What is the proposal?

It's a comedy w/Sandra Bullock, something like she marries her employee to keep him in the US...not sure exactly.

Dole Whips and floats are really yummy if you like vanilla ice cream and pineapple. You can get them at MK by the Swiss Family Robinson or at the Poly.

I may or may not be near a computer this week-end so the Swan/Pirate counts might not be updated until Tuesday night. Have fun posting, my friends! I'll be at my Uncles having a fun Labor Day week-end.

Thanks Gary for the updates. Have a great weekend!!

well, it is about that time. i need to go to bed, it has been a long day. i hope you all sleep well, i will talk to you tomorrow.

No kitchen sink here, cuz we've never been. But would like to someday. :)

Congrats Annemarie and Dianne on the :bride: and pirate:. Way to go.

Annemarie - we are staying at the Polynesian after the cruise.

Dianne - I don't think they have the dole whips on the cruise. At least I have never seen one. But I have never had one of those either. Where do I keep myself while at Disney????? I guess, every where else. :rotfl:
Thanks! We tried to get reservations at Ohana but they were already filled. I have yet to try a Dole Whip. When we were in WDW last year after a cruise and the place was closed. I'll have to add that to my list of things I have to do.

poor baby....

thats the only way I get them!

whats the kitchen sink thing?

Well, we have never gotten one but it is a huge dish that looks like a kitchen sick. It is filled with all kinds of ice cream and toppings. Everyone gets spoons and you all eat it. I do not know if I have ever seen anyone finish it.

I just caught a glimpse at the movie with Sandra Bullock and it looked funny.

The kitchen sink is actually served in a bowl that looks like a sink. They flash their light and then they tell you what's in it. It is one of each flavor of ice cream, toppings and I think they say and a whole can of whipped cream!!! If you have allergies or don't like a certain kind of ice cream or topping they will substitude some thing else. We have never had one but often wonder what is the best way for eat this - maybe everyone has a spoon and dish so they don't have to make someone else in the groop to be ill.JMHO

oh, so my dh could probably do it himself and then i would pay for it since he would be up all night with a belly ache!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

friendlys used to have a crowd pleaser, it was 12 scoops with 6 toppings and whipped cream, dh and friend ate the whole thing. both guys were up all night with belly aches!

Oh my, I think it cost around 25.00. maybe you shouldn't tell him about it.:rotfl::rotfl:

What?? Still no Flo?? Okay Flo did you sleep in today?? You always seem to be the early bird on here.

Thanks for sharing the video.

I was cracking up reading the posts regarding the last pirate: & :bride:.

When I first figured out about the 'lurker'! The original lurker that is... you know who you are....I recall a while back reading through the posts and noticing who was logged on and who was not. (The little green indicator that tells if someone is logged on). Well, there was someone that was green but not posting any messages. Then all of a sudden there he was out of no where jumping in to steal the prize....oh wait maybe it was his wife...busted! I was on to him (them)! Then another time I was on and sure enough he (I mean they) did it again. That was it...he had to be outed. And, that is how he came to be known the LURKER. :charac4:

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

It appears he now has some 'groupies'!! Beware everyone of the lurkers...they seem to be taking over this thread. :lmao:

Oh my goodness! You are too funny!! I NEVER noticed that button changed colors before!! No one is on tonight!!

Really don't know what to do about my illness. So I decided to go to the doctor today. Came to work, and will be leaving early. Too afraid that I will get worse over the weekend and then really be in trouble. I have horrible sinus problems, and get bronchitis easily. My head feels like a basketball right now. So, I know he will give me some potent antibiotics just in case I get worse...flying will always make me worse. And I don't want to infect any of my fellow cruisers, right? So send me some pixie dust please!

Happy Friday...Happy Holiday Weekend.

I can't believe that the cruise is almost here. The time has gone by quickly with this thread and all the great people here!

Blessings,
Susan

Maybe I'll have to add anti-bacterial stuff to your FE gift.... :rolleyes1 Hope you get well soon!! It's just not fair to be sick on vacation!!
Hello Everyone...

DH (Michael) just got off the phone with Disney Cruise Line...

He found out what movies will be playing while we are on board:

G-Force
The Proposal
Up (3D)
The Hannah Montana Movie
Bolt

I do have a question...does anyone know if there is a place on Castaway Cay where we can get our passports stamped?

Take care.....Monika :flower3:

Oh- thanks for calling on the movies. I'd like to see the Proposal, and Up... and I'm sure my daughter will be checking out Hannah Montana!! :rotfl2: maybe my hubby will go with her!

Question for everyone:

Since we are entering our last week before the cruise, when are you leaving for the cruise?

For Sandi and I, we will be starting our drive down on Thursday morning.

We are leaving out of Chicago/Midway next Thursday at noon. We will head over to Downtown Disney for dinner at Rainforest- or T-Rex... Friday will be at the pool during the day- hopefully it will tire out the kids. they will take LONG naps and we will go to Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween party Friday night. CAN'T WAIT!!! Saturday is up for grabs- hopefully Magic Kingdon again. :earboy2: We have to spend time with the Mouse!!

oh bad week, dh works for his dad and he decided to cut his pay by $100.00 per week for no reason and cancel his insurance. i am not a happy camper right now. needless to say, when we get back from this cruise some things will be changing.

Oh my! That's terrible! why would he take your insurance away when your pregnant and have a child? That's mean!! I hope it all works out for you after the cruise.

Ahhh, a lonely Friday night on here! I am all caught up again with the posts. This working all day thing really stinks! :snooty: Well, I actually was watching my friends kids today- so there were five kids running around my house today... my clean house, mind you!! Oh, it's almost as sparkling as it was this morning! Then I had to work tonight... and I am working every day til our trip!! So- good luck to all of the :bride: and pirate: out there... now that you have been busted by the green light! Who knew?! :rotfl:

My DH came home from Disney today. He said it was raining every day... bummer! But just in case- don't forget to pack your ponchos?! Come on now! Everyone has a bright yellow Mickey one, right? :rotfl2:

Good night! I'll check ya'll out tomorrow night!

Hi everyone - I see you were all chatty this evening while I was away from the computer relaxing. :)

Congrats to Annmarie on the :bride:

Congrats to Dianne on the pirate:

what is a dole whip?

At Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and the Dole Plantation in Hawaii pineapple is the flavor of choice. It is served in a cup or in a glass of pineapple juice as a "Dole Whip Float" topped with a maraschino cherry and Polynesian paper umbrella. Its presence at Disneyland is a benefit of Disneyland's long-standing relation with Dole Foods, corporate sponsors of Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. At Walt Disney World, Dole Whip is now available outside of the Magic Kingdom at the Disney's Polynesian Resort.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dole_Whip#cite_note-0

Though a Dole Whip has the taste and consistency of soft-serve ice cream, the dessert actually gets its texture from ordinary food thickeners. The only dairy content is a small amount of the milk derivative sodium caseinate.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dole_Whip#cite_note-1

DH found Dole Whips on the Wonder last year! I love fresh fruit and whenever we walked by DH would make a comment about the fruits and I try some they are excellent. At that point, A light bulb ah ha moment came upon his face and he walked back over to the counter and asked for 3 or 4 pineapple slices and had vanilla ice cream added to the top and mixed it all together!! I did have to give him a :thumbsup2 He wanted a Dole Whip and he made one on own.
