Where is the food better at CC? On the adult beach or the family beach?
The two times I went to the adult beach, it is so rocky in the water...so I think I will try the family beach this time. I nearly killed myself trying to walk with my old knees...wonder how the $50,000 ones will work for me!!

I like them both. Yum! Soon.

that reminds me too much of the scene from Jaws!

Yea, it does!! :lmao:That cracked me up!! Can't you just see this big shark biting a hole in the banand and off I go and never seen again...YIKES

I'm really liking this Susan squared thing! Yea for us!

Sue, you are the BOMB...I am the BOMBEE...LOL...I crack myself up..
We have hit it twice together now, Sue...WOO HOO

We will never catch up though, unless we type on each page, BUMP for hundreds of pages, and I think we will get kicked off the boards if we do that...:lmao:

Catch up - not a chance! But we can sure have fun for the next 9 weeks seeing how many times we might be able to do the "Susan Squared" !! :rotfl:

Susan, you have to remember that stuff happens. All the time. The other day DGD1 was here. I walked into the kitchen, turned around quickly to go back into the dining room, and bam, hit my poor baby in the head w/my knee. I didn't hear her and I had no idea she was right behind me. Talk about feeling lousy! So yeah, stuff happens. The bad is when we don't learn from it. So now we'll lock the doors and look when we turn around. :thumbsup2

These little ones get faster and faster...Makayla snuck into my mom's bathroom (her great grandma) in the dark when I took her there to visit, and thought she was spraying her curly hair with water...it was fantastik bathroom cleaner....we spent the night in the ER flushing out her eyes...and one day she went into my bathroom and said she had to go potty...a few minutes later I heard this blood curdling scream...she had gotten into my shower, took my razor and tried to shave her arm and cut it....and the other week, she was in the kids' room with the door shut supposedly watching sponge bob and coloring...she came into my room with a big curl of blonde hair in her hand and proudly announced..."Look"...thank God she only cut one curl and it all blended in....who knows what will happen next?

I fell in the street one time with Nicholas when he was 18 month...DH went to get the car...we were babysitting and at the mall...and Nick ran out to the car, pulled away from me and I went to grab him, he cut in front of me and I tripped and fell in the street and he fell too....I don't know, I just don't remember this happening when I was a mom...

We have to set a goal...like hitting the one where you get 3 at one time..WOW...ok, that's too lofty a goal...:rotfl2: let's just try to do the Susan Squared thing...LOL

:cheer2:Sue, Too much work for me. I will see you, DH, DS, DBFF at beach when you are done. have Fun!!!! Kathy

Hi Ginny - Welcome aboard! :welcome::sail:

Susan - Life is precious and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Susan - ... at least Cameron was smart enough to ring the bell!

I did something similar when I was almost 3! My mother always said stay on the front porch and NEVER cross the street. About 15 minutes went by and my mother started calling my name but I wasn't answering. She ran back into the house and called the police. (I lived 5 houses from the beach so she really freaked out.)

The police found me sitting on some woman's porch just talking away! By the time I got home with the police, my mother asked me why I didn't stay on the porch and my comment back to her and the policeman was, "I didn't cross the street!" Needless to say my mother would tell me to stay on the porch and not walking around the block!

Chris- My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. There never is a good time when something happens. As one of my friends always tells me is there is a reason for everything!

Mary- Glad to read that things are going better and thanks as always for keeping this up with the number of months and I can't believe we are now in single digits! Pixie dust and prayer will get you through this!:grouphug:

I'll try to post about what's going on with me. After meeting with at least 4 doctors/surgeons today my stress level went off the charts and my blood pressure wasn't much betters. DH added that we will be going on a cruise in September and the surgeon was looking at the calendar and then asked if we took out the insurance and I said I can't recall. He than said either the first phase will be done within the next two weeks and the next one will probably be done after the cruise. He said he was concerned with germs, infections, etc.

Good morning everyone - happy Tuesday!

So, now I lock all the doors when they are in the house...

I am a bad grandma.

:guilty:
Susan

Susan - you are not a bad grandma! Thank goodness he had the good sense to ring the bell instead of going out further. So I think you and his parents are doing a great job. Still I know it must have scared you.

Did anyone see my question yesterday - has anyone been to the new restaurant in the Contemporary called the Wave?

We've never been and I see Bruce has helped you. Our friend Shontell at DVC by Resale recently posted a youtube video of the Wave you might enjoy. http://www.new.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=101213068608&h=OSw5S&u=MIXO8&ref=mf

Welcome!

Good for you Mary! :yay: Prayer works.

Prayer does work. Thank you to you and to all to all have kept me in your thoughts and prayers. When I'm done with this round I'll be 3/4's done!

Another question - has anyone ever done the kayak and hiking excursion on CC? and if so what did you think of it?

Sorry I've never done that one. Always afraid I'd flip the kayak. :) I have heard the teen wild side is good as we've had some friends kids do it.

I always wanted to do the banana boat, but too scared I will drown!!!

In 2006 I organized banana boats for the DIS group. We had one boat for the ladies and one for the men. I ended up backing out due to some back problems I had. With the change DVC made in getting us out on the island early I didn't even get to see them run as our snorkel excursion that was supposed to go out at 8 didn't get out until closer to 11 and the boats were at 11:30 I think. I know the ladies all loved it because they agreed with the driver they wanted a fun but not wild ride. The guys being guys had a much harder ride and I know a few of them landed in the water. :)

We've eaten at both and I actually prefer cookies by the family beach. Just a reminder that the adult beach is probably going to be more crowded than on a regular DCL cruise since so many adults are traveling without their children.

I'd really really like another pirate!

Congrats Susie on the :bride:

Congrats Sue on the pirate:

:cheer2:Sue, Too much work for me. I will see you, DH, DS, DBFF at beach when you are done. have Fun!!!! Kathy

Welcome Kathy! I take it you are Susieq's SIL. Now that you've signed up I hope you stay and get to know us and us get to know you. The :bride: and pirate:'s are fun but there is plenty of fun and info in the other 98 posts in between.

Annmarie - sorry to hear that your stress and blood pressure are so high. I hope you can still make it on the cruise. Ask your doctor if there is anything special you can do to keep those germs away. Maybe wear a mask on the plane and of course the hand sanitizer near by at all times.

Yes AKV is the only DVC with concierge and it only has 5-10 rooms (5 2 bedroom lockoffs). Concierge level gives you access to the concierge lounge with has a continental breakfast, snacks during the day, hors d'ourves in the evening and dessert at night.

Concierge level has been at the deluxe hotels. There is a floor dedicated to concierge level guests, with special access to that floor only by those staying there. The concierge is costly...we did this at AKL prior to it becoming part of DVC. You are met at the door by the concierge staff, you have a special check in area, where you don't have to wait. There are beverages available all day long in the lounge. The concierge staff is there to make your dreams and wishes come true to the best of their ability. It is a relaxing atmosphere in the lounge. There is breakfast served, including juices, coffee, oatmeal, dry cereal, danish, bagels, fruit, and some other nice things. AKL has a cappacino machine available all day long...self serve. There are snacks out during the day and evening, and then there are horderves (can't spell) from the restaurants served in the evening...some are great, some not so great, and all kinds of imported beer, wine and liquors. It is really very nice. When we stayed there, we asked if the concierge staff could arrange for DH to be the Veteran of the Day in MK...the VOD is honored during the flag ceremony every day at 5pm when the flag is taken down...and DH did get to do this...he was so honored and it was so memorable for us. They will get you reservations at events and restaurants that have no availability, or do have availability...and they are just nice people. Our staff was mostly college kids, or kids who had graduated hoping to get into other positions in WDW. Our personal concierge person selected gifts for us...a wooden giraffe and a Mickey in safari gear, AKL pen set in a nice case, and he also took us to see the suites at the AKL where the celebs stay...really nice person. When we check out, there is a gift waiting for you of bottled water in a bag with a nice note. Each night your bed is turned down and there are chocolates and a little African proverb on your bed.

I would love to stay at AKV on points in the concierge...when paying cash it is really pricey...we did it once when my uncle treated us to a vacation, but it was a once and done dream...that's it.

The GF, Poly, BC, BW, YC, CR, and WL all have concierge level rooms.
Hope that answered your question...when you stay at the AKL in concierge, you can sign up and pay for the early morning sunrise safari, which we did. I think it was $65 or a little more per person. We were taken by a private bus through employee entrance to AK, and went on the safari...a slow trip prior to park opening. We stopped along the way to take pictures of all the animals and the tour guide gave us all kinds of information you don't get when you ride the regular safari. It was wonderful. And then we had a huge buffet breakfast inside a private room at one of the restaurants in AK.

The first weekend in May we did the Concierge Level at the Grand Californian. We got the same treatment. It was wonderful. Used DVC points for the stay. I was wonderfully surprised that after I went through the gate, the security officer must have radioed the front, because when I pulled up in my car, there was a concierge cast member who welcomed us and then personally took us right up to the concierge level.

We were spoiled for the weekend, however, not something we would probably do very often, due to the number of points we used!

Loved it though......
