09/08/07 Early Check in September 8, 2007 Western

So what are your favorite spots in Cozumel? Last cruise we went to Carlos & Charlie's which is everything you think of when imagine people getting drunk and ridiculous in Mexico! It was fun, but my dog bowl-sized margarita wasn't nearly as good as the one I got at Sloppy Joe's in Key West which is hands down the best margarita anywhere. I'm trying to convince my partner we should do a Key West pub crawl: Turtle Crawl, Margaritaville, Irish Kevin's and Sloppy Joe's!

Have any of you rented jetskis on Castaway Cay? Last time I did the banana boat ride. It was fun but I'm not sure I'd do it again, it was soooo hot sitting out on the water on a yellow banana. I felt like bananas flambe.

It has been a couple of years since we have been to Cozumel, the last cruise took us to Costa Maya because of a hurricane.....we usually scuba dive in Cozumel. We have a 6 year old that will be on board, so we have to stay some what sober :guilty: :guilty: We rented an electric car last time we were in Key West and just drove around the town, I don't know if we will do that again, we usually play it by ear.

As for the jet ski's on Castaway Cay, you can only rent them if your doing the eco tour. My son and I tried to rent one last cruise and they would not let us. :confused3

I am spending Christmas in Arizona. Got the call last Thursday that my Brother-in -law was expected to pass. I left to drive out Saturday morning and he did pass Monday at about 9:25AM. This is got to be the hardest time of year to deal with a loss like this. My sister is doing well but has spells of sorrow. The hardest part for me is that they have twin girls who will turn 9 years old on 12/26 and they just lost their father. We are trying to keep things as normal as possible.

On the positive side my sister loves Disney as much as I do. She thinks she would like to cruise with us next September. We will make the reservations soon. When it is confirmed we will post.

Hope everyone has a good Holiday season. Til next time Lois

Our prayers will be with you....

Lois, we have you and your family in our prayers. God bless you and safe travels.

Hi everyone :sunny: . I'm Lois' sister. I am going with her and my twins (DD age 9) on this cruise  . Tell me what I can expect and what might be fun for myself and my daughters :dance3: . Any other young ladies in the same age group as my girls? Looking forward to my very first cruise. We have been mostly Westcoast Disney folk in the past.

Thank you for the welcome. Once my sister leave I will most likely do more reading than posting but I wanted to know what was going on. Since this will be my first cruise I want to be able to make the most of it.

Hi... Dh and I had to cancell our (paid off) Med cruise... due to weird work (we're artists), so we will be joining you all.
We're booked as a triple play back to back to back! I dont know if we'll keep it ... but I dont know... we have time.

So we will be joining you! :dance3:

Welcome Twin Princesses, I'm so sorry for your loss. This cruise will be something joyful for you and girls to look forward to and we are glad to have you among us! I don't have kids but I can tell you there are so many fun things to do on the ship and I'm sure the crew on this thread will be able to double that fun! There's a movie theater on board and 3 pools (one is adult only), so much entertainment that is absolutely top-notch broadway quality. The comedians they hire are hilarious and cater to all age groups. Last time I was on I saw this guy with a "teenager" puppet named Romeo. He was so so funny. And of course there are characters! Mickey, Minnie & the gang complete with sailor suits! Also lots of special events like the Sail Away Party, Pirates IN the Caribbean night (bring your pirate-wear!), formal night, Captain's Gala, Until We Meet Again Party. Yeah, pretty much non-stop parties! Then of course there is the fabulously talented and devoted staff from dining to entertainment. These cast members go out of their way to help each guest have a great vacation. The food is excellent and Disney is very flexible with the menu, you can request items not listed and swap dishes or have more than one entree if you like and of course room service is 24/7 and there is unlimited soda, fast food and snacks by the pool. And that's just what you do on the ship! Ports are fun too! Definitely try the Stingray City snorkel encouter at Grand Cayman, it was really really amazing. I loved it. Stingrays are so sweet and peaceful, like cats they just come up and rub on you. It's adorable. And it's safely led by very expert instructors. Definitely worth the money. So you have alot to look forward to!

Welcome to Bareacuda as well! Sounds like you're a veteran cruiser. Well if you had to trade in your Mediterranean cruise for our Caribbean cruise hopefully we'll make up for your loss in sheer personality! The sailors on this thread sound like people who really like to have FUN!!! :woohoo:

Can't wait until September!

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or Happy Kwanzaa and a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Hi Stina...
Yeah... we are a bit seasoned sailors.. we'ver done the maiden voyage of the Magic and have been on the journey ever since!!! pirate:
We are excited about this "set in stone" cruise. We have been chatting with some tablemates from a 2004 curise... we might do a Holiday one with them!

Well... I very happy to meet all you and now for me... Im going to the start of this thread abd see what you all have been chatting about! :grouphug:

Bareacuda: Yes, I too was late to the thread so you have to go back to the beginning to see what all the fanfare is about. :cheer2: But I'll think you'll find out this is a wacky bunch who is MORE than ready to cruise!

Deck Them Halls Y'all!

Have a rockin' holiday. :rockband:

Hope everyone had a STRESS FREE Christmas, ours was NOT STRESS FREE! My wife was sick, but she was a trooper, we went to Kevin and Cyndi's (PrettyinTink) and had a good time, but we did not get to spend the night, which turned out to be a good thing, because Tina has been in bed the last 3 days. She did get up to watch our 6 year old open presents and was able to hang in for my family (about 2 hours), but went back to bed after everyone left and has been in bed every since. She woke up feeling a little better, thank you Theraflu...I've had to work eveyday, yes Christmas day from 2 - 9, but I made money, so it was worth it. I have to take a road trip tomorrow to pick up our car, it broke down on the way home from Disney World last week. Which if you have never been to Disney during Christmas, GO, it was beautiful. MGM was by far the best, with all the OSBOURN Christmas lights and Disney making snow. Absolutly incredible! Sorry, back to the store... It has been in Tifton GA at the the Nissan Dealer. It's all covered by warranty and they even rented a car for us to get home and renting it again for me to go back and pick it up. The only problem, it is 8 hours round trip! OK, thanks for letting me vent....

Hope everyones NEW YEAR is better!

Our Christmas was pretty stress-free. Although I was crafting gifts up until the afternoon of Dec. 24! It takes so much prep to get things together it's a shame that it's over so soon.

I received a few Disney-related gifts for Christmas: a Mickey Mouse toaster that imprints a Mickey head on your toast and sings The Mickey Mouse Club March when the toast pops up! Now that will wake me up in the morning. Also a "Disney A-Z" book so I can really know it all! And a light-up vintage style Mickey/Minnie Christmas tree which I will definitely add to my decorations next year. I was glad that my family & friends observed my love for Disney when they picked out gifts for me this year!

The biggest Christmas gift my partner and I gave each other was a short trip to where else... WDW... at the beginning of Dec. We had never visited during Christmas, :santa: so we went down for a long weekend and it was absolute heaven! I cannot believe how gorgeous the Christmas decorations are, and just when you think Disney can't top itself, it does! We didn't get to see and do everything we wanted but we did as much as possible in 4 days and we even got to be a part of the filming of the Christmas Parade that just aired on ABC Christmas morning. Those are memories that will last a lifetime!

Have a happy new year everyone!

Happy Holidays Cruisers!:santa:
We had a very green Christmas here in Ontario! My children (DS12, DD10) were very depressed. They have yet to go sledding and we have only had enough snow for a snowman once so far this year!!!!
Of course I love it warm so this is great! Not a Christmas on a beach but good driving!
Hope everyone has a safe and happy new year. I look forward to more info as our cruise draws closer!
