09/08/07 Early Check in September 8, 2007 Western

I start packing for the next vacation as I unpack from the current one. I have a number of items I only use on vacation. All those items go into my Disney file drawer. Then as the time gets closer I begin to buy my hygiene items and they go into the drawer. About two weeks before we leave the suitcases come out and I begin to iron, fold and pack the suitcases. I pack and repack over and over again. Alway checking to make sure I don't leave anything behind. I think it is really funny the way we all handle things so differently put most of us get what needs to be done, done.

If you want everyone to know what excursions you have booked, PM them to me next week and I will post them on the roster. Please check it from time to time to assure I have it correct. I have these senior moments that at times I find really scary. My memory is not what it once way. I find if I don't write it down I don't remember it. I will make sure it gets done and done right. I just need all of you to prompt me repeatly to keep my memory working. My best to each of you.

I can't wait!!!!!!!!! We only have 12 weeks before our vacation.

o.k. so we have the transportation all worked out. WOW was that ridiculous. So we will now be using FLTOURS. They were very helpful, and now because they will be picking us up when we say we are planning to leave wilderness lodge earlier than if we took the dcl bus. I want to arrive at the port before or by 12noon so we can eat lunch. So I still have to plan for them to pick us up when we arrive back at port when the cruise is over on the 15th. DOes anyone know what time they have Catagory 6 on deck 6 disembark on the last day?

They don't disembark in that fashion. When you are ready to leave you get in line and leave the ship. No one can get off until we clear customs. There is no set way to say when you will be able to leave the ship. Maybe someone who has arranged transportation in this fashion can give you some ides of what time it may be best to schedule a pick up at the port. Also the company may know a good times as well. Some of it will depend on if you are catching a plane and when it leaves.

Anyone else got any ideas to pass on. I'm real glad you got this worked out. Lois

Thank you Lois for the info. Also we are not able to book excurssions until June 25, so as soon as I do I will get the info to you to add to the roster. Thank you again. Have a great day everyone!

I can't book my sisters excrusion until then either. I was hoping that I could get her in because she is cruising with us but they won't let me. Bummer.

Now the family is starting to get excited!:) I've been excited and planning for a year!:lmao:
Have a fantastic weekend everybody!!!

Ok A DL Trip Report!

Finding Nemo...

The subs have been all spruced up in yellow and blue. If they add orange it would look like my OC-2 !:rotfl: But their's is Much Larger!!! A bit bigger seats and now they run electric, not stinky fule.
There are not too many animatronic creatures on the ride. The "new" stuff deals with underwater movie screens! Many small to very large screens show the "story" as you travle thur the ocean looking for Nemo. It's a great 3-d effect. 3 or 4 cavern views with 3 or 4 movies fitting in to tell the story.
Dont forget the friendly seagulls... they sit atop a buoy and yell..."Mine..mine...mine":rotfl2: I sat in my seat with my face plastered in the porthole just like one of the kids. Well I screamed and giggled like one!:lmao: Too bad we could only go on the ride once!

Tom Sawyer's Island is revamped to now "Priates Lair". Very interactive island more then before. A cute priate show with Capt.Jack. It's a gotta see the new island.

And the monorail is fully working!

I'll try to post some pics very soon!

How KEWL!

We are just back from my birthday celebration dinner at the Melting Pot in Birmingham, Alabama. It was WONDERFUL. We have been once before but this time we were among close friends and the night couldn't have been better. My birthday is actually tomorrow but we are just going to veg and get some things done around the house. And as soon as I figure out this new photo program on the computer I will post a few pics of the new truck and tonights melting pot pics. Kevin had roses on the table when we got there    How sweet.........
Have a good night everyone! Tomorrow we'll see if we all got what we wanted.........

Happy early Birthday!

I've always wanted to eat at a Melting Pot. We've eaten at "Dante's Down the Hatch" twice. It's also fondue. The restaurant is pretty expensive (in my book), but the food was really great and the atmosphere is very cool.

Is anybody else waiting for the cruise line website to open for booking?

Ginny

Ginny,
Melting Pot is SPENDY. As I said we have only been once before this time. It's definitely a special occasion kind of place. The service there is great and the atmosphere was so fun tonight.
As for waiting on the lines to open, I have a wonderful travel agent who is getting up at 3am to book our stuff. :dance3: I don't think anyone is going to have a problem getting what they want though. September is usually a slow time and the ship tends no tto fill up. I'm going to turn in now, Its official: I'm OLD! ;) :goodvibes
Thanks for the b'day wishes. :cutie:

I know what you mean about spendy.... Dante's was like that too!!

Andy has a great travel agent too.... me. ;) I don't mind staying up -- I'm surfing the Disney Semi-Annual sale.

Sleep well!
Ginny

Hello All, well, the DCL website is now available for CC Members to make their ressies for our cruise ... we have them for dinner on Tuesday 8:30pm at Palo and Brunch on Thursday at 10:30am .... had to stay up until 3:00am before the site was available, but well worth the wait .... now all you other CC Members go make your ressies!! :thumbsup2

Morning! My DP was kind enough to get up at 3am to book our Palo ressies! We got everything we wanted on the nights and times we wanted! Palo Brunch (Sunday), Palo Dinner (Wed.) and Palo Tea (Thurs). Yay!

I also booked the Island Tour and Stingray Snorkel for 9:15 am on Grand Cayman day. I could only book that for the 2 of us not DP's parents. Guess I'll have to wait for 75 days for them.

But I'm pretty much done which is good, all the other excursions I have planned I am not booking through Disney.

Good luck all!

stina :wave2:

We haven't decided on any excursions...yet.

In KW, we'll probably walk around and grab a cheeseburger and a beer (or a frothy frozen drink)...can't forget to buy some sandals. My mom wants a pair of Kino's too...she keeps hoping I'll forget mine, so she can claim 'em. In the past, we did one of the trolley tours.

In Grand Cayman, we've done the stingray city and I've been to Hell (rock formation on the island, where you can get mail postmarked from "Hell"... which, would be great for bills). So, we may just do a little shopping.

A few years ago we did the kayaking excursion in Cozumel. The cooking excursion in Mexico sounds cool...but I'd love to know a little more about it.

Andy booked a Palo dinner and brunch. We've done the Tea once, but neither of us are big tea drinkers, so we'll probably skip that.

As far as the spa goes... I may wait to see what specials they have.

Ginny :cutie:

We have the res..for excrs and Palo brunch. missed on dinner possible.. I am looking for Hi Tea fo the next few months... for Thursday. and a Massage for her on Thursday... recover form Tulum..
ANOTHER STEP CLOSER TO TRIP and you all..... :cool1:

I managed to book my ressies this morning (around 7:30, I'm not enough of an early bird to get up at 3am). We are doing Palo on Thursday night, the Island Tour in Grand Cayman, and I got all of the nursery times I wanted.

Hi All...

Was on line at midnight and after all the ressies were made the web site went down! LOST EVERYTHING!!!:headache: :scared: :headache:
I went back this morning and had to have DCL book it all again!
KW: White KnuckelThrill Boat
Sea Day: Palo Brunch at 11
GC: Shipwreck and Snorkle
Coz: Jungle Bike(for DSIL and DD) us... nothing at this moment
CC... A beach chair, an underwater camera and my snorkle gear!

Hope everyone reserved what they wanted.

Happy B-Day PIT!!!

The Other Ann:3dglasses

Thanks to my travelling companions, they got us Palo dinner (Monday) & brunch (Thursday).
This AM I booked:
GC - Island tour and butterfly farm - afternoon tour (both of us)
Cozumel - Tulum Ruins (both of us)
CC - float rental for one

You'll love Tulum!
I cried seeing the temples. They have a great meaning to me.

I did a cheap trick... I bought several plastic inner tubes at Wally-World and Im bringing the with me. DD is not a good swimmer so I decited to rig her up something to take her out on Serenity Bay. You wont be missing her... the floties are lime(Dis Green) hot pink.:lmao:

So happy you got what you planned for!
