I have to take the mother to the hairdressers today, but hope to get my hair done too!

My youngest dd asked me to trim her hair yesterday, now it's quite short! She kept asking for more..it's cute.

My ds needs a haircut too, before the cruise :thumbsup2

Just a quick note to the people I sailed with last year. We had to put my best four-legged buddy Rolo down last Friday. He was 13 years old. He got very ill very fast. We miss him like crazy.

 Gary - saw your post on facebook about this. You are in my thoughts.

Sue I would say it more an overall attitude. I found this place to be a lot nicer and more wiliing to help in the past. Now I find that it is very competitve and about being "special". I don't do special. I am who I am. No better or no worse than anyone else. It isn't a terrible place but it isn't the DIS I found in 2000.

I think I know what you mean although whenever I have asked a question it has been addressed. But I do see some that go by unanswered. I find myself to be very much like you, I think, and hopefully not to sound assuming. I am me, take it or leave it. I was not always this way. I was, and am still to a point, the one who always likes to smooth things out because I don't like conflict. And I worried about things, especially in the future. But when we got the news that our middle son, at age 17, had cancer, that all went right out the window! Now every day is a new and good day, especially after two bouts with it he is clear now 4 1/2 years (knock on wood). I try not to worry about tomorrow because it almost didn't come once and I'm not willing to risk that again. So come hell or high water, I am me, and I do what I need to do for my family as soon as I can whenever they ask and don't wait for the next train, because it might not be there! End of my rant, sorry! ;)

There is a really cool country song that I like - its called "Don't Blink" - it's my new philosophy!

Just to make it clear to everyone. I wasn't talking about this thread, but the DIS as a whole. I've always met some wonderful people through the meets threads. I used to hang out at a number of other places on the DIS including the community board and I just don't care for those places any more. Of course this is only one womans opinion. I've just seen more and more people I know and care about leave the DIS over the years and now I understand more why. With all these people leaving there will always be new ones to come along and that is great for those new people because there is lots of great info to be found here.

Sue - sorry to hear that cancer has touched your family as well. It does make you realize what is and isn't important in life.

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip Of The Day

Two waterproof disposable cameras are better than one! If you are planning any water activities you may have already thought of bringing a disposable waterproof camera. You might want to bring two. This is especially true if you are doing something like parasailing or jet skis. Why two? So you can get two different perspectives.

For example when I went parasailing I took one up with me and gave one to someone on the boat with me. They took pictures of me going up and down and I took pictures while I was up. Together they tell a great story.

Same thing on CC if one parent is in the water with the kids the parent relaxing on land can take pictures as can the parent in the water.

They don't cost that much and the memories you'll have will be priceless

PDFG and all our friends who need it.

He is doing better in school. He is now using his walking feet and inside voice inside the classroom. However, he has picked up this annoying habit of saying "no" to just about everything even when he means yes.

At 15 months, DGD is already on the "no" warpath. And it's so funny that she does exactly the same thing as Charles: she says it even when she means yes.

Just did that on Sunday at home - ah, the box o' color is a wonderful thing! :rotfl2:

I call it my camouflage :rotfl: .

So sorry to hear that. I know how hard that is; we lost our last little girl when she was 15 1/2. I cried for weeks.

OMG, that must have been so hard for you to deal with. I'm really glad he's doing well. Bless you all.

Since we are all talking about documents. I was woundering did any one not get them yet?

If so here is some :wizard:.

I know everyone was very concerned with my washing machine being broken-(I mean, besides this board, facebook, and laundry- what else do I do?!?!?) but I am happy to report that a magic man :wizard: was out here this morning, and it is running better than ever!! Apparently a shock had come out of the place it was held into, which was causing the tub to spin out of control. So, now that it is fixed, I have a quiet washer back, and I no longer have to stand there and hold the door so it stays closed during the spin cycle!! :rotfl: WOW! I should have thought of calling them earlier!! And they didn't charge me an arm and a leg, which was great! The repairs were going to have to come out of our disney moolah!! :scared1:

Have a great day!

I am so sorry. When we had to put our cats down, I cried for weeks. My DH and I can't imagine our little dog having to be put down...he is our family.

Sue, Can't imagine going through what you have gone through. I have had life and death experiences and almost lost my child to drugs. Things are no longer important to me...memories are and I make lots of them. Life is such a gift. My brother was burned to death beyond recognition 10 years ago, and I didn't get the chance to say goodbye and tell him how much I loved him...and so now when I leave people, I say good bye and "it was nice knowing you" People think I am nuts, but it just changed my life.

I have a funny one this time from Nicholas who is 5. His dad jogs and wears a sleeveless shirt when he does. So his mom had one on the other day for the first time in a long time. Nicholas asked, "Hey, are you going jogging?"
"no"...."Is that my dad's shirt?" "no"..."Well where is your beard under your armpits?" Out of the mouths of babes....:rotfl2::lmao:
