They just updated the article. He jumped!

Reports show the man rescued by a Disney cruise ship this morning had jumped from his original ship as it sailed back to Cape Canaveral.

"The guest was witnessed jumping overboard from a balcony stateroom on the Carnival Sensation which was on the final night of a four-day cruise to the Bahamas," a Carnival Cruise Lines statement shows.

Carnival Cruise Lines did not release the man's name or hometown.

The ship searched for the 34-year-old man and initiated a rescue operation. Carnival Sensation returned to the area where the man was witnessed going overboard -- somewhere near the St. Lucie Inlet.

Carnival authorities called the U.S. Coast Guard which sent out a chopper, a cutter and a small boat to search for the man, Coast Guard Petty Officer Nick Ameen said.

However, the Disney Wonder, which was sailing in the same area at 12:15 a.m. found the man first, about 28 miles east of the St. Lucie Inlet.

"The man had been treading water for about 90 minutes and was very tired," Ameen said. Medical personnel aboard the Disney Wonder checked the man for injuries, but he was in good condition.

Both ships are now moored at Port Canaveral this morning.

The man requested that he be returned to the Carnival Sensation, which departs this afternoon to The Bahamas for a three-day cruise.

That is crazy, why would he want to return when the ship is leaving on another cruise?? I suppose you can't be in your right mind if you jumped anyway.

hi how is everyone doing today

Good Morning Mark, doing good here today.

I was woundering the same thing. Then I thought that maybe he wanted to go get his things or he was doing Back to Back. I even wounder if they will let him back on.

Flo-Good Luck on the job hunt. Can you see the other ship that is in Port Canaveral? The Carnival one?

This was in the Orlando Sentinel:

Preliminary reports show a Walt Disney World cruise ship rescued a man at sea who had fallen from another ship overnight.

According to a report on WFTV-Channel 9, Disney Wonder picked up the man and sailed him to Port Canaveral. The man told authorities this morning he had fallen from another ship that had preceeded the Disney craft.

Wow! Apparently he wasn't holding on very well! Perhaps he was trying the moves from Titanic? I'm king of the world!!

Reports show a Walt Disney World cruise ship rescued a man in the Atlantic Ocean overnight who had fallen from another ship.

The 34-year-old man remains aboard the Disney Wonder at Port Canaveral this morning.

U.S. Coast Guard records show the Disney ship picked up the man near Port St. Lucie sometime after midnight. He had fallen from the Carnival Sensation cruise ship shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday.

It is unclear how the man fell from the cruise ship.

A chopper and two boats from the Coast Guard in Miami had tried to find the man, but the Disney craft spotted him first.

Preliminary reports show the man is in good health and requested to be returned to Carnival Sensation.

At least the people on the Wonder pay attention!! I can't imagine that guy being easy to see in the middle of the night. and why would he want to back to Carnival when he fell out??? I'd request to stay on Disney!

Crazy news about the guy who went overbroad off the Carnival ship and the Wonder rescued him!! And no, I won't say I don't believe it or know how it could happen because it is so typical of what the Carnival line is promoting right now. Didn't anyone see the TV show Cruise Line Inc. where they flatly stated that all of their profits are made from the sales of the liquor and that their bartenders have quotas to make on how much they sell!! So yeah, I can see someone continually being served drinks when they are obviously intoxicated, and then not knowing where they are or what they are doing!!! :sad2:

I did see that- that's basically where they make all of their money- liquor and excursions. It was a very interesting show to watch.

wow! I'm going through withdrawal from this board! I wasn't on at all yesterday- too busy!! But I did get a lot accomplished! I did get almost my whole house clean!! Steamed floors, shampoo'd carpets, cleaned bathrooms, cleared off my table (see- miracles CAN happen)!! Now, I just have laundry left, and I will have a clean house to come home to! As long as my kids don't destroy it this week!!

Ia slo took my kids to get their hair done- my daughter gets hers relaxed because it is soooo kinky, curly... and my son got his hair cut by a professional (usually I do it) but it is EVEN for pictures from vacation!! :rotfl:

I also got some grocery shopping done, and my car cleaned out. Whew! I was tooo tired to check the board last night when I got home from work!!

I did catch up on all of the posts though, so I'm not out of the loop anymore!! :yay:

Today is DD's Meet-n-Greet with her third grade teacher. gotta get ready for that soon- and ready with my explanation as to why she's missing almost the first six days of school :rolleyes1. Well, duh?! It's Disney time!!!

Not as well as I would have hoped for packing... I keep thinking of things that I need, and then have to find missing pieces to outfits etc. My kids are almost completely packed. My daughter is done, and my boys are almost done. When I get through the laundry, they should be able to be finished pretty quickly.

Me, on the other hand... I have not packed anything for myself. I did fill the little bottles with shampoos etc, but that's as far as I got for my stuff!:rotfl2:

And I just saw my schedule at work. I literally work every single day until the cruise except today- so I'm hoping I can get a lot of that stuff finished/started tonight.

Oh, and I need to make my FE gifts! AHHHHHH! SHould I be panicking??? :lmao: Maybe I need a margarita to go with those fajitas!
