mary, thanks for updating me on palo. good thoughts are with you. busy here getting ready for vacation next week with the little one and my parents. we go to hampton beach nh every year. it is really nice but COLD water. I will not go in the ocean until I get to castaway cay in september!

I usually keep many lists on Excel , One for each bag packed. And I print 3 lists, one to carry, one to pack in the suit case, and one for a check off sheet while packing. Another for ADRs, another for flights and confirmation numbers

I am usually very organized, cause we never traveled very much before, just the last 10 years, But since we are not new to cruising, and it will be only the two of us, I think I am going to be a little more wing it this time.

And just roll with the fun:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Good morning everyone! Happy Thursday!

Congrats to Flo on the :bride:

Congrats to Ray on the pirate:

How do you prepare for your trip/cruise?

I'm definitely a spreadsheet person.
On the first tab I do a grid that has each day listed and then I fill it out with flight info, hotel info, any ADR's we have, and for a cruise what the port is that day. I also list what clothes we'll be wearing that day (much more for the cruise than a land trip).

The second tab then lists all the clothes and other things that need to be packed and which suitcase they are going in. This is especially helpful for a driving trip since we do a small suitcase that just has clothes for the road trip in it.

The third tab then lists everything that needs to go into the car. Each suitcase, cooler, snack bag, etc.

This has really worked well for us.

Another thing I do for road trips is a trip book. Even though we've driven that way before we print out new maps including close up ones of where we are staying. I put all the hotel confirmations in here as well and lists of Sonic's and Chick fil A's on the route. I've done this for our last 4-5 road trips. We don't often use the maps but they are there if we need it.

Last, but not least, I carry a small notebook to make notes in. When we stop at a gas station we'll mark down if it is a good one to stop at again or a bad one to avoid in the future.

Having said all that when it comes to park time we wing it and just go with the flow. We make a few ADR's but don't map out our entire day. We usually do a park in the morning, back at the villa in the afternoon, and then back to another park in the evening.

Good Morning.

Been busy with Brooke's softball games this week. Have one this morning at 10:00 as long as the rains last night didn't make a muddy mess out of the fields.

For planning for our trips at the parks, we have a spreadsheet that lists all the park hours, where EMH are, where our ADR's are at with the confirmation #, and what kinds of snacks we would like to try. We also have an expandable folder that we use for both at Disney and cruises, with tabs for resorts/hotels, flights, passports, rental car, boarding passes (for cruise), etc. That way when we get to say the airport we can just pull out the flight information and nothing else and put it all back in its proper place so nothing gets lost or we can't find it. I have found this folder to be very useful. Need maps, boom map tab and you have them. Rental car information, here ya go.

As for packing, my DH starts at least a month and a half before our trip. He puts everything he has packed on a spreadsheet so he can see what is in the suitcase and what he still needs to pack. As for me, the week before we leave I start packing. I'm in no big hurry, cuz if I pack to far out I will just have to unpack to make sure I have what I need. Even putting it on a spreadsheet doesn't help me, I still unpack everything to make sure I have it. :confused3.

Well, gotta get to work. Have a great day! :flower3:

Oh, yeah, Congrats Flo and Ray on the :bride: and pirate:

Oh, and one more thing that I found was great for our last trip.

I use the calendar on my phone on a regular basis to organize all of our activities. That is the one thing I always have with me these days.

We have had a few (just a few) issues over the years with ADRs. I would always have a print out of our confirm #s so things got resolved. No big deal.

So, last year I made sure I added all of our ADRs and any other confirm #s on my phone calendar. It was great! So all the details were with me all the time.

This may not be necessary for the cruise but you might find it helpful for those staying at WDW before and after.

Have a great night!!

Heading to Walmart shortly to pick up a few things for the big cub scout camping trip. We leave Saturday.

Looks like we might have a rainy camping adventure. Last year it was dry all 5 days. I do not think we will be so lucky this year. Packing extra clothes just in case. I also have a feeling the evenings will be cooler than last year.

Hi there.
have a question for you. Our family has been involved with scouts for a long, long time. First, good luck and have fun at camp. Camp is Great! Can I ask you about where in Jersey are you?

Hello my fellow SSM09 Cruisers!

Below is the list of people that are participating in the Fish Extender exchange so far.

If you sent me and e mail or PM and do not see your name please re send. I do not have it, sorry.

Also, everyone has two in the room except were I have it listed.
If you need the information on what the Fish Extender is all about or would like to know who to notify if you would like to par take, please see the first post on the first page of this thread.
The ones that have ** in front of them have one adult in the room. The ones that have *** have 3 adults in the room.

So far there are 30 cabins.

Please keep in mind the cut off to participate in the Fish Extender exchange is August 11, 2009. This way it gives everyone time to get there items.
If any one would like a list with room numbers and such before the SSM09 send me an e mail (girlwolf@excite.com) or PM me your e mail address and after the cut off I will send you the spreadsheet.

Hello everyone!! 3 months!!!!!!

Quick question.

We are flying out Sat after we disembark. What time would be a "start off" time to book a flight out of MCO? We don't want to be late but we also don't want to sit around all day either.

Thank you!

Nicole

The last couple of times I have gotten off the Wonder, they have started disembarking a little after 7 a.m. I would personally say don't book anything out any earlier than 11 a.m.

I believe we disembark on Thursday, hopefully that doesn't mess up any plans. If you mean Thursday we are flying out as well at 1pm.

If you look at the edit at the bottom of wispy's post it says wrong forum so I'm thinking they are from a different cruise group here on the meets forum.

I've never planned a vacation using spreadsheets. I would be interested in seeing what one looks like. It seems that some people really have detailed ones.

Salem County - Right at the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

Webelos camp we are attending is at Pine Hill Scout Reservation in Berlin.

I agree. Would like to see someone elses. Especially the dining one.

Happy to PM mine to whomever.... If you look at 3 different people's, you'll probably have a pretty good idea of how to blend formats into something that will work for you.

Morning!

Happy Friday!

Have a good one.

take care
