trip home Mary!

It is sad to believe that it was only a week ago we were getting ready to go to the port! What an exciting day that was! I soooo wish I could go in reverse and do it all over again! :thumbsup2

Going to church this morning - DS's idea - of course, he only really wants to go today because he bought a small stuffed Pluto for a "friend" there and wants to give it to her today! Then it's a race home to get changed and be at his soccer game by 12:30! :woohoo:

Yup, life is returning to the normal rat-race!!!! :rotfl2:

Dave,
You changed your signature already!! I guess I will too, but I don't have anything planned for a next trip so it will be really plain looking! :)
