Good Morning, my Fellow Cruiser!​

Cruising time is almost here!
But I have a Question:
What happens when we are finished with the cruise???
How will I chat with you all again?​

Since this was my first experience chatting on a thread, and it has all been about this one cruise, how do I keep in touch with anyone? It will be like losing an entire group of friends!!! Help me out here.

Lots of times, people stay on the same thread for a while afterwards, or a new "post cruise" starts. I am still talking to people I went on the repositioning cruise a couple years ago. But they do have a tendency to fade out after a while.

Sue-Sorry to miss your run...LOL I would have joined in but I believe work got in the way again It also appears I missed you this morning, as I was trying to finalize our Christmas at Disney plans. We had a friend of ours decide they would like to go as well and when I called MS they said they were all booked up. I ended up getting them a room at Coronado on points and they made their airline ressies today!! Looks like our kids will all be surprised to wake up Christmas morning at Disney!

Can't remember if this has been asked, but I'm gonna ask - mainly because DH keeps asking me and I'm not sure - but, When do we get our cruise documents? I figured this week or next, right? Please, if you can answer, let me know so I can let DH know. Work for him has been stressful and he needs this trip. Thanks!

I'm confused here. How close is the parking to the terminal?

The parking lot used to be just outside the gate across the street. Now with the construction when you are getting off the ship, you cross the street, go to the left, walk just a little ways past the construction and then enter the parking lot. So it is just a little further south than it was because it used to be straight out, right across the crosswalk.

An extra minute or two walk.

Not much.

Since we are local, I am my own transportation. We'll head to the pier that morning and to AKV afterwards.

I'm just finishing up planning out dining for my birthday weekend in November. 90 day booking window opens this Friday. I think we will do dinner at the Coral Reef and Boatwright's Dining Hall (POR - Riverside) and breakfast at Kona Cafe. Were staying at BLT in a Magic Kingdom View.

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip Of The Day


You don't have to use your KTTW card to lock your safe. The safes in the room lock when your KTTW card is slid through it. Problem is you need the exact same card to open it. If one partner is up at the pool and the other wants to get something out of the safe you are out of luck. Plus if sadly you misplace your KTTW card then you have to call to have someone come and open it up for you.

Here's the tip of the day. You can use any card with a magnetic strip. Like your grocery discount card! Then if you use that you can put it somewhere else in your room where everyone else in your party can get to it if they want to get in the safe. Of course you don't want to just leave it out on top of the safe (since the safe wouldn't be very secure then) but tucked in a drawer out of sight should be fine.



Thanks to Linda for making sure this tip is still a good one. Once dry dock happens the safes will have a key pad to punch in numbers and you won't need a card.

Great tip Mary! That's exactly what I do because I usually de-magnetize my KTTW card at least once or twice during a cruise. I have a secret spot in my stateroom and I used my Rainforest Cafe card. It has a magnetic stripe and works perfectly!

hello everyone. again, i have failed at staying up to date with the board. i apologize. it seems that james (ds) keeps me a bit too busy lately.

anyway, thought i would let you all know that we just found out that we will be taking a little one on the trip with us, however he/she will be traveling in my belly!

We just found out the other week that I am pregnant so we are excited but I also had to cancel our couples massage and no fufu drinks for me I have also filled out all our forms and just need our luggage tags.

We can't wait!

I totally agree Susie. And I totally love it.

All depends on the group. The cruise I went on in 2006 (not a Member Cruise) still is open and we chat every day. A good number of these people I met on a 2004 cruise and we are cruising together next year.

Other times a thread just dies due to lack of interest.

Have you thought about joining Facebook? There are a number of us on there who chat every day.

My only thought is that I am on facebook and don't really get on it that much. Maybe once every week, week and a half to two weeks. I would much rather be on here.

Well, I hope we all stay chatting on here - I have really truly grown to love getting on here and seeing what everyone is up to - not just with the cruise but with the families and all of that. Because we always seem to be busy with little DS and all of his activities and scouts, we have alot of acquaintances but just a few close friends (I know you're there my DBFF)! So this has been alot of fun for me and I hope to stay on with many of you.

I have not done the whole Facebook or MySpace thing yet. Sort of leary of all of that, I guess.

I have printed them out and put them all my cruise "stuff" but we haven't signed them yet. We will probably sign them some time during the drive down.

Well, if I have to admit it...YES.
And believe it our not I am also the Webelos Den Leader for my sons cub scout den. But this is my last year for that and my scouts have gotten most of their requirements completed already towards earning their Arrow of Light. So, most advancements this year will be extras. My son is working to get all 20 badges.
I used to be the lead for several committees and one of the homeroom moms at my sons elementary school. I had to give those up. I enjoyed it but way too much time. I was using all of my vacation time for school activities and then had no time for myself. I will also admit that I got a little annoyed that it was always the same people volunteering their time. That gets very old. I would always here excuses that they did not have time. HELLO?? It is for your children??? If everyone helped out with just one activity it would only require a little bit of time for everyone. So, now I am not the lead but I volunteer to help out as needed.

I started my masters several years ago. I have had to start and stop several times but I am going to get it all completed over the next 12 months. I basically decided to get it done now or I was just not going to finish it. I am tired of it all. So, 1 this summer, 2 in Fall, 1 in Spring, and then the final BIG fieldwork research paper to finish up the program. My understanding is that it can be a couple hundred pages. I told the head of the program I will just be getting right to the point. Not sugar coating anything. He laughed at me. Maybe because I looked like this when he was explaining the final project

So, yes I am a little crazy these days. Actually getting on here and putting all the other stuff aside is very nice. I always enjoy reading through the posts. Clears my head some times.
